"First of all, there are two different buildings - Ostria hotel and Ostria studios, 5-7 minutes walk from each other. We were asked beforehand when we arrive to the studios, I marked the time period and asked someone to be in the building to give us the keys. But in the mentioned time there was no one. So my first advice - go first to the Ostria hotel (even if it's uphill), it's on the way to Ostria studios, and take the keys there. Another disadvantage - the WiFi didn't work at all. But actually for me it was even better, I could normally relax :) Other things are all perfect: location - in the quiet place 5 min to Papikinou beach, 10 min to the Adamas port; Room -spacious, comfy beds, AC, new stylish furniture, nicely decorated, "welcome" bottles of water, cleaning every day, adorable balcony we spent many lovely evenings at :) ; Breakfast - one of the best breakfasts (or even just the best) I ever had in Greece - traditional homemade Greek pastry, omelette, Greek cheese, toasts, various types of bread, various fresh fruits, Greek desserts, and each day it's the new set, absolutely adorable. Staff - super friendly and helpful gave us all possible recommendations on even what to see in Athens :) This place is highly recommended whenever you're in Milos!"

"This is a very small and boutique hotel, very clean and new, a close walk to the beach. They serve a wonderful in-room breakfast service (from their amazing restaurant Sirocco that just down the road on the beach - a must for lunch or dinner! ). The drawbacks were sometimes it was hard to get someone on the phone for assistance (it was before 8pm), and the terrace is not very private as advertised. We could kinda see and very much hear our neighbors through the twig divider, coughing and smoking. So it made using the outdoor space and hot tub not as enjoyable as expected, and certainly not a romantic experience. We moved to the hotel that is on the beach for our last 2 nights which was about the same price per night."

The Price Paradox Milos charges accommodation rates that exceed even Santorini despite being a small, lesser-known island with limited infrastructure and fewer attractions. This pricing inconsistency reveals an opportunistic approach that exploits the lack of accommodation alternatives on the island. Fair Weather Friends When everything goes smoothly, the hotel staff appears welcoming and accommodating. But the moment passengers face travel difficulties which is exactly when you need support most they completely change their attitude. Ferry cancellations are frequent and make the island inaccessible, yet no flexibility is offered whatsoever. Cold Shoulders When You Need Help Once problems arise, these supposedly hospitable hosts become cold, unresponsive, and indifferent to travelers' situations. They either stop responding entirely or reply with icy, dismissive messages that show zero consideration for the passenger's predicament. Even when it becomes physically impossible to honor your reservation due to cancelled ferries, they refuse any commercial gesture or understanding. The Real Face Behind the Smile These are not genuine hosts who care about their guests' experience they are cold, profit-driven operators who are only interested in taking your money. The moment circumstances become challenging, their true nature emerges: complete indifference to customer welfare and a purely mercantile mentality that puts profit before people. My Recommendation Save your money and choose destinations where hospitality isn't just a marketing facade. There are countless Greek islands with genuine warmth and fair pricing where you'll be treated as a valued guest, not just a source of revenue to exploit."
