"When we checked in and went to our room we were underwhelmed. The Secret Suite was advertised as a private part of the property that sounded very romantic. It was anything but. However, Pedro was very determined to find us a suitable alternative. His commitment to first class service transitioned us from disappointment to hope for an enjoyable experience at Vila Monte. If you choose to stay there, you would be wise to ask for him. The property has beautiful grounds with plenty of spaces to kick back and relax. The staff is friendly and attentive. We had a spectacular dinner last night, thanks to Raquel, Daniel, Juceila and Joao. From Racquel’s warm greeting when we arrived at A Terra, to Daniel and Juceila caring for our needs throughout the evening, we could not have asked for more. The cuisine was exceptional, as it was each night that we ate there. And Joao! What a superb sommelier!!! His recommendations provided us with special introductions to Portuguese wines. He was full of insights and interesting stories. Do not go to Vila Monte without spending an evening with Raquel, Daniel, Juceila and Joao! BTW…shout out to Paolo and the rest of the team who took great care of us on previous meals at A Terra."

"A modern hotel comprising only 10 rooms in a quiet village location. Staff, rooms and amenities all first class. The views over the Ria Formosa and a large flock of flamingos was lovely, particularly from the infinity pool. All rooms appear to share the same view. Bikes were available from the hotel free of charge to explore the surrounding area which is particularly great for bird watchers. Nearby Fuseta is well worth a visit and from there you can catch a small ferry or water taxi to the neighbouring islands. Only slight negative is that there are no nice bars or restaurants in walking distance. For us it was a perfect place to relax after a busy week at Quinta do Logo."
