"The views over Montezuma were lovely, but the stay didn’t meet expectations. The road in was sketchy, the pool was more the size of a small spa, and the beds were so stiff we couldn’t stay the night. We were promised a 70% refund and are still waiting. While some guests said they loved it, for us it felt more like a hostel than a sanctuary."

"The good: the hotel is located a short walk from the beach, right in the middle of the tiny town of Montezuma. Through their sister hotel Ylang Ylang, I booked a fantastic birding tour with eagle-eyed Eduardo. It was inexpensive and included breakfast and air conditioning. The not so good: the mattress was quite hard. I thought there might not be hot water, but it was just very slow. The layout is that there's a hallway with side by side rooms. The room had a window that looked out onto the hallway, but no exterior light. There were also noisy neighbors and there was no sound dampening. You have to ask for the wifi password. I tried to walk down the beach to Ylang Ylang for the pool, and maybe it was just me, but it was much more than a 10 minute walk! There is a shady dirt road, but nobody seemed to know how I could get to it. "

"I am really glad we had such a friendly lady at the check in. After we realized we booked something that doesnt meet our current needs, she contacted the owner and we could cancel our stay even tough there was a non refund policy for our booking. There was nothing wrong with the place, everything was clean etc. But we realized we need more space and a place that is more secluded. Thanks a lot for the goodwill, it makes a big difference in our travelexperience🫶"

"Execellent stay at this beautiful place. Everything was very clean. Amazing surroundings, and views of the sea, with loads of wildlife to watch as you relax. Easy walk to beach / shops / cafes. Good wifi. Andreas was super helpful - sorted us with booking surf and onwards travel. Would return!"
