Ssushobhan sarkerWe had a wonderful stay at Greenland Villa. It is perfectly located right next to the Kithal Ella train station, from which you can directly board the famous train that goes through the nine arch bridge. The property was beautiful, very well equipped with everything we needed including a great kitchen. It was clean, well ventilated, and more importantly it felt like home. The owner took time to decorate it with great taste. On top of that he was such a humble and polite person.Upon arrival he gave us a ride to get our groceries; another day he brought us his homegrown vegetables, which was such a nice gesture.
Having said that, there were a couple of issues that needed to be addressed. The WiFi connection was not great, probably because of the location, but we struggled with it. And the breakfast was very carb-heavy, which may work for you but wasn't particularly to our liking.
Nonetheless, We would book it again if I ever come back to Ella. We can only recommend Greenland villa highly.

MMutt ExplorerI booked the Double Room with Mountain View for my friend during our stay at Bridge Front Inn Hotel, and just like my previous experience, my friend was also very satisfied with the service and hospitality provided by the hotel.
The hotel is located in Ella, very close to the famous Nine Arches Bridge. It is possible to walk from the hotel to the bridge, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and watch the iconic train passing through. You can even spot the train from the hotel itself.
The room had the same great features, including a private dining area and two bean bags, which were perfect for relaxing, resting, or simply enjoying the surrounding views.
Overall, my friend was very happy with the stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ella. The experience was well worth the price, especially considering the excellent hospitality and service provided by the team.
At the end of our stay, all of us decided to give Yugesh a tip of LKR 6,000 as a token of appreciation for his exceptional service and the extra effort he put into making our stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable stay, great hospitality, and good value for money in Ella!

KKiana MendozaIt’s a little high up on a hill, but the view from my balcony was gorgeous. It’s also right off the main street, so if you don’t mind the trek up and down you’re still relatively well-situated to be near the backpackers’ bars and restaurants and shops. Breakfast had a lot of local Sri Lankan options which I greatly appreciated, and staff was also happy to explain each dish to newcomers.
A small piece of advice for the team though: perhaps hire a few female staffers? As a woman traveling alone, one of the first things I noticed was the all-male staff—or at least, I didn’t see a single woman working there in my 2-night stay. I don’t have a problem with it, but newer solo female travelers might unintentionally be scared off

PPancakes21It was a very cozy stay, we loved the kindness and hospitality of the owner’s family! It’s a bit far from city centre and cars can’t drop you off there exactly but we were ok with that and it’s very convenient to get to Ella Rock and Kitha Ella station. Breakfast was delicious and the views were incredible too! The room is also very spacious!

SSuomalidechenHonestly, if I hadn't found this hotel, I might have given up on Ella. There are so many ugly little guesthouses in Ella that I really didn't want to stay in. Turns out, I made the right choice! The hotel has excellent aesthetics; although it's not large, every detail is exquisite. The balcony is absolutely stunning! It perfectly matches the secluded scenery I had imagined! The pool is especially beautiful, and there are even net hammocks to lounge in!
The hotel isn't accessible by car, so you'll need to transfer to a tuk-tuk. Just contact the hotel in advance.

GGuest UserWe arrived tired and out of sorts, but we were greeted so warmly that our spirits immediately improved. The hosts gave us tea, chatted in a homely way - you feel like a welcome guest, not a client.
The hotel is on top of a mountain, and each room has an exit to a terrace with a stunning view. You wake up in the morning - and in front of you there are only mountains and silence. The room is clean, cozy, everything is thought out to the smallest detail.
Breakfast was prepared especially for our preferences: fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, toast, even smoothies! The staff is not formally polite, but truly kind.
If you want to not just spend the night, but feel cared for and relax your soul - this is definitely your place. I want to come back again and recommend it to everyone. Many thanks to the hosts for such an atmosphere!

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is high on the hill. Walking around half an hour from the center of Ella, daily hyking is provided. At the heat, climbing to the mountain is not comfortable. But the complete privacy with nature and silence, wake up to the singing of paradise birds, from the balcony stunning views 😍 Delicious breakfasts, welcoming host. Slow water pressure. In the room is clean.

GGuest UserThe hotel is on the hillside, with a good mountain view, the room bathroom is super large, the only room that is not damp in the 20 days of living in Sri Lanka, if there is air conditioning, it will be perfect.
 It is more than 20 minutes' drive from Ella Town.  Ella is mostly sloped . It is basically a curved path to various hotels and homestays. It is very suitable for  people who want to be quarantined for a few days to live for a few days. I especially want to praise their service team. A few simple warm and friendly local boys, they really want to be good to every guest staying, thank you for the delicious breakfast.

The **breakfast was a highlight** – a **delicious, wide spread** that set the perfect tone for our days. The **prime location** was unbeatable – just a **2-minute walk to the main city center**, with easy access to **trending restaurants and vibrant spots**.
What truly made our stay special was the **attentive service and warm atmosphere**. **Great food, fantastic service, and genuinely caring staff** – we couldn’t have asked for more!

One thing which can make more effective is WhatsApp service. WhatsApp will speed up things. Service was prompt if you have a Srilanka number over phone call.

GGuest UserThe place is a long ride up the mountain on a narrow winding road… (and unfortunately the local PickMe App has no use in Ella!)
The food service was good but a bit pricey for the area of Sri Lanka. The “Single Room“ was as rather small and had an all glass “front door” and there was no fan or air conditioning… so with the open ventilation ducts most conversations from anywhere in the building could be heard inside of the room…
Overall it was pleasant but not as nice as I had imagined from the listing…
