Kimball Terrace Inn
8.9 (103 reviews)

Kimball Terrace Inn ★★

📍 10 Huntington Rd, Northeast Harbor

"The room is quiet and compact, especially on the edge of the bay. If you find a quiet place to continue to breathe freshly, watch the seagulls. Not far from the door, go to Acadia National Park. This is the hotel you are looking for."

Harbourside Inn ★★★

📍 48 Harborside Rd, Northeast Harbor

"We stayed in room #4 for four nights and the room was spacious with a queen sized bed and a back door where we could nearly park in front of. The room was very clean, which I really appreciated. Best water pressure we have had in a very long time. Pipes are old, so you will hear other guests turning on the water etc. There are a few things I would add/change/update: 1. Hang another mirror in the room, since it’s not easy to do make-up in front on the bathroom mirror with the sink in front 2. Change the locks and keys: I understand it’s keeping the old charme of the place but it was definitely not easy to lock and unlock with the tiny old keys 3. As a short person I couldn’t close the shutters in the room without getting on a chair. A hook of some sort or any other help would be great (like back door or bathroom) 4. Heater of some kind in the bathroom would be great. It’s pretty cold in the bathroom 5. Add a safe to the rooms, so important things can be stowed 6. Breakfast offered is unfortunately very disappointing. Packed donuts, packed oatmeal, bit of fruit, cereal bars and freshly baked muffins are too little for the cost of the room per night (279 dollars/night for end end of season and booked six months in advance)"

The Colonels Suites ★★★

📍 143 Main Street, Northeast Harbor

"We had a fantastic 3-night stay in Unit 3. Northeast Harbor is a charming village away from the Bar Harbor crowds. It’s centrally located to both the main and the west sections of Acadia National Park: about 20 minutes from Hulls Cove Visitor Center and Cadillac Mountain to the east, and about 30 minutes from Bass Harbor Lighthouse to the west. Some of the trailheads are within 3 miles of The Colonels. Communication with the host was excellent. I received texts at the right moments before and at the end of our stay so we knew what to do at checkin and checkout. Be prepared to walk up 21 steps with your suitcases. (I didn’t mind climbing steps on our arrival, but I kinda did when we got home from a tiring hike!)The suite–really, the small apartment–is quite roomy, very very quiet, meticulously clean, and well supplied. You can tell that the hosts really care. There are plenty of linens and extra blankets, and the kitchen has all the basics. I’m posting some pictures of the kitchen items because that would have been helpful for me to know in advance. Down the hall you’ll find an ice machine, washer, and dryer. I didn’t use the laundry, but I think they had detergent pods available. The machines take 4 quarters each. I like that the restaurant downstairs is open 7 days, unlike many of the restaurants in the area. We only had one opportunity to eat dinner there, but we enjoyed it very much. Highly recommended."

Kimball Terrace Inn ★★
"Great value for money. At first, the hotel was fully booked and we couldn't book consecutive dates. I didn't expect that there would be more available later. I stayed for two consecutive nights. I was very happy."

Harbourside Inn ★★★
"I had a wonderful stay here! The value was great. The inn is so charming, with fresh flowers, light breakfast (fruit and baked goods/granola bars), organic coffee and tea… every detail was great. The rooms are very clean, cozy, and even smell nice, with working fireplaces and windows that you can open. There is also nice outdoor seating to enjoy the scenery of this woodsy location just a 5 minute drive from downtown Northeast Harbor and like 15-20 mins from Bar Harbor. Great base for exploring Acadia. Would love to come back!"

The Colonels Suites ★★★
"This was a perfect place for our vacation! Everything was extremely clean and the kitchenette was supplied with dishes and coffee. The bathroom had plenty of towels and hair products. The bed was comfortable and there is a tv and ac/heating unit in the living room and bedroom. We received a checkin text that morning with codes for the doors. When I booked, I was concerned we would hear noise from the bakery very early in the morning but we never heard anything! It is a very quiet place! Even though we never felt unsafe in the town we were a little uneasy about the outside doors being unlocked, a code on them would be a plus. It was a great place to stay and we highly recommend!!!"
