"We stayed at this hotel for four nights in September 2024. The hotel looks very beautiful; the wood exudes a lot of charm. The entrance area is beautifully decorated. We really liked the spa area. It has various saunas and hammams, a Kneipp pool, and several pools. The water temperature in the outdoor pool was pleasant. It was a shame that the simulated irrigation channel running through the spa didn't work. The room was small but nicely decorated. Please be careful when choosing your room; the cheapest one has no view from the balcony, only a concrete wall in front of it. It was a shame that none of the staff spoke German, especially in Switzerland. The breakfast was good, with a good selection, but it was also exactly the same every day. The bread was okay; considering the same bread was served three days a week, we would have expected it to be drier. There were also various "hot" dishes, such as sausages, scrambled eggs, bacon, etc. Unfortunately, none of them were hot, which greatly detracted from the quality of the food. You would have had to pay extra for warm egg dishes straight from the kitchen. The scrambled eggs were more like a ready-made mix than freshly made. The food in the hotel restaurant was okay. We arrived on Sunday. At dinner the waiter came back several times to inform us that the food we had ordered was not available. For dessert I was not told what was on offer; you have to like ice cream with schnapps... luckily I was able to change it. On Monday evening the menu was exactly the same as on Sunday. We have never experienced anything like this before! Not acceptable for a 4* hotel. The amuse-bouche was also the same twice. For dishes from the menu/changing dishes you pay in addition to the booked half-board, for starter or dessert +10.- CHF each, for the main course 20.- CHF. The desserts were always delicious. The starter consisted mainly of meat and fish carpaccio. The main courses were not 4* standard, but of course that is a matter of taste. The staff were not very attentive. We booked this stay for a special birthday. It would have been nice if the hotel had offered a small token of appreciation, such as a beautifully set table. It doesn't take much to make someone happy. With the dining room occupied by 7-10 couples, this could certainly have been done, and it should have been noticed, since they had the contact details. Conclusion: For a 4-star hotel, the food and breakfast were rather poor. The spa area was nice. The hotel complex was modern. However, we certainly won't be coming back for the price."
