"The owner is friendly, and the location is very close to the pedestrian street. The downsides are: it's too far to walk from the new long-distance bus station; also, be careful not to be misled by navigation apps, as it's clearly just a roundabout to the destination, but both Baidu and Google navigation led us to a huge detour involving climbing a hill, entering from the old town's main gate, resulting in a pointless loop."

"A word of warning Let me warn you about a few important major things first: - there is no health and safety in Macedonia. Infrastructure is both basic and dangerous. - There is a complete lack of customer service and non existent customer care - Ohrid is their main holiday destination and it’s mega crowded in July and August - SMOKING IS ALLOWED EVERYWHERE; inside and outside. Over 90% of the population are smokers. There is no escaping the smell of smoke, it’s everywhere you go. - There are no quality standards; if you live and mainly travel in western or high developed economic countries, you might be in for a bit of a shock. - It’s cheap for a reason - Ohrid lake is a natural lake, the water is clean, fairly cold and there are water snakes. It’s safe to swim in but keep close to the shore. - The facilities and equipment are of extremely poor quality and often dangerous Location Hotel Granit is approx. 5km from the airport. Transfer by taxi is 20 euros and takes about 20min. If you have an organised TUI coach, then expect 1-2hrs transfer time, depending on the number of hotel stops they have. It’s along the lake shore and 10min by taxi to Ohrid city centre, taxi was 300 denari. There is nothing around the hotel, it’s on a main busy road, one shop half a km away but getting there is quite tricky (dangerous) walking on the main busy road with no pavements. Rooms facing the ‘park’ are north facing, sunless and get the road noise. Room facing the lake is a must. The Hotel This is not a Spanish type AI mini disco style hotel. It’s chilled, quiet, mostly older kids, there’s no one here to entertain you or your kids. It’s an old style hotel, nothing’s modern about it. The building is an old communist style building. The reception area is quite grim. It’s poorly maintained, hygiene standards are very low. Old tatty furniture, broken, frayed seats, old and tired, dusty surfaces and furniture. There are a lot of steps in and around the hotel. No walker/wheelchair access. Main restaurant is in the basement. Although there is a lift, it’s very slow so would say it’s not designed or adapted for people with mobility difficulty. July and August are the high season and Ohrid itself will be busy. Rooms Are tiny by any standards, no room to swing a cat. Getting a twin room is a big problem. It’s not guaranteed you will get the type of room you’ve booked. The rooms are not clean, carpets in dire need of a proper hoover, there were some remnants of nail cuttings on the carpet in our room. Towels were not changed every day and they were stained. Minimal cleaning and sporadic. Bed sheets are not changed daily. AC works well but the unit is filthy and mouldy. The double beds are the size of a small double. The shower room is nothing impressive. Gets smelly, mouldy and stuffy. Wobbly wc seat, leaky shower, shower holder broken. They supply some basic toiletries. They only allow one towel per person. Also the one key per room only is very inconvenient. The "

"Wow....What was this?One of the most finest places where i have been accommodated. And believe i travel a lot according my nomad style. Everything's here is like fairytale. Extra accommodation extra rooms and apartments, high level beds, cleanness in the most high recemented level. You are at the heart of this oldest city in Europe ,and in the center of everything's what you must to see here. Just 5 min walking from everything's. At least. The Host. Vlatko is a modern ,inelegant ,more than helpful person which you have ever meet at the hospitalities. He was always one step before us ,and never let us leave alone. Tanks to him, you will never get filling that you ar so away from home. 5 stars for property. 10 stars for THE HOST-the face of this Villa. "It is horrible!! Firstly, he accepts only cash - no receipt provided! Tax evasion at its finest !! Secondly, there is no parking guaranteed for everyone , we needed to park somewhere else. Thirdly, when you have breakfast, he watches you how many pieces you take and he doesn’t let you have more than 1 coffee/tea 🤮 Fortly, the bathroom stinks! And there is a jacuzzi in the room but you need to pay 15eur extra to use it, he really charges every possible small thing. Furthermore, there is a kitchen in the room but you are now allowed to cook - the kitchen is just for “storing fruits and vegetables “. Plus, the house rules are no noise between 23:00-08:00h, but he was annoying at 20:30h for us to be quiet. Overall, the experience was 0/10 so I would highly suggest not to visit it!!!!"

"The room was clean and hygienic, the host was friendly, and the location was convenient. It's about a 10-minute walk to the Old Town, and most of the Old Town attractions are about a 30-minute walk away. There's a kitchen, so you can buy groceries and cook your own meals; it's also convenient to go out for meals. Aspects for improvement: As it's a family-run guesthouse, there's no hotel sign outside, and the door was always closed, making it a bit hard to find. We took a taxi, and the driver helped us find it. Otherwise, we don't know how long it would have taken to find it."

"Was picked up at Ohrid airport and taken to the Villa, which is located just around the corner from the lake. Villa Disilevski is more like a family visit type of stay, the place is kept spotlessly clean. The small breakfastroom on he ground level also serves as the reception where I was greeted and taken to my room on th 1st floor. The room was exactly as on the pictures. Doublebed with very nice pillows, Smart tv, balcony & a small kitchenette to make a coffee or rinse fruits, cooking as such is not permitted. A small fridge to keep your drinks cool. Bathroom small but new, and with good waterpressure and hot water. Cleaning and changing of towels every day. Wifi was provided, a bit wobbly when guests arrived back from their excursions in the evening. Breakfast was served from 8:30-10AM, and had plenty to choose from, hot and cold items & unlimited coffee/tea :-) Only hiccup for me was that I was not able to pay my stay by card, as it is stated in description. It would not be a problem for me had I known beforehand. I enjoyed Ohrid, and I enjoyed my stay at the Villa Disilevski, and would not have a problem staying again ."
