Premier Inn Birmingham Oldbury (M5, Jct2)
3.9/541 Reviews
Clear notification that the restaurant closing time is 9pm, I had just travelled through the severe weather and an 8-hour drive to be told at 9:03 that we have finished serving and would not be accommodated, this was bad customer service. This will in future make my choice of where to stay at a premier inn questionable. I had also paid ahead for the service. I apologies if there is clear communication but I certainly did not see this.
Ramada by Wyndham Oldbury Birmingham

Do yourself a favour an spend another 40 quid an stay at far better options close by. This is far from any Ramada I’ve ever stayed at. Firstly the room stunk of stale smoke, smoking burns all over furniture, looked like a hostel. I asked to be changed rooms, which they are clearly use to as never questioned it, next room was a slight improvement. The cleanliness would not be suitable for an animal it was vile we didn’t use the shower as you would be scared to catch something. All the furniture is old, rotten, ruined, the bed was cheap mattress, I dare look under the sheets. The bathroom chrome has mildew everywhere. This was not the worse part, couldn’t get to sleep as the noise from banging doors, cars, was going on all night. Then about 3am a party of drunks continued to party very loudly disturbing guests till about 6, till a fight broke out between rooms, then the fire alarm went off, just don’t bother with this place it’s clearly used for people to do what they like, ****, crack an to know what else . It had a very unsafe feeling to it an they have the nerve to have the reception looking classy with a chandelier yet the rest of the place is the pits!
Holiday Inn Express Birmingham - Oldbury
4.1/5118 Reviews
Enjoyable stay with helpful staff beforehand, taking care of my bags for a couple of days before we arrived. Close to some fast food joints and the motorway. Also some grassy areas to walk the dog. Just one thing - make sure you register your car with the hotel's system. I had driven 400 miles and was not aware of a parking system (okay, I live in a remote part of Scotland that doesn't charge for parking). Staff never mentioned it either, but they were kinda busy between serving drinks and registering guests. Got a bill for £100 which I was not impressed with (finally reduced to £20 after an appeal - which failed, despite me confirming I was a resident at the premises).
