Parador de Olite

"Beautiful old building (part of the former Navarra Royal Palace) decorated with stained-glass windows, suits of armour, tapestries and cast-iron lamps. Location was ideal, being situated in Plaza de los Teobaldos, next to the church. Bedrooms were decked out with dark period furniture and we had a small comfortable balcony. With very friendly staff this was probably the nicest of the hotels that we stayed in in our week in Northern Spain."

Hotel Merindad de Olite

"Great location & follows the line of the city walls. Our room was of a good size and faced the street at the front. Those at the back have views towards the mountains. There's a roof top terrace which was nice to sit out on and look at the views plus the amazing selection of local birds. The breakfast was we thought very good. Easy parking quite close by. Note that there is no lift & the rooms are on the second floor. Oh, & the aircon is really powerful. We needed it as it was over 40 when we visited."
