"I checked in with my wife and son. I had booked a room having a separate bed for couple and child. The room was shown having balcony. When I checked in, they allotted me a different room with one double bed (and not two beds as shown in picture. There was no balcony. When I told this to owner, he told me that he had given my room to someone else since I checked in late. But I had paid my money in full and have the right to check in whenever I want. They tried to compensate by providing complimentary breakfast but it was very feeble attempt to compensate for their gross wrongdoing. The room and bathroom were very dirty. So I will not recommend family to stay there. It’s a cheap hotel but cheap is what you will get for cheap price."

"Do not expect sheesh in the Sheesh Mahal. The rooms are simple unless you spring for the Maharaj or Maharani rooms. The pool advertised is across town in another MPT facility near the river...so there is no pool here. But really, you need a pool in India when so much history and beauty surrounds you? The car park in front of the hotel is lined for a British tennis court as the faciilty was once used by the Raj. Our room #7 was accessed from the outside and up a flight of steep steps. It was clean and the bed comfortable...but not "fancy". The restaurant located in the lobby, has the same MPT menu as other MPT hotels...nothing fancy but pretty good. We stayed in 5 MPT hotels in our 7 week adventure and did not get sick once. Did get a bit bored of the menu however. When my wife had a sore throat/cough, they prepared a nice medicinal tea which they delivered to our room. Sweet. The hotel helped arrange a guide to Orchha, Hemant Goswami, who was amazing. Not expensive and a store of knowledge about all the many sites in Orchha. We highly recommend Hemant Goswami."

"No Wifi except in reception area is inexcusable when it can be easily fixed. This hotel does not care about its guests, and the front desk makes that clear. Very poor food in the restaurant. Rooms are old and poorly presented. The is a beautiful place, with interlocking courtyards, let down by awful management. They do, however, adore hosting weddings that blast loud music until the early hours, with no regard for the hotel guests. I note that this hotel does not respond to TripAdvisor reviews. Caveat Emptor. Other hotels actually deserve your custom."

"We stayed in cottages next to riverside 1112,1113 amazing view nice garden .. decent size rooms with big washroom and a multiple gardens ahead.. beautiful and charming ambience overall Service decent , food decently fine could have more options i believe as for a 3 days stay we felt to order repetitive items only...must stay property for the lovely ambience it offers. Reception , restaurant staff very welcoming and courteous."
