"The Principe Collection's Bom Bom Resort was a highlight of my visit to Sao Tome and Principe. The resort has bungalows on the beach overlooking a beautiful cove with golden sand and lush jungle framing the blue ocean waters. It's warm and clear, and perfect for swimming (at least at this time of year in June). There is a nice pool area and bar too, and the dining room overlooks ANOTHER beach with plenty of open space and lush jungle up to the water. The staff is warm and friendly, the food is excellent (the weekly barbeque was my favorite highlight) and the bungalows comfortable and air-conditioned. I would definitely recommend this resort if you like the beach--the other properties (Belo Monte, Sundy Praia) are beautiful too, but the proximity to the sand and water at Bom Bom is what sold me!"

"This accommodation is rated well on Booking, which is why we decided to book it. As there was no option for a triple room, which was what we wanted, we contacted the accommodation directly. The owner confirmed that there was a triple room and we made the reservation. We were told that breakfast was not included, so it would be charged separately at €10/person. The owner asked us if we needed a transfer, so I asked several times how much it would cost or if it was a courtesy of the house. As we did not get an answer, and at the last minute, we asked for the transfer, for which we were charged €20 (for a distance of 5km). When we arrived at the accommodation, the owner wanted to charge us the amount including breakfast, even though we had not confirmed that we wanted it. The room we were given was on the ground floor and smelled unbearably of mold. The bathroom was tiny and unreal in terms of layout. We stayed for 3 nights and there was no cleaning on any of the days."

"We had a spectacular 2-night stay at Belo Mondo. Upon our early morning arrival, Lucia, the hotel manager, greeted us warmly and personally escorted us around the beautiful property, giving us helpful orientation tips, before showing us to our rooms. Our upgraded rooms were spacious, luxurious, and beautifully decorated, with the adjoining terrace, an added bonus. Before lunch, we walked down a steep hill to Banana Beach, pausing at the halfway lookout point to take photos of the famous beach below. Arriving at the beach, we found covered platforms, each with 2 lounge beds, from which we could enjoy the view of the azure waters and uncrowded white sand beach before us. The water of the sea was so clear, we could see down to our toes. When we were ready to return to the lodge, we called for a ride and were promptly transported back up the hill. Our al fresco meals on the terrace were all delicious, accompanied by beautiful views. The entire staff were warm and friendly and made us feel most welcome and like family. We were surprised to find they even provided turn down service at night. On our first evening, Lucia invited us to her favorite spot to view the sunset over a class of wine, and took photos of us as the sun set. Overall, we had a most memorable stay and would be happy to return."

"We only stayed here for one night, but that was enough. The complex is beautifully located in the jungle by the beach and the tent villa was very large and luxurious, but unfortunately there are also various shortcomings that such an expensive luxury accommodation should not have. Quite a few families with children stay there, so it's not really quiet. The ways within the complex are relatively long. For example, we had to walk about 10 minutes from our tent villa to the restaurant. If you're not very mobile, this complex is not suitable. The food was nothing special. At the other HBD resorts, such as Bom Bom Island or Roca Sundy, there were always two dishes to choose from for dinner. This was the case for the starter, main course and dessert. Here, there was only one menu. Drinks are included in the price of the accommodation, but only the cheap ones. For example, a cocktail at the bar costs extra. The worst thing we noticed was that other people had bed bugs. We saw the bites ourselves. The management told people not to tell anyone else. People were then moved to Roca Sundy and Bom Bom Island Resort due to lack of space. In other words, the management wants to cover up such things. All in all, the resort is overpriced and does not offer good value for money. Therefore, we will not be staying there again in the future."
