Amazing
GGuest UserThe hotel itself boasts a fantastic design, and its location is absolutely superb. It's right opposite the seafood market and just a few minutes' walk from Higashiide Coffee, which meant I had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast and coffee there one morning. It's a bit of a distance from Kanazawa Station. While the hotel does offer a shuttle service, it only operates in the afternoon. I ended up taking a taxi to the hotel from the station, but this was perfectly acceptable. Overall, it's excellent! I've already recommended it to my friends and will definitely be back!

GGuest UserUpon arrival, the sofa bed was already set up, making the room feel very spacious. The kitchen was fully equipped with pots, pans, an induction cooktop, coffee machine, kettle, range hood, dishwasher, dish soap, and dishcloths – everything you could need. The toilet was separate from the washroom and shower. The shower had great water pressure. I didn't notice any skincare amenities provided in the room, but pajamas, toothbrushes, and razors were available for guests to pick up in the lobby. The lobby featured a spacious lounge and reading area, along with a drink vending machine. Downstairs and a right turn led directly to a food mall. Across a small street, to the left were a hair salon and an excellent seafood restaurant, while to the right was Hyakubangai shopping street. The front desk staff, who I believe was from Southeast Asia, could communicate well in English and had a pleasant demeanor. On a side note, here are some Kanazawa sightseeing recommendations. My child's top pick was Myoryuji Temple. It was reportedly built by the local lord as a covert defense against the central government, featuring many ingenious (though perhaps not very sturdy) hidden mechanisms. Many temples in that area were supposedly established for similar strategic purposes. My personal favorite was Nagamachi, near the Buke Yashiki (Samurai District). It's an area concentrated with former samurai residences – imagine a beautiful Japanese version of a historic mansion district like the Yuyuan Road or Huashan Hospital area in Shanghai. Scattered nearby are art shops, small museums detailing local history, and craft galleries. It’s quite fascinating to explore and learn about Kanazawa's past. There's also a small alley, possibly only open in the evenings, with yakitori izakayas called 'Hashi-something' (Bridge-something)? Higashi Chaya District, on the other hand, felt a bit like a 'tourist street' – the kind you find in many cities, whether genuinely old or a recreation – with somewhat homogenous merchandise. Still, it's very picturesque for photos. The Asano River itself was just like any small river in a Japanese provincial town, with scenery not quite comparable to the impressive urban riverfronts back home in China.

SSam_6Hotel Location: Strategically situated just a short walk from JR Kanazawa station, the hotel is easily accessible via the nearby shopping mall. It’s conveniently located next to Hyatt Centric, and a short stroll takes you to Omicho Market for fresh seafood. Facilities: The hotel boasts a public bath, a welcome addition during the cold winter months. Additional amenities, including coffee drip bags and teabags, are available for free at the lobby’s amenities kiosk. Rooms: The spacious rooms offer ample space for luggage, with separate wet and dry bathrooms. Opposite the hotel, an izakaya operates until 23:00, providing a cozy spot for relaxation and to ease your hunger during the night tim. The hotel is just a few meters away from the shopping mall, train station, and bus station, making it a convenient location for travelers. I would recommend staying at this hotel as it’s convenient and budget friendly. Staff were polite and helpful service with a smile.

GGuest UserThe location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk from the Jr station, making it very convenient for dining and shopping. The room was spacious, though the hairdryer wasn't great. We had a minor incident on our second day, but the hotel manager handled it promptly and with great sincerity, which we really appreciated.

AAnonymous UserStayed here for 4 nights to visit Kanazawa, Fukui and Toyama. Room is small but sufficient for 2 people. The toilet seems newly fabricated/ installed so it feels newer than the room. The room is stuffy in the winter because theres only a slow wind/ hot room option for the AC. There are microwave ovens, drinks vending & ice machines located on various floors. Even though the hotel is located near the JR Kanazawa station, it is very quiet at night. My favourite part about the hotel is the proximity to Kanazawa station, just 7 mins walk! Perfect for those using the Shinkansen. Opposite the hotel (1mins) is Forus & 100bangi mall with many shopping, eating & omiyage choices there. Omicho market is about 20mins walk, perfect for a fresh bowl of kaisendon!

GGuest UserThe property was built in the Edo period, this tranquil hot spring inn is located 11 km from Kenroku-en garden in Kanazawa. It's quite close to from Morimoto train station. There is lots of free parking space, both breakfast and dinner are included but one must arrive by 6pm for dinner, which is served in a cozy restaurant. The gender-segregated communal bathhouse has both indoor and open-air pools with natural hot spring water, which is coffee brownish colour. There is a theatre stage which host an annual performance too. Amazing experience and well worth the visit. The hosts were so friendly.

GGuest UserStay here for 3 night. Room with breakfast. No variation for their breakfast. Every day is with the same dishes. Also the staff at the reception are not helpful despite asking if there are e available parking lot that can be made available since there are guest checking out. But they insist for us to drive the car from the affiliate parking lot to the hotel to book the space first despite that we told them we are heading out. There is no point for us to just drive the car here and eventually we are still going to drive out isn’t it. They could have just took our car particulars and secure the lot. Very unhelpful young staff till a nicer Japanese older lady willing to assist us.

GGuest UserThe Square hotel Kanazawa was our favourite hotel in Japan so far. 15 minutes walk from Kanazawa Starion and in a great location for our short stay in Kanazawa (we now wish we had booked longer). We walked everywhere, including to the old Samurai district. 3 single beds, 2 were on a platform so that added a bit of Japanese authenticity (a bit). Lovely staff, public bath had tatto restrictions but that’s ok, room bath was really good. I will stay here again when I come back.

GGuest UserWe originally got a room that was smoky probably due to previous guests but the housekeeping did not do a good job of getting rid of the smokiness (take note the hotel is supposed to be non smoking I think). We called the reception who proceeds to change our room to another floor and they made sure this time there's no ciggarette smell. That wasted a bit of our time but a good gesture to change our room. House keeping needs to make sure to check room properly especially for those with families. Son had a bit of a coughing fit when he entered the room due to the smoke. Location was strategic and they provide free parking in the mall parking.

Aalex.myI loved this hotel. It’s one of the best cost-effective options I’ve stayed at. The room was clean, well equipped, very comfortable, and the amenities were great. The location is also very convenient. Unfortunately, I didn’t try the breakfast, so I can’t comment on that.
