Porto Marina Hotel ★★★★
"Leaks, water seepage, little support from the hotel, and the same price."
Hotel Nova El Peñol ★★★
Vivanti Resort ★★★★
"The resort looks nice at first glance, however, you can’t call it a ‘resort’ at all. First of all the staff speaks no English. Therefore the check in process was not smooth. The next morning we were actually wondering what time we could have breakfast, which was apparently included, they did not tell us anything about it. Also, the hot tub is not maintained well. The water in the hot tub is not clear and looks very dirty and the glass is not clear anymore because of white dirt (probably chloride). Does it get cleaned at all? Also the pool was freezing cold, not just a little bit. The second day the jacuzzi was not hot, the staff forgot to turn it on. During your stay, no matter how many days, you only receive one small bottle of drinking water in your room. The rest they expect you to buy in the resort ($10.000 for plain water). Drinking water should just be available any time for free in a ‘resort’ like this. The room itself is ok, however the bathroom is run down and looks cheap, as if they didn’t have the money and time anymore to finish them. Also, our room did not get cleaned and our bed did not get made up on the second day. We did not get clean towels. Also there are no towels available at the pool, you have to ask for it. During check out, the bill was not correct. One dish (creamy seafood rice) was 20.000 more expensive than on the menu. Apparently they changed the price on the Spanish menu but forgot to change it in the English menu. Luckily after all they charged the price as on the English menu. But they also charged us a bottle of water in our room that we did not drink and we again had to attend the staff before it got removed from our bill. Not professional. Moreover, the resort had some influencers entering the resort on our last day. We were looking forward to relaxing a bit at the pool on the last day before leaving. However this was not possible because they were occupying the whole pool! The next time you are planning a photoshoot, please make sure all the rooms are empty because we as guests could not use the facilities we are paying for! Very strange vibe as well. In general, the vibe in the ‘resort’ is extremely off. There were almost no people (which we get now), but also, the people that were there, were only busy making photos and filling up their instagram page probably. Last but not least, the prices they ask for taxi’s are absolutely ridiculous. We asked for a taxi to Guatape and they charged 90.000 peso! We were about to go to another hotel in Guatape and after messaging them they arranged a taxi for HALF the price. The ‘resort’ is on a very remote place, so there is no way you can go somewhere without a car or without being charged an extreme amount of money. Uber doesn’t work there either. The experience was absolutely ridiculous. This was the worst hotel in this price range on our 1.5 years of travel trough Asia, Australia, America, Middle America and South America. We feel sorry for the staff in the r"
The Boato Hotel ★★★★
"Our family stayed at the Boato Hotel during our visit to Guatapé in February and really enjoyed the peaceful setting and beautiful surroundings. The hotel is in a great location right by the reservoir. We felt safe during our stay, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. We especially loved having access to the water. Kayaking and paddleboarding on the reservoir were highlights for the whole family. It was a great way to relax and enjoy the stunning views. The hotel is located on a hillside, so be prepared for a fair bit of uphill walking between the rooms and common areas. It was manageable but worth noting, especially for families with younger kids. One thing to be aware of is that there are no food options nearby. You’ll need to either eat at the onsite restaurant or arrange transport into town, which is a bit of a drive. The food at the hotel was good, but having more flexibility would have been nice. Overall, Boato Hotel was a lovely and memorable stay for our family. It is a peaceful, scenic spot that's perfect if you're looking to relax and enjoy nature."

Atma Boutique Hotel Guatapé
"Spectacular experience in the divine bubble villa, if you like to see the stars and the moon, all in a bubble where it is warm, the attention and the food 😊😊😊✨✨✨✨✨✨🌓. Room service, access to the dam, and you can't miss taking advantage of the kayak."
Domus Glamping - Guatapé
"This place is great with super personal attention by the staff who bring everything to your cabin space. The bedding is very comfortable and the mini fridge is well stocked. The free activities are nice. Points of attention: * The jacuzzi does not have central heating which means you have to wait upwards of 30 minutes for it to fill, and if you want hot water again you must dump (some of) it out and refill with water that may or may not come out hot from the faucet. * The entry way is unnecessarily low, which caused me to bump my head more than once. * Take a GOOD look at which view/room you book. We booked lake room one and we barely got a glimpse of the lake. So I would suggest to check that throughly as I wasn't really aware. From lake room one you will be surrounded by the sound of nature as well as the road close to the glamping (think: birds chirping and cars zooming by) * The waiver signed for the jetski is unappealing and I'd go so far as to say unlawful placing any and all blame on the user. Isn't that what insurance is for? These are just points of attention. All things considered I would probably stay here again for two nights. "
Levit Glamping - Hotel Guatapé Peñol
"I want to start this out by saying I don't not blame the people who work there, they did all they could to try and salvage a miserable Valentines day excursion. I wanted to have a special romantic day with my girlfriend, but it was impossible at Levit glamping. The individual areas where you stay are sub-standard, the little pods where you sleep are tiny, I am not a large person and neither is my partner, but the pods feel more like a trap than a love nest, but that is not the big problem. The big problem is NOISE. All of the little are right on top of each other and you can hear everything that is going on in the area next to you and in the kitchen and dining area that is right next to our "romantic" love nest. Within a 5 minute time I could clearly hear the kitchen workers, a romantic comedy with drew barrymore and Adam Sandler, a couple worried about their son and a woman moaning with pleasure. It was if the pods were not out in the woods, but smack dab in the middle of Grand Central Station in NYC. It reminded me more of being in a youth hostel or army barracks, not a secluded romantic valentines day spot. We tried to leave, but because it was dark the boat could not take us to the mainland. We ended up sleeping in the workers cabin because it was so much quieter than the pod and the "highlight" of the trip was when somone's Burmese Mountain came in through the dog door and crawled into bed with us. We left first thing in the morning and headed back to Medellin. If you're exhibitionist, this might be the perfect place, bit if you want to go to Guatupe on Valentines day for a romantic evening, I would suggest you look for alternatives,"
La Pausa Hotelbistro
"An incredible and relaxing getaway! Everything was perfect—the lake views, the serene surroundings, the cabin, the location, the beauty of nature, the water, and the two fantastic on-site restaurants. The food was delicious, the staff was wonderful, and having our private jacuzzi made it even more special. We spent a few blissful days simply being present and soaking it all in, as we had explored the area before. The jet ski ride around the lake, along with visiting El Peñol by water, was breathtaking."
