"Three of us booked one room together. Upon arrival, we were told that we could not stay unless we paid an additional £165 to upgrade the room. However, even after the upgrade, the room was still quite small, and in my opinion, the overall value did not justify the price.
Regarding check-out, we left at 12:20 instead of 11:00. We were only informed of the £30 late check-out fee when we arrived at the front desk, not in advance. I accept the charge, as we did check out late. However, what confused me was that since the hotel decided to apply a late check-out fee, this implies that the late check-out was accepted. In that case, cancelling our room key authorisation before we actually checked out was inconsistent and resulted in the three of us being locked in the corridor.
Many people recommend this hotel, and we may consider staying again in the future. Next time, however, I will make sure everything is handled strictly according to the rules. On a positive note, the hot spring and sauna facilities are very good."
