It is around a 15-20 minute walk from the main part of the village with apparently grab not working where the resort is situated. They also have a laundry service."

"We've got home to the UK and recommending this place to everyone who will listen! We booked the jungle package and chose the river canoe trip, night hike in the jungle, overnight stay on Cheow Lan Lake and upgraded to an ethical elephant experience on the last day. Everything was wonderful right from booking a few months prior. The transfer organised by them from the railway station at Surat Thani was seamless, the check in super organised and our room was made ready very shortly after we'd arrived (very early!) Rooms are spacious and a perfect atmosphere for the location, with balcony and hammock to spot the wildlife around or just experience the peace. And the food - probably some of the best food we've had in Thailand. It was beautiful and the staff there wonderful and very efficient. The overnight trip to Cheow Lan Lake will stay with us forever - it's just stunning and I'd really recommend you don't miss this. Yes the accommodation is very basic at the lake but you're in the middle of nowhere and it just all adds to the experience - don't expect 5 star facilities, just soak up the atmosphere and hospitality. Listening to gibbons, watching a sea eagle fly high above with a snake (!) seeing hornbills in the trees, the tranquillity. so many stunning photos opportunities - I could go on! The guide on our night jungle hike was very good - we saw a sloth, many scorpions, macaques, flying foxes and two snakes in the trees above (not a python!) We just wish we'd booked a couple of days more here to chill out, spending more time at the river beach watching the macaques playing in the trees and water and having a couple of Thai massages (us not monkeys obvs) They also run a shuttle into Khao Sok town, so you're not isolated there - we didn't do that but the town is a road of bustling activity full of restaurants, bars and small hotels."
Our Jungle Camp ★★★
"We booked a 3N 4D tour with Our Jungle camp, with the last night on the lake. Accommodation was OK as was the food. However was disappointed to find that the actives were out sourced and we joined various tour groups. The wild life was limited, although this is not there fault and maybe due to the rainy season. The tour on the lake was also disappointing, although beautiful, the accommodation was very basic and looked like it was falling apart and the next day we were rushed off at 9.30 back to harbor by 10am even though tour was meant to finish at 12.30, this happened for all that went out. Our guide wasn't good and when there was nothing to do would rant about how people talking about him behind his back and that he just wants to be happy. With hindsight, I wouldn't book the package and wouldn't recommend unless you don't mind the above. Also be mindful that when you go to the lake you enter the 'Dam' end, 1 hour away. if there is a next time for me, I would look at staying round this area."

"Loved the vibe here! It’s a smaller hotel in a great location right by the main road with stunning mountain views. The walk up the hill to the pool is a bit of a workout, but the scenery at the top is incredible. The only downside was the AC struggle—it took a few hours to really kick in during the summer heat. Still, it’s a lovely spot and very reasonably priced."

"In Khao Sok you make do with what you have and you don't go there to look for luxury, but we had a good time here. Clean, hospitable, in a nice location. It's easy to organize tours for the next day, no need to book in advance. There are many restaurants in the area, and at Chao right next door, if you want, excellent pizza and gnocchi! The ATV tour is recommended, we really liked it."

"Ning is an absolute superstar, she organised a fantastic trip for us in the National Park with an overnight stay in a water bungalow - although basic it was very comfortable with a spectacular location and delicious food. We saw elephants, flying fox bats & even otters. She then organised a lovely room for us at the Royal Bamboo Lodge which was so comfortable with beautiful exotice flowers, a great pool and we even got to meet some of the local monkeys. I left my shorts drying at the bungalow and Ning posted them to Bangkok for me and they arrived the following day! Cannot recommend this place enough if you're visiting Khao Sok & looking for a very memorable trip to the National Park. Thanks Ning 🙏"

"We booked this hotel with some trepidation given the mixed reviews and now understand why there is such a range. Ultimately these are rooms in the middle of a jungle area where it rains a lot. If you go expecting 4* luxury you will be very disappointed. On the plus side staff were friendly, the rooms have character, and the communal area is very pleasant and creates a nice social hub. Do bear in mind though that rooms are basic, shower quality is limited, and some mod-cons (like somewhere to hang your clothes!) are missing. If you embrace it for what it is then it’s fine, but do not expect luxury (and be prepared for the odd bug!). Also we booked a number of tours but information on what to expect, what to take etc. was very limited which is a shame as we were not as prepared as we could have been. We also found the weather forecasts to be useless and it rained pretty much all the time (no fault of the hotel tho!)."

We were informed that we could swim in the river, but that was simply not possible (only 20-30 min deep at the time). Staff was incredibly friendly (5 stars)."

"Family ran business which is always lovely to support and has a more personal feel. The rooms were big, clean, sealed from mosquitoes and cool from the air con. The location is perfect as it’s just a 10 minute drive from the national park offering a tranquil peaceful stay. We went swimming in the river and ate in the restaurant there too. Which was also lovely very good food! We will definitely be returning one day on our next trip to Thailand. Thank you for a lovely experience."
