"It's a good Premier Inn overall, decent restaurant and excellent deal for breakfast and dinner (handy with kids). Staff were excellent and very friendly, just not enough of them on at times. Parking is good but the electric vehicle charger wasn't working - with no indication that it was out of order. Apparently down to the car park management company disconnecting it. Location is fantastic to see all sorts of great stuff in Yorkshire, perfect for the coast and lots of inland attractions. We've stayed here before a few years ago and were happy coming back."

"Pickering is a nice town. We took the steam train here and stayed there for one night. This hotel is similar to a family hotel, the environment is acceptable, but the services are basically non-existent. Breakfast includes two breakfasts, but an extra child has to buy it separately. Cold meals are 10 pounds and hot meals are 16 pounds. We say that the two adults who include breakfast will order hot meals, and the additional child will order cold meals. The waiter said that adults can order whatever they want on the menu and there is no quantity limit. We ordered several dishes in total, thinking they were all single items, but it turned out that each dish came with a side dish. We saw that we couldn't finish it and asked them to leave it. Don't serve the food that was served. At the end of the bill, they told us that we ordered more than two hot meals, and since the dishes that were not served would be counted, the children's portions must also be charged as hot meals. The argument failed, and they didn't listen to the explanation at all. And what's even more outrageous is that when we ordered, we clearly said that our children wanted cold meals, and we ordered more than three people. Why didn't the waiter remind us? ! The service is terrible!"

"If you want modern chic it’s not for you but if you want homely, comfortable, clean with friendly owner and staff then it’s for you. Lovely stained glass in entrance and stairs. Breakfast excellent and served in the conservatory  looking out into the rear garden and orchard."

"When booking was not asked for a deposit which we thought was strange as most hotels ask for at least your card details. We looked at the hotel on the website and thought that it looked great, on arrival we were a little disappointed. We were shown to our room which was clean, but very dated, as my husband put it , 'It's like staying in your Grandma's bedroom' There were toby jugs and chintz all around. Breakfast was a joke, and due to fits of laughter 'on my behalf' we were unable to complain. The fruit was dry and had seen better days, toast was limited to 1 1/2 slices per guest, and then when breakfast came things were missing. the beans came straight from the microwave in a bowl and the black pudding after we had asked, which was stone cold and my husband sausage had only been cooked on one side, and was raw on the other. We were not told until later that they had no hash browns and were replaced by fried bread. During breakfast the 'lady ' of the hotel came out from cooking breakfast, wearing a mucky T-shirt and nothing on her legs. I think if we had seen her first we wouldn't have even bothered to order breakfast. The reception area you were met with a cat and a dog not a nice site. I understand that hoteliers are entitled to have pets but guest should not have to share them. On leaving we paid the bill CASH OR CHEQUE only, we were not asked if we had, had a good time or if everything had been ok. I am sorry to say that I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The only thing that it had going for it were, the large car park and the location. This is a shame as it could be a lovely place. The internet is a good thing, but on this occasion I thing that the photos must have been either from 'the best room' in the hotel, or from somewhere, and that the reviews were wrote by the hoteliers themselves. Unless of course they were having a 'BAD DAY'"

"Lovely lodge. Really clean. Offered privacy in the hot tub from the other guests. Was a really peaceful site as only 16 lodges so was not busy. Great location for family activities in driving distance. Would visit again."
