This historic home has plenty of rooms including a comfortable living room, study, formal dining room, a dine-in kitchen, and a screened-in back porch, so there's plenty of space for everyone to unwind. The house features all the convenient amenities you would expect. This home is one of the oldest in Mount Hope. The house was built in 1910 as the home and office for the doctor that served the people living in "The Little Town with a Big Welcome". James and Lucy Wilkins, my grandparents, purchased this home in 1940 from the doctor. James was the accountant for the New River Coal Company having moved to the area in 1920s. This home has been restored to its original appearance reflecting the styles of the Victorian / Art Nouveau eras. This cabin was built in 1886 and has so much charm. Also on the property is a stone building that was built in the 1930s. The stones are etched with the location the stones came from. One from every county in WV, along with some other unique locations. This unit is a 12 x 28 foot tiny house that comfortably sleeps 5 with a Queen Size bed, a Full sized mattress in the loft and futon in the living area. The bathroom features a full 36” vanity with a corner shower featuring a luxurious rain forest shower and tankless water heater.
