In the morning, I was awakened by the first rays of sunlight and birdsong. Drawing back the curtains, the lake sparkled with a gentle mist, dreamlike and ethereal. In the evening, sitting on the terrace or a lakeside bench, watching the sunset paint the sky in brilliant orange and red hues, with the reflections dancing on the lake, was breathtaking. "Beautiful location indeed. We had a house that was difficult to warm, but otherwise okay. The food was downright chaotic because there was also a party. With many questions we finally got our food. After the stay my ereader was lost. Various telephone calls and emails, where I also indicated that I would check the bedding, were to no avail. Two months later I received the ereader from the laundry. The organization of Vanenburg Castle, no matter how beautiful, leaves much to be desired."

"We had booked for four nights, but unfortunately the rain ruined the stay. The hotel is clean and tidy, beds are okay, and the bathroom is free of mold. The hotel staff is polite and courteous. From this hotel, there are many things to see: sand sculptures (Garderen), Mariahoeve. We wanted to go for a nice walk in the area, but the rain spoiled our plans; unfortunately, we left one day early. A big thumbs up for this hotel. After a long day, happy hour there is highly recommended."

"The location is great, quiet in the forest. Room is dated, but all facilities are available and clean. Mattresses are on the soft side, but we slept well. The bar staff does their best, but does not have sufficient knowledge of their own range. When checking in, the reception forgot to report that the restaurant was fully booked for dinner. The hotel apparently prefers to have outside guests rather than taking care of its own hotel guests. Expressed dissatisfaction to reception in the evening, reception was not impressed. Another colleague the next morning when checking out was also not impressed at all. This was our 3rd time in this hotel, but to be honest probably also the last time."

"We stayed at the hotel from May 26 to May 29, 2022, in a Superior Comfort room. Room 207. The room was fine with an excellent bed, but the bathroom was very disappointing. Small, old-fashioned, and not very clean. There wasn't even a rack to put your toiletry bag on. You could only store your toiletries on a small shelf above the sink. The toilet was not very clean and is in need of a thorough cleaning. Brown deposits were visible in the curve of the bowl and under the water surface (I am not talking about traces of stool, but brown deposits resulting from a lack of maintenance). The breakfast room is not particularly cozy. A few tables for two and four, but mostly long rows of tables where you have to queue. The breakfast is just boring and not very varied. Boring bread. The same selection every day. A bowl of fresh fruit is probably too expensive, so just fruit from cans, though with some freshly cut pineapple mixed in. One plus point: good coffee."
