"My Husband and I have just had a great stay here for 3 days. The building has been been beautifully renovated and has heaps of history. The facilities are great and there is a large garden and seating to bask in the sunshine. Really tasty breakfasts each morning, free parking and some lovely little touches in the room. Jackie and John are fabulous hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend and we’re coming back in November. Thank you."

The Beacon Hotel

The Beacon Hotel

📍 11-13 Station Road, Redcar
★★ 8.2 (11 reviews)

"Fantastic location, perfect for a trip to the seaside with kids. We visited last summer and loved it so much we wanted to repeat it this summer too. The car park is very close by and then you’re so close to the beach the kids could walk over in their beach gear, less than 5 mins with small kids. The hotel itself is clean, well appointed and every staff member we encountered was super friendly. Highly recommend."

"Booked for the two of us for 1 night bed and breakfast, instead of driving 2 hours home at the end of a party. We weren’t on Four in a Bed tv show, so nothing was inspected to the enth degree. The premises are over the road from the beach. The car park very adequate, was round the back with a rear entrance door. The reception lady was very nice, polite and informative. We were in room 26, twin room at the front of the hotel. Decor was tired and yes could do with a revamp, but it was very clean, bed comfy. As I said, we didn’t inspect it - it’s a typical east coast hotel that we were sleeping in for 1 night. We liked it. The bar/restaurant was very pleasant and fairly busy. We only had a few drinks before the taxi arrived. Breakfast was buffet style. My opinion, waste of money to serve in this way. Was 4 of us guests in total eating a full English at 8 to 8.30am Would be better, to take food order and cook and serve as they go, like a well known Inn do in some of their places. The bacon was very well done, the baked beans were cold. Could imagine those eating say 8.30 onwards would be met with cold/tired food, and maybe a lot of food waste for the owner. We would stay here again if needed and would recommend but don’t be snobby it’s a nice clean hotel that’s probably fighting cost of living like most of us are. "

Red Barns Bed & Breakfast ★★★
"Stayed at Red Barns for three nights to attend a training course at the nearby pool. It was a perfect place to work in the evening, walk everywhere I needed to be, have peace and quiet and also enjoy a very restful sleep. Jackie and John were very welcoming and the work put into every room is very impressive. Loved hearing and reading about the history of the building. The breakfast also kept me going most of the day, which was a real bonus. If I am ever this way again, I’ll definitely choose Red Barns. "

"Booked this place as was on ground floor as disabled with mobility scooter.Found it had many steps which were not suitable for scooter and hubby had to keep lifting scooter over them which was not ideal as he has a sore back, the staff in charge did not help and was not very welcoming. The bed was very uncomfortable and we had to park arould the corner in a grotty looking car park costing 6 quid then move to outside b@b after 6pm.Area was not very nice and we did not feel safe as pub up the road with undesireables hanging about."
