"My one moan is that the hotel advertises itself as ski in ski out. It isn't. The walk to the lift is short, only 5 minutes but a pain on the way home as it is uphill. And you need to navigate to the bottom of the kohlmais lift at the end of the day as otherwise it's a 15 minute walk from the other lifts. There doesn't seem to be a ski bus in the town. The hotel does offer a limited shuttle service but only twice am and pm. Moan over. This is a lovely hotel with comfortable rooms, with plenty of storage, good wifi and a decent bath. A pleasant little bar, and excellent food at breakfast and dinner, although perhaps short on carbs. But you can fill up with truly wonderful bread (different rustic bread every night)! And a great cheese board. Very friendly and helpful service: a real family feel. Pleasant house wine at 50 euro, beers at about 8 euro. Heated boot rack in the ski room. It's a short walk to the centre if you are looking for fun before or after dinner. Just before you get into the centre you pass four very lively bars. Take your choice! My son and I opted for the off piste bar most evenings: a real crush but very entertaining downstairs in the cellar. A bit further on and you can find the Mpreis supermarket. And lots of other bars. Skiing is great. The three areas link up well with only a short walk between them. Snow cannons everywhere and the pistes are very well kept. Quite a few nice restaurants especially on the kohlmais slopes. Generally very few lift queues even on a sunny Sunday. All in all I spent a very happy week here and would love to return."

"Superb Hotel in a great location and with excellent service. We stayed in January for a week skiing, the room we had (Comfort double room without balcony) was fab. It had dual aspect windows with a view over the outdoor hot tub and the main Bergkogel gondola. The only complaint about the room was it was warm. This was despite the radiators being turned off. I would have happily slept with the windows slightly open, but my husband is a light sleeper and could hear some outside noise. However this didn’t bother us too much, just meant that we had to throw the covers off. The food in the hote was plentiful and tasty. Breakfast was both a buffet and a choice of specialist eggs (omelette, fried etc). There was plenty of choice from cheese and meats, pastries, cereals, fruit, porridge, or bacon and eggs. Afternoon tea was amazing (and at no additional cost), there was refillable sodas, tea and coffees. A wide choice of cake and patesseries, cheese and meats and a hot option like Spätzle. If you had a hard day on the slopes you can certainly refuel. The evening meal was also delicious. You made your choice in the morning of which starter and main you wanted and this was supplemented with a salad buffet, soup, pudding and cheese. We had to restrain ourselves to make sure we didn’t eat too much. The restaurant and bar area was nicely decorated and I would describe it w modern alpine chic. The spa area was also fabulous. The enormous infinity hot-tub was a great place to rest weary muscles and we enjoyed the sauna and relaxation areas too. The boot room provided individual lockers per room, so you knew your kit was safe and secure and it was a couple of minutes walk to access the slopes, and head to the Bernkogel or Kohlmais lifts. Finally we really liked Saalbach town and found that there was a wide range of après options to cater for all tastes and ages. We will be back"

"My girlfriend and I recently stayed at Hotel Eggerhof. using it as a base to expore the area and walk the mountains (you can access one of the many mountain paths directly from the hotel grounds). The location is very quiet and the hotel has stunning views over the mountains and down the valley. The Eggerhof was spotlessly clean and and beautifully decorated throughout and the staff were always friendly and helpful and spoke English which was very helpful for us. The food in the restaurant was exceptional for both breakfast and dinner, as a Ceoliac I was very happy with the attention to detail the hotel paid in ensuring I had fantastic and safe gluten free options for breakfast and dinner every day. Having the small farm on site is great for animal lovers as we were able to go visit the adorable goats, ponies and pigs each day! We would wholehearted recommend staying at Hotel Eggerhof."
