It was only a 5-6 min ride, but the price was 16 euros. I asked the front desk about this and they said it’s the standard rate. But if you use Cabify it’s only 5 euros."

"My all-time favorite hotel is Hotel Las Anclas, and whenever I go to Cantabria, I book it well in advance because it's the most peaceful, clean, and quiet place I've ever known. I sleep like a baby there. It's next to the Church of San José and very well connected to Santander, just minutes away by bus and train, as the train station is a 3-minute walk. This Hotel Las Anclas in El Astillero also offers beautiful walks through the Marismas Blancas and Marismas Negras wetlands, or along the Morero trail, or along the path towards Cabárceno or Nueva Montaña. Next door is a unique and beautiful park called La Cantábrica, with its stunning Olympic-sized swimming pools. The summer pool is filled with filtered seawater, and in the summer you can get a 10-visit pass for just 28 euros, or individual entry for 4 euros. Las Anclas is the hotel in El Astillero located next to this sports complex. Beautiful, crossing the Cantabrian Park where there are swans and ducks, and it's all full of wonderful trees: pines, oaks, maples, yews. And best of all, it has a breakfast buffet that starts at 6:30 in the morning with everything you could imagine, and it's absolutely delicious: fruit, pastries, sobaos (a type of Spanish cake), honey, juices, bacon, chocolate, eggs, toast, delicious coffee from excellent brands like Dromedario, and delicious butter and creamers. All of this makes this place the ideal spot to relax, spend the summer, and sleep like a log 😴 and truly unwind in peace and quiet. It's the perfect place to stroll without crowds or noise. Everything here is peace and tranquility. We love it! The town of El Astillero, which is also home to Sea Bird Life, where migratory birds and wildlife are cared for and observed, boasts magnificent trees and flowers throughout the municipality. The air is always filled with a wonderful floral scent, which is truly striking. It's beautiful and everything is spotless. It's a model town in this respect. El Astillero is therefore a marvelous destination, and this hotel, with its rooms featuring incredibly soft, high-quality cotton sheets and plush blankets that feel brand new, makes it a must-visit. The views are also breathtaking. You can see the entire Peña Cabarga mountain range. The laundry service is incredibly fast; they return your laundry the same day. For me, room 225 is one of the most beautiful, as it offers panoramic views of Peña Cabarga, breathtaking sunrises, and unforgettable sunsets."

"Very nice hotel. Comfortable, clean rooms. Only thing missing from the room was an iron, but the staff at the front desk offered a (paid) ironing service which was done immediately, which was nice. Location of the hotel was good, very close to the beach and several restaurants and cafes. Would recommend."

"All in all it was a decent hotel/apartment. Location was fantastic, 2 minutes from the beach and restaurants and bus stop. Super market around the corner. The room itself was not bad. Fairly spacious, ample cupboard and storage space, good kitchen amenities. However, the beds were uncomfortable, the pillows were not at all comfortable and there was no air con. This made staying in the room from around 2pm to 7pm unbearable. The bathroom was tiny and the shower cabin was very very narrow which left you no choice but to bump your arms and elbows in the cabin doors each time you shampooed your hair. Reception was friendly but not too helpful. Daily cleaning was good. Towels were soft. Breakfast was good for the price and the main waiter was Eagle to please. If it had aircon I would add a star. It needs a bit of TLC and some form of cooling as temperatures hit over 30 while we were there."

"I recently stayed here with my sister, such a great apartment in a beautiful location with a wonderful host, Raul. We were checked in quickly and shown our apartment, lovely, clean and spacious too. All of the amenities were in the apartment, it's a great location very close to the beach. We didn't drive during this trip, it's very easily accessible with public transport. We loved our stay and hope to return soon!"
