"We were here last year and decided to come Back because of our past experience. This year was even better. When we arrived for cocktails at Scirocco Bar we were greeted with a friendly “welcome back” from Karola and she brought the kids their favourite mocktail that she remembered from our last trip. Francesco and Elia always treated us with a sincere smile and the best disposition. We love the Verdura and we love watching sunsets from the Scirocco Bar, but we will always come back for the people."

Apartment Perfect for Families on Vacation

Aparthotel Isabella

"I was really disappointed, I was expecting a hotel with the option to add breakfast but really it was just an apartment with the bare minimum. We weren't offered the option of breakfast and the restaurant was always closed. When we got to the room, the quality was poor. The kitchen was basically falling apart and we barely had enough utensils to cook with (no kitchen knife for preparing). There was no microwave or oven, just a hob. We were given half a bottle of washing up liquid and one bin liner for each bin so we had to go out shopping to buy more essentials for the room. The balcony was always covered in dried bird poo, I was constantly sweeping to clear it and didn't risk hanging any washing outside in case it got covered. When we arrived there was a dead bird on the balcony (it looked like it had been there for a while) surrounded by lots of bird poo which I had to get rid off myself. WiFi was very poor, didn't work for the first days and when you could get it working, you would lose connection quickly. It was very quiet while we were there, many people were using it as an apartment and went out during the day so we did have the pool to ourselves. The bar at the pool was closed the lifeguard manly chilled behind the bar. He would close the pool around 1ish (by using a rope to block the entrance) but said we could keep using the pool with no lifeguard. The reception was basically closed. When we arrived we had to let them know we were on our way so they could be there but as soon as we checked in they left. Checkout was 10 am so we were ready at reception to check out and no one came even though the Reception was supposed to be open. We received a message telling us to leave the key in the room. One positive about the hotel is the views, it has some beautiful views of Sciacca and is in a very peaceful location. Only a 5/10 min drive from central Sciacca."

Melqart Hotel

"This is a small hotel that thinks big. The staff at the front desk was concerned and positive. Easy breakfast and a short walk to the dock. Close to very nice restaurants and reasonable prices. Our rooms (2) were clean and comfortable. Beds were very comfortable"

"It's very simple to write a review of Calogero and Rosanna, it's like to describe friends, relatives, and once one of the two cars arrived, it was a failure. In an hour a mechanic came to take it back after 24 hours of perfect operation. Rosanna borrowed us his machine for the period. The rooms are well furnished, spacious and almost meticulous cleaning. We arrive at breakfast: abundant, fresh and natural with adding pasteries. Finally Calogero allied the ns permanence with Sicilian songs played and sing very well."

"We stayed here during our wedding in Sciacca at their vineyard just out of town and host Giuseppe made us feel like complete royalty. We had one of their signature bottles of wine on arrival, the rooms were spacious, clean and beautiful and the balcony’s looked over the winding alleyways of Sciacca; beautiful for photos. The stairs gave us a bit of fear knowing we had a 30kg suitcase in tow, but Giuseppe helped us every step of the way and was so accommodating. We cannot wait to come back and stay again. Also location couldn’t have been more perfect being above the best restaurant in town and a stone throw from the main square."

"Silvano and the team are simply first class. The place is lovely - perfectly located, clean, well thought through in design and perfect for taking in the old town and port. Acceptable public parking - either free or €1/hour am/pm -free overnight, is nearby. If only more places were as good as this."
