"Like many Youth Hostels in Switzerland the one in Scuol has received a price for its architecture. Justly! It is a nice place to stay. In summer guests are into outdoor sports. That means that they might have to take an early morning bus at 0630 hrs. In the evening we asked for some food to eat early morning, when the kitchen is still closed. No problem, we could have a lunch pac. Surprise, surprise! For a sandwich made of 2 regular slices of bread with cheese or ham, an apple, a cereal stick we were asked to pay Fr 10.00 plus coffee from the machine. At the breakfast buffet we could have had as much bread, cheese, ham, yogurt, fruit, jam butter, coffee as we wish - just like in any Swiss Youth Hostel. One has to make a request for "take-away breakfast" at least one week early to get that for free! We were surprised about that unfair price policy and lack of flexibility. "

Badehotel Belvair ★★★

"Belvair is a good choice to spend a few relaxed days in school. The hotel offers some at an attractive price. The ambience is quiet since most guests are already in the retirement age. The greatest advantage of Belvair is, of course, the direct lift to the Bogn Engiadina, while in the rest of the Belvedere family you have to go a path and also climb stairs. Our room was comfortable, the bathroom was very functional and the room cleaning was worthless. I also appreciated that my wish for a room was met in the upper floor. The breakfast buffet was well assorted, it was also regularly filled, only the arrangement in a nick is not optimal, as guests themselves come into the cross. Unfortunately, my input to buy a second coffee machine was not implemented. Tip: to not always bear a candy of coffee on the table, which can be done with egg food. Unlike our visit in 2023, the dinner has no longer been so talked to us. We did not find it so finely coordinated and organized. Newly, you can enjoy a dine Around with booked half-pension and eat in Belvedere, Nam Thai and Guardaval for pre-registering without any extra charge, which is a real culinary enrichment. All in all, Belvair is a very uncomplicated and relaxed hotel. All staff are very friendly, sympathetic and what is noticed – many have been holding the hotel loyal for a long time. As many guests, there must be something!"

Engadiner Boutique-Hotel GuardaVal ★★★★

"The hotel sits in the old part of Scuol in an ancient building and this is a nice thing. However the restructuring of the interior spaces made the structure quite anonymous. In spite of the restructuring process no elevator has been built as well as no air conditioning system: Scuol is 1200 meters high, not 1400 as the person at the reception told us, and the meter on the window of our room marked a 39.2 C as maximal temperature reached during our stay. This is hardly acceptable in a 4 star hotels that charged 760 CHF for a small double room for 2 nights. Such an hotel should have at least a nice swimming pool. In reality the pool is available but is a public pool where the number of people present and the round shape of the two main pools render swimming all but impossible. Last but not least: the pool can be reached after a 500-600 meter (and 85 steps) walk. On the positive side, the quality of some of the breakfast food (smoked saibling, cheeses) was good."
