"Conveniently located: bus station, tren station, convenience store, walking distance to the bridge (watch eagles) and to the beach.
I wish they had some meals to purchase in the New Year holiday. No food at all."
"For us it is the second time in this wonderful hotel and every time it is like living a dream: it feels like being in a bubble thanks to all the well-being in which you are immersed. You are pampered by every service present and by the kindness of the staff, which makes you feel at home. The food is simply divine and you would just like to have a more spacious stomach so you could taste more and more. Nature is unsurpassed, every day you find yourself meeting spectacular creatures even just going out a short distance away. You will not find a similar place in all of Japan, where man meets nature in a perfect combination of balance, harmony and deep respect. We hope to be able to return a third time and relive this beautiful dream again. Thank you for everything Kitakobushi Shiretoko Hotel!"
"The covered bicycle parking lot can only accommodate three motorcycles.
First come, first served. If the lot is full, you will be taken to the open-air parking lot.
*Don't worry, the open-air parking lot is large.
It's a dormitory, but in addition to the partition curtain, there is a sliding door (with a lock).
There is an outlet at the pillow.
It's about a 15-20 minute walk to the convenience store.
There is a restaurant in the same place.
I was debating whether to get venison or Shiretoko beef steak, but
the clay pot hamburger was absolutely delicious.
The carrots were cooked all the way through and were delicious.
The miso soup (white miso) was also delicious.
There were four shower rooms.
Shampoo, conditioner, and body shampoo are available.
Smoking area next to reception.
There is a vending machine outside. Limited edition coffee? It's delicious.
It's along the road that leads to the sky."
"Really enjoyed our stay! Room has huge, clean and comfy, and staff were very friendly. Breakfast and dinner buffet was amazing with a wide variety of food and drink items, from japanese, western, chinese and even indian cuisine. Onsen was great...sitting in the outdoor onsen with the snow falling was quite an experience. There's a great spot to watch the sunset just 5 minutes walk from the back of hotel, and we even spotted a fox and deer from our window."
"The hotel is located a 20-minute walk from the bus stop. Although it’s a hostel, the room is spacious and includes a safe and a refrigerator. The bedding is clean. There’s no shower in the room, as this is an onsen-style hotel. There’s no kettle in the room either — a shared one is available on the first floor in a small kitchen equipped with a stove and a microwave.
The only downside is the absence of a water cooler or filter for drinking water. You have to buy bottled water from a vending machine and pour it into the shared kettle. The view from the window is stunning. The air conditioner is AI-powered — it even talks 😁"
"The hotel is built on a mountain, and trying to walk around was quite tiring.
The room was spacious, but housekeeping doesn't come daily. Currently, all of Japan is embracing eco-friendliness, so most hotels only clean every two nights, and some even every three nights.
Those who sign up for tours or activities will be picked up directly at the hotel. The hotel also offers a free shuttle to the Utoro Bus Center. If you miss the shuttle, I believe the hotel can also arrange a drop-off.
The buffet was extensive, but eating the same things every day got a bit boring. Personally, I still prefer set meals.
I tasted something sour in the chawanmushi. At first, I thought my taste buds were off, but after smelling it, I confirmed it was indeed sour and informed the staff.
The public bath has several pools. The open-air hot spring bath is a bit small, but it wasn't crowded."
"We stayed in the North Building's Bear Room. It was incredibly spacious, with two single beds, two long sofas, and plenty of space. It was a pleasant surprise. The public baths and hot springs were large, and there were two outdoor hot springs. Soaking in the wild air was incredibly relaxing. The door key was a cute wooden bear sculpture. The hotel shop sells these keychains, and I really want one.
Due to travel time, we didn't book a meal at the hotel and walked to Utoro for food. The walk took about 20 minutes each way, and it was uphill, with mountains on both sides. I was a little worried about walking at night. One downside: the bed felt old-fashioned and too soft, making it uncomfortable. A tatami mat would have been much better."
"Perfect location. It was a 5-min walk from the bus station and less than 10 min from Roadside rest area. Room was spacious and it faced to the sea. Enjoyed the beautiful sunset from the balcony . Delicious breakfast and dinner. Food of western and Japanese style was provided. Dining area was big.
Unfortunately, the staff didn't speak English. Need to spend sometime to communicate and they tried their best to give help anyway. Better to use the Google translate in this case. Check-in time was 15;00. There is no receptionist before that. For guests arrived before 15:00 can leave luggage in the hotel but guests had to bear the responsibility."
"Excellent service from the staff. A lovely cottage. Breakfast and dinner was excellent. There wasn’t any air conditioning which made it unbearably warm, fortunately the temperature dropped as the night progressed and we had a good night’s rest"
