"It is located a bit out of the way, but since it is a small town, it is perfectly walkable. I think the value for money is quite good for Italy."

"Two nights at Borgo Della Marmotta. Vey appealing rural setting in Poreta, in close proximity to Spoleto and Spello. Great base to explore the southeast corner of Umbria. Helpful and friendly hotel staff. Lovely grounds and pool area. Communal areas and rooms on the property. Restaurant and breakfast area a short distance from accommodation. A couple of issues - the wifi in our room didn’t work ( was unable to be resolved by staff) - and as the mobile coverage was also patchy, one would have to walk around towards reception area to get any data access. The restaurant food was excellent, but apparently only changes the menu once per week - again, normally no big issue, but when we arrived, there were already three items taken off the menu, and the following night, a further two items were removed - with an already relatively limited selection, the options were limited. Lastly, there were numerous mosquitoes in the area, which meant that without window screens, windows needed to be closed - potentially ok if air conditioning functional, but alas, the hotel doesn’t turn the a/c on until summer. Sounds like a bit of a whinge, but we generally enjoyed ourselves and have favourable memories."

"An experience to forget. Let's start by saying that a 4-star hotel can't be without hot water... very dirty, with strands of hair and dead beetles on my carpet that had been there for 5 days. I recommend filming the room when you arrive and paying attention to every "WORK OF ART" before leaving. You might have some unpleasant surprises."

Children and grandchildren were delighted because everything I had told turned out to be accurate. Excellent location, services and kind and attentive staff. Infinite spaces with manicured lawns. "This is a beautiful and beautifully maintained inn with a friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast room, lobby (more like a living room really) and patio/garden look out on Monteluco, where the Sacred Wood of St Francis and an ancient but still operating monetary are located. Worth the hike! The palazzo is in easy walking distance of shopping and dining in Spoleto. Spoleto itself is charming and well situated for day trips and excursions. Note that you may have to wheel your luggage up and back because most cars are not allowed in this upper part of town. The bed in my room was super comfortable and the bathroom adequate. Not a modern super bath but it had all the essentials. I would return in a heartbeat."
