Had a cooler week in March but had blankets and heater to stay warm. Right across the road from the strip when its open for the season. "We have just returned from the Dionysys Apartments in Stalis and ask you to look at all of the good posts of this lovely hotel. I needed a holiday where I could relax and enjoy sitting around the lovely clean pool, having a drink and walking only a few minutes to the beach The food was great cooked by Papa playboy and this is exactly what was achieved. It was just a wonderful experience and we will return next year. The apartment and hotel who was very clean with no complaints at all and Rula does a wonderful job keeping that way. The genuine warmth of the staff, Papa Playboy, Efi and Athena, and the stunning natural beauty of the surroundings made for an absolutely unforgettable holiday. We loved our holiday to Stallis and the Dionysos apartment's. Just waiting for June flights to be released and we will be back!!"

"We stayed in the Deluxe Suite with a Jacuzzi. Its the largest room and we had plenty of space. This room is closer to the main street but we had no trouble sleeping, its very quiet at night. The bed was very comfortable. Large TV in room. The breakfast was amazing, lots of choice and you can have eggs/omelettes cooked fresh for you. Its a very quiet hotel with only 11 rooms. All the staff work hard to provide a comfortable stay. Apostiles is very helpful with recommendations on where to go for trips and where to eat. Alban on the beach is very funny and always had our beds ready and was on hand to provide us with drinks. The beach area outside The Riviera was lovely, very sandy, no rocks in this area. I recommend using the hotels airport transfer service, very good value for money. Plenty of Greek Tavernas within easy waking distance. We had a look at the other rooms as some people say they are very small. I would say they are standard size for Greece. We loved this hotel so much we are coming back with some friends next year and will stay in the smaller rooms they are lovely and have everything you need. Thank you to everyone at The Riviera, we had the best holiday and cant wait to return."

"the room we stayed in was very dated, brown old furniture and a film of grim on soft furnishings and floor. No bedside table so used stool with thread bear covering had to put a towel on top to cover the grim. Long slimy worm like grubs on floor and curtains. Bathroom tiny with mouldy curtains that wrapped round you as half of the fittings were missing. First day swimming pool was green although they did clean it was next to a main road so very noisy and not a relaxing place to catch the rays. A long walk in to stalis with a couple of restaurants near by. The outside bar area could have been nice but again very overgrown and dated furniture. Hopefully it has been refurbished but we certainly wouldn't risk booking in again. Much better accomodation nearer to centre which we will be staying in this September "

"Yet another fabulous holiday After many years of coming to Crete as a family we have said we would try the Greek night in Mochos and so we kept to our word this year. Once we mentioned this to Kleo at the bar she was on hand to arrange it all for us. She arranged transfers to pick us up and bring us back for a group of 12 people, along with a restaurant reservation with a perfect location and delicious food. The Greek night is a must and one all of the family will enjoy. Everyone at Nikos apartments are always on hand to help whether it’s arranging a night out or a great night around the bar with family and friends. "

"Just returned from 10 days in the Malliotakis hotel we went as two couples it was absolutely amazing and I cannot fault it at all 😍 Perfect location right on the beach we had a poolside/beach view room and it was perfect nice and clean, Could always get a sun bed. The food they serve was also very nice. And finally the staff are so welcoming and friendly they speak many languages, it is a family run hotel and they work so hard and such long hours and will always go out of their way for you I would absolutely return 🥰 thankyou for such a perfect holiday"

"This is Greek heaven. Don't listen to any bad reviews. If it's egg and chip you are after it is not for you thankfully! Stunning, fresh food. Beautiful rustic styled room with everything you need and a pretty terrace. The owner's and staff are lovely. Round the corner from a beautiful beach and bars and restaurants. I almost didn't want to write this review as I wanted to keep this place all to myself. I will definitely be back."

"This hotel is 10/10 if you are looking for a relaxing experience. This was my first time travelling alone as a female, this hotel and the staff/people made me feel at ease, comfortable and safe. The hotel is aesthetically beautiful, super super clean and I must say the food was outstanding for an all inclusive buffet style cuisine. All the staff were polite, friendly and happy to help. The pool and surrounding areas were again super clean. My only suggestion would be to play music around the pool as would create a bit more of a vibe/atmosphere. I also had a massage at the hotel spa Vasiliki was my therapist, she was extremely attentive, her technique was good and she was professional. The massage was quite expensive but I enjoyed it and was much needed. Overall a beautiful hotel and amazing staff."

"Location particularly good, accommodation typical of this class of Greek apartments, air conditioning and safe available in addition to holiday fees. Two pools, one nearer for tourists and one for local trade. Inexpensive coach stops (twenty-nine) to Malia, Heraklion, and the rest of the Island outside. Beach, taverna, restaurant, supermarket, and bars close nearby. The locals are very friendly and helpful. Apartments run by Maria, who has fluent English and Greek. Her husband Stavros has some English. You can still get access to your room if you arrive outside hours, go to the reception door to see your welcome notice. Be aware the road outside compares to a UK double carriageway road, cross with care looking left first"

"An exceptionally friendly, clean and well located small hotel which exceeded our expectations. Rooms very clean, modern, well catered with regular linen changes. The freshly prepared breakfast offered a great variety to suit all diets. The poolside and private beach was furnished with good quality sun loungers. Each pool had its own bar service and staff subtly patrolled the beach offering a variety of hot and cold snacks and drinks. The location was superb with an excellent variety of local family run tavernas as well as more chic smart restaurants. The bus service to other destinations was very affordable and ran well giving opportunity to explore the island further. A much appreciated touch was the availability of a room to shower and change before departing for the airport for a late flight. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday which we would not hesitate to recommend."

"We stayed at Heliotrope Apartments in July 2025 and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience. The accommodation was extremely dirty – cockroaches were present in several areas of the apartment. Despite an immediate complaint on site, nothing was done, neither cleaning nor a room change. The staff showed absolutely no interest. The incident was also reported multiple times via the booking platform Agoda, including photographic evidence. Nevertheless, we were only offered a very small compensation, which in no way reflects reality. The apartment was unacceptable in this condition, and the provider's response was disappointing. I cannot recommend this accommodation and strongly advise caution when booking it."

"We had a wonderful stay at this Katrin suites. The atmosphere was peaceful with beautiful surroundings and a very relaxed feel. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well cared for, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. Especially George, Maria and Eirine who where exceptionally professional and friendly and made us feel at ease. Breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious. The location was perfect for exploring nearby beaches and villages while still feeling quiet and away from the crowds. What really made the stay special was the personal touch — it felt much more warm and friendly than a large resort hotel. We would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a charming and relaxing place to stay in Crete."

"First things first, stay was very good. We had swim up room. Room and whole hotel was very clean, beds comfy and bathroom spacious (I think even to big and therefore we were missing a little bit of storing space). Room service, bar and restaurant staff was professional and friendly. Main pool was with a sea view, so it was a plus. AC is also very efficient and quiet and in same time not making you having a sore throat, which is a case in some hotels using different types of AC. Food, especially lunches and dinners were good and differential Also for us location was perfect, very close to bus stop, shops (first was less than 30 m) and bars and restaurants, while not being in crowded and loud center, so you can relax in peace and quiet. So what could be improved? - storage, i.e. we were missing towel hangers, there was only one hanger in bathroom (one hook and small bar), for sure not enough for couple with bathroom, beach and hand towels - change of policy related to drinks and food near pool. You are not allowed to bring any food to the pool, even a biscuit, while in same time you can bring all drinks including coffee that then if spilled leaves and marks on sunbeds - so I don't understand logic here - change in policy related to glass. You are not allowed to take drink from a bar to private pool (swim up) because of risk of debris, but in same time you have glasses in room and you are allowed to bring drinks from outside and risk of debris is same - so again lack of consistency in approach - check door soundproofing, our door were not like 100% fit to door frame so there were some section with "holes" which was making noise from outside more heard in the room (but in general hotel is very quiet and noisy quest are not allowed - which is a big plus) - more variants of breakfast, especially thinks like omelets or sunny side up eggs were missing for me - maybe adding some basic cocktails (in limited amount) to all inclusive offer - I was personally missing gin cocktails which were only available for extra money But long story short: hotel was hotel, very clean and tidy, location also very good, so it's worth giving a shot especially if this small changes will be implemented "
