"It’s a basic hotel 8 minutes walk from the airport subway line. The hotel is situated in a quiet alleyway. The room is small, but standard to Japanese style. The room provided all the amenities I needed for the trip; a little side table and chair, and a drying rack for clothes. There were many small Japanese restaurants within walking distance from the hotel so I didn’t need to venture out for some authentic food. Overall I recommend staying for solo travelers."

"The double room was quite spacious, with enough room for a 26-inch suitcase. There was a massage chair, but I didn't get to try it. Two bottles of mineral water were provided. The bed was large enough for two people comfortably. The bathroom was also fine, not cramped at all. Room cleaning is done every three days; if you need fresh towels or trash picked up, just put out the sign. A special full cleaning costs an additional 1100 yen. The accommodation tax is 400 yen per person per night. It's very close to the station. The Musashi yakiniku downstairs was pretty mediocre, I have no idea why people would brave the wind and rain to queue for it. Overall, it's a decent place to stay."

Opened in 2023, the Golden Guest House Hakata is a great accommodation choice in Fukuoka. Boasting a convenient location, the hotel is just 1km from Hakata Station and 4km from Fukuoka Airport. In addition, Hakata Metro Station is just a short walk away. There is no shortage of things to see in the area, with the Haruyoshi Park, Tochoji Temple and Life station cafe alpha plus all nearby. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. This hotel is particularly popular with those traveling alone.
"It’s a nice guest house in South Korean style and many tenants from there. It was quiet and warm, in a very quiet neighborhood. The bed was very comfy. It is a bit far from central spots but you can take the bus. Hair drier was a bummer early in the morning, but it is acceptable."

"This hotel is absolutely fantastic! The room was already quite spacious, but what I loved most were the bathroom and shower – they're huge, with a perfect wet/dry separation. The Refa shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner were amazing.
The location is also superb. It's less than a 5-minute walk to Daimaru department store and Tenjin Underground Mall. If you walk in the opposite direction and cross the bridge, you'll find the Yatai food stalls, Nakasu, and the Ichiran Ramen head office. KOMEDA is right across the street from the hotel, making it a great spot for brunch. Kanetora Ramen is also very close, just a short walk away. I spent three days in Fukuoka and could basically walk everywhere.
A taxi to Fukuoka Airport only takes about 15 minutes and costs around 100 RMB, which is incredibly convenient. Highly recommended!
The Italian restaurant downstairs at the hotel is also pretty good."

"The hotel appears brand new, with excellent facilities, and its exterior also looks quite impressive. The staff were very courteous, and complimentary toiletries and coffee are available for unlimited refills at the front desk. I booked a triple room; the beds were on the smaller side, but the room offered a bit more space than what you'd typically find in Japanese hotels. The hotel's location is definitely a standout feature. Most of your shopping and dining needs can be met within a 5-minute walk. For instance, there's an Arc'teryx store with no queues and an Ichiran Ramen right outside, plus a large shopping mall directly across the street. Overall, it was excellent, and I would definitely book again."

"The Breakfast Nakasu has always been my husband's and my favorite place to stay when we're in Fukuoka because of its convenience to everything (transportation, shopping, eating and sightseeing). They have great Japanese style breakfast, especially loved their fresh sashimi with rice, though having some western style, like bread and bacon on other days would be nice for a change, if staying longer. But overall still 5 stars for us, which includes their front desk, housekeeping and catering services, they're all so friendly and helpful. Definitely would recommend it."

"The hotel boasts a fantastic location with convenient transportation links and plenty of dining and shopping options nearby. The two beds could be pushed together, which was perfect for our family of four. We had some incredible fresh, live squid at a restaurant near the hotel; the squid strips were prepared as tempura and it was absolutely delicious! We would definitely choose this hotel again on our next visit to Fukuoka!"

I was thinking it's the same with Richmond naha were bfast was very good, a typical buffet style with free ice cream but here only ste mebh for breakfast. I will stay again if lucky to get a better price"

"the room we booked was a little narrow for us (2adults&1toddler) but we still managed to sleep together in a double-sized bed. They have ALL THE BASIC AMENITIES: shampoo, conditioner, body soap, towels, toothbrushes/paste, and tissue. Appliances included in our room were the air purifier/filter, air conditioner, tv, hair dryer, and super mini-fridge. THAT's ALL. IF YOU LOOK FOR OR NEED hair ties/ razor/ hair brush/ cotton&buds/ lotion/ face wash/ bathing towel/ hotel pajamas, BRING FOR YOURSELF. they don't have these free amenities.
overall, our stay is peacefully good and well-enough. the price is cheap so we don't expect too much and is worth our stay.❤️"

GGuest UserIf allow guests to drink the coffee in the morning for free even no breakfast included in the booking that will be so nice
GGuest UserUnlike the two previous hotels I booked, this one is much closer to the JR station and the airport shuttle bus. You don't even need to cross the road; it's just a left turn right outside the Chikushi Exit.
I was unexpectedly upgraded from the king-sized room I originally booked to their largest twin room. It was over 30 square meters, could accommodate three people, and felt like a small suite – definitely the biggest room I stayed in during this trip. The bathroom featured double sinks, and to my surprise, there was even a sanitizing wardrobe. Next to the bed, there was a small lounge area with a sofa and a table, plus two massage devices. The only drawback was the lack of a window. Check-in and check-out were entirely self-service and very convenient. Complimentary coffee and disposable toiletries were available on the first floor.
Diagonally opposite, you'll find Daikoku Drug, Matsumoto Kiyoshi, and FamilyMart, while a Lawson convenience store is conveniently located right next door.

EEthan Dun KapThe hotel is technically in between 3 subway stations — Hakata (7 - 8 mins walk), Gion (7 - 8 mins walk), and Kushida Shrine (2 mins walk) — and also located conveniently near Canal City Hakata shopping mall, Kushida shrine, and many stores and restaurants nearby. The cleanliness of the hotel overall was good but a little less positive for the room itself, as some parts of the washroom’s privacy blinds looked like they aren’t cleaned regularly and edges of the room’s carpet were often not cleaned well (wearing slippers in the room and not touching the privacy blinds easily mitigates these concerns). A personal issue and warning for taller guests would be that the position of the toilet in the narrow bathroom (at least for the ‘cozy double’ room) requires users to face a section of the wall quite closely when seated, which would likely be uncomfortable/ impossible for people taller than 175 cm to use while sitting down (the attached photo is taken with a 0.6x camera lens). The air conditioning for the rooms was shared by a central air system which cooled the rooms well, but it is worth noting for those with sensitive noses that there was a very faint but noticeable odour of old cigarette smoke in the room despite the current no-smoke policy. The coin laundry room is very small with only 1 washing machine, 1 dryer, and 1 hybrid washer-dryer machine (also, no coin exchange machine is present), so I recommend washing mid-day or in the early evening if possible. The front desk receptionists and cleaning staff were kind and approachable (in both English and Japanese), the check-in and check-out processes were smooth, and the hotel did offer free luggage storage services after check-out. Overall, an enjoyable and budget-friendly stay.

WWariyukiThe hotel is decent and clean. It doesn’t provide any free coffee in the room or lobby. It also doesn’t have any bath tub or public bath. Overall it’s a pleasant stay there.
Located right next to the Yanagibashi Rengo market, you can enjoy the fresh sashimi, sushi and other food at the market. There are a number of buses that take you from the Hakata bus station to the hotel, it’s actually very convenient too.
헤헤수스The place is very clean. It is literally next to the subway station so it is very convenient. I stayed during summer so it was hot outside, but the lounge and the building was cool. The only problem is that if you close the curtains of your pod, you might get hot quickly, unless you leave it partially opened. The faucet on the 2nd floor bathroom wasn’t working so you’d have to go to another floor to wash your hands.
Breakfast was good, very friendly staff and good connectivity to the airport and hot places like Hakata station.
MM370190****I chose this hotel purely for its location in the ”Tenjin shopping district,” and only after checking in did I realize it offered ”all-around convenience.” You can easily handle all your shopping and dining needs within walking distance – just around the corner downstairs is the Aeon supermarket, super convenient for snacks, souvenirs, or emergency items. If you want to try local flavors, you don't have to go far; the highly-rated Shinshin Ramen is nearby. After a tiring day of exploring, a bowl of tonkotsu ramen is wonderfully satisfying.
For a hotel in a major shopping hub, the biggest surprise was the room size. It was significantly more spacious than other budget hotels I've stayed in. I could open up my 28-inch suitcase, and there was still plenty of space to walk around and put my carry-on bags without feeling cramped like a ”small box.” Plus, getting to the airport is super convenient; from the subway station near the hotel, it's just a few stops to Fukuoka Airport. No need to rush or meticulously plan your travel time way in advance, which is fantastic for travelers with luggage.

MMiyu BirdiePersonal opinion as a female Asian traveler.
Location: 20 mins walk from Hakata station. 4 mins walk to Gion bus stop or canal city bus stop, both go to Hakata station in around 10 mins. Also, 15 mins walk to Kawabata Shopping Arcade and Canal CityHakata. There are not many restaurants nearby, only convenient stores around the area. Better eat before returning to the hotel. There is a MaxValu Express (open for 24 hrs, 2 levels: 1st floor drugsstore and B1 supermarket) 4 mins walk from the hotel. Great option for late night snacks, drinks, daily necessities, and tax-free shopping.
Room: small and a bit old, cleanliness ok, no bath tub only shower stall. Shower water is not hot enough. Very poor sound insulation (recommended to use earplugs when sleepping. Provided on 1st floor of hotel). You can hear almost every single activity happening next door(literally meaning). Light switches far away from bed, which is a bit inconvenient.
Front desk: it is an unmanned hotel. Self check-in via smartphone prior (utilizing the QR code) or via computer on 1st floor. Self check-out via tablet provided inside the room or computer on 1st floor. Using password to enter room. There is a female staff member in the lobby area in the morning if needed help for anything. She doesn't speak much English but is very friendly and willing to help. Also, you can text the hotel staff member for assistance if needed via the room tablet provided. They reply quickly.
Amenities: self-service, self luggage storage, only basic items provided. There is no ice maker and only 1 laundry machine on the 1st floor (always being occupied).
All in all, Pros: though the hotel is unmanned, I find it pretty chill, easy and efficient as long as you figure out how things work (not hard at all, perhaps more accessible for younger visitors). Cons: You really have to lower your expectations for everything else. I personally feel it is more like a hostel than a hotel. But considering it is the Hakata area and with this affortable price, can't murmur.
QQYCThe hotel is conveniently located right beside the canal city mall, but it was actually quite a bit of outdoor walking distance from the subway station as the connecting bridge from the mall was closed for some reason. The hotel is very big and each floor has a very long corridor full of rooms. However, the facilities are quite old and the walls are paper thin, I can clearly hear people talking along the corridor. The room was also quite dated and small, and the toilet was really cramped even for 1 person. The bed was really comfortable though. I only stayed for 1 night which i think is more than enough to explore canal city and nearby areas.

IInchThe hotel is about a 15-minute walk from Hakata Station and easy to find, with a Matsuya restaurant conveniently located diagonally opposite. A washing machine is also available on the second floor. Room facilities are decent. However, it seems the duvet covers aren't changed, which is a significant hygiene concern!

HHuijizhiyuanThe balcony is directly above the canal, and next to it is a commercial center, making it convenient for shopping and dining. The environment is quite good. Walking to Hakata Station on a hot day is a bit tiring, but it would be much better if the temperature were lower. It's quite comfortable to drink tea in the sun. Someone mentioned the 𦻒 card group at the front door. 😅 It's a Japanese specialty, but you'll forget about it after seeing it too much. Anyway, the entrance isn't open, so you have to get used to it in Japan. 😅 Running along the river in the morning is a good idea overall, perfect for a family to stay and spend some time. The supermarket across the river to the left of the balcony doesn't have many items, but it's very cost-effective and makes good food. It's better than the supermarket at the back of the mall.
