"Hotel is about 5 mins walking distance from Watanabe-Dori Station. The room was spacious. A couple of convenient stores can be found in vicinity of the hotel. Not too far from the busy Tenjin shopping district. It is also close to Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station, for those intended to travel to Dazaifu or Yanagawa.

"The location is very close to Hakata Station, about a 10-minute walk. The surrounding area is nice. The room isn't huge, but it's just right for two people, well-equipped, clean, and the bed and pillows are comfortable. The front desk staff are polite, efficient, and speak English. Please note, there's an additional accommodation tax of Y200 per person payable upon check-in."

"Facilities: The hotel is quite new, built in '21. I stayed on the fifth floor, and they have an ice machine and a water dispenser, so it's fine even if the room doesn't come with complimentary water. This is also the only hotel where you can request an extra bed and the rooms are 40 square meters. They even store luggage until my next stay. I checked with all the five-star hotels around, and they either had small rooms, expensive rooms, couldn't add a bed, or couldn't store luggage for an extended period. This truly is a major highlight!
Cleanliness: I have to complain about the cleanliness. In room 507, the bathroom sink didn't have a cover, and there were a lot of small flying insects inside. I sprayed mosquito repellent here, and I only realized the extent of the problem when many of them died at the drain opening. My son even got bites on his chest!
Environment: It's super convenient, only about 150 meters from Hakata Chikushi-guchi. Yodobashi Camera is right across the street, so you can shop 'til you drop – it's fantastic! There are also many convenience stores nearby.
Service: The breakfast selection isn't huge, but it's fine for one day. I highly recommend the breakfast coffee; it's very rich."

"I came to Fukuoka and was deciding between the Grand Hyatt and IL Palazzo, considering my budget. After reading online reviews, I decisively chose this place, and it turns out I made the right choice. The location is super convenient; Canal City Hakata is just a 10-15 minute walk away, and there are many dining options nearby. The hotel's decor is very unique, with a bold use of bright colors. After staying in many business-style hotels, it was refreshing to experience something so different. The room type I picked was super spacious – easily enough room to spread out three suitcases. Plus, it had a wet and dry separation bathroom and a huge round bathtub. They even provided two sets of amenities. Every day from 5-7 PM, there's an alcohol buffet with unlimited drinks. The breakfast the next day was also very rich. Overall, I highly recommend it!"

"Hotel is located on streets with many famous eateries and shops amongst local and foreign tourists. Tenjin Minami station on Nanakuma Line is 5-6 mins away on foot. Travelled in 3 pax and coincidentally on the weekend where there was a bunch concert and live shows happening in the city so hotel rate was extra expensive (normal weekend is alr very expensive).. Found this hotel within our budget and can fit 3 pax. Sofa bed was kinda comfortable but not the pillow. More used to firmer latex ones while the one they provided is either polyester or microfiber filled so it was very very very soft! Room was tight when the 3 of us opened our luggage. Shower has good water pressure. There’s also public bath on site. They provide in room water purifier machine too."

"I made a reservation because it is a new hotel established in 2026. The advantage of this hotel is its excellent location; it is visible just 1-2 minutes from Yakuin Station, and there is a 7-Eleven right next door. There were also quite a few local yakitori restaurants nearby. The facilities were modern, and the single rooms were quite spacious. On the second floor, there were vending machines, water purifiers, microwaves, and washing machines, and it was nice to have a place selling takoyaki and karaage right next door. The downsides were that the inside of the elevator was too dark, which felt a bit stuffy and might even feel scary to some. Also, perhaps because it is a new hotel, the smell of fresh wallpaper in the room was very strong, which was off-putting at first. Turning the lights on and off one by one was also a bit of a hassle, and I wished there was a remote control that could turn them all on at once. Additionally, I wish the hotel's information had been more detailed in Korean, and it would have been nice if they had provided information on nearby facilities as well as how to use the facilities inside the room. Overall, considering the reasonable price, it seemed like a good choice in terms of location and facilities, though it was a bit disappointing that there was no air purifier in the room. Also, if the room had been ventilated sufficiently to eliminate the new smell, it would have been a decent place to stay. The accessibility was good as there was a local yakitori restaurant nearby. The amenities were of good quality, self-check-in was simple, and I would likely come back if the price were reasonable."

"The location was good, next to gofukumachi station, but still requires a little bit of transfer if taking the bus. The hotel was not bad, large bed. However I must mention that there is a bad smell coming from the shower. This seems to correspond to previous complaints by other guests. The breakfast was highly competitive and has almost no space for the guests. This said, the breakfast was high quality."

"The Oriental Hotel Fukuoka Hakata Station's biggest selling point is its excellent location. It's just a 1-minute walk from the station exit, with a direct underground passage to the subway, and an airport bus stop right outside. This makes traveling to and from the airport and taking the JR to other parts of Kyushu incredibly convenient, with no hassle even with large luggage. I had to stay an extra day in Fukuoka because my flight was cancelled due to a typhoon, so I chose Fukuoka No. 1. Overall, the room environment was great, with a balcony and ample space. The mini-bar was completely free, and the complimentary snacks were delicious. There's a communal bath, and while it's not a natural hot spring, it's still nice for a relaxing soak.
The Lodge area also offered plenty of free self-service drinks and ice cream. The turndown service was a thoughtful touch, even providing a face mask for each person.
Breakfast was absolutely delicious! It was a combination of à la carte mains and a buffet. I highly recommend the unagi don (eel rice bowl) and the steak!
My only criticisms would be that the front desk is quite small and merges with the bar, which can get chaotic when there are many people. I also found the room price to be a bit high; comparatively, the Hotel Miyako Fukuoka offers better value for money.

Room Facilities ~ very good, the room that I booked has a washing machine.
Room amenities ~ not that great. Basic amenities.
Hotel facilities ~ no swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, but with public bath.
Hotel policy ~ very rigid. Standard check in time is 3pm which is understandable. Arrived at 2.30pm asking to check in slightly earlier but was told cannot. Then I asked the standard check out time which is before 10am. I told them I need to catch early flight so not going to stay until 10am. With that, could I proceed to check in at 2.30pm but was told still cannot. Some other hotels that I stayed in Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, etc. are very accommodating. Some hotels in Taiwan not allowed check in early but at least they will perform the check in process, only could collect key at 3pm. However this hotel just let the guests wait at the lobby without doing anything. Finally they opened the check in counter at 2.50pm.
Breakfast served at 6.30am. Told them I need to rush to airport early morning, whether I could have my breakfast slightly earlier, or pack some food for me to go airport. Again policy and practice not allowed so. Just too rigid. Not flexible.
Breakfast variety okay, but not very good or excellent
Would I still return next time? No, I would rather try other hotels.
With that, I won't return even though the location is good.

It's very close to Gion Station, and about a 5–7 min walk to Kushida Shrine Station and a local supermarket. Canal City Hakata is roughly 10 minutes away on foot. Overall, the location is quite convenient.
**Service & Amenities:**
Special praise for the reception staff—they were proactive, polite, spoke fluent English, and explained everything clearly. The hotel also provides free amenities, including Sekkisei skincare products and bath salts, which was a lovely touch!
**Room & Cleanliness:**
The room is spacious enough to fully open 2 to 3 suitcases. I especially loved the large, clean bathroom with its separate wet and dry areas. Housekeeping did a great job—just make sure to put your request magnet/card on the door before 10 AM.
**Breakfast:**
The food was decent, featuring salads, bread, omelets, sukiyaki, seafood bowls, French toast, and even free-flow wine. Some items require ordering directly from the chef, which caused a bit of a rush due to the crowds, but the staff tried their best to help. Food refills took a little time, so some patience is needed.

お部屋は十分な広さがあり、スーツケースを2〜3個広げることができました。バスルームも広く、清掃が行き届いており、セパレートタイプ（乾湿分離）だったのが最高でした。お掃除の希望は午前10時までにドアに貼っておけば対応してもらえます。
**【朝食】**
味は普通に美味しかったです。サラダ、パン、オムレツ、すき焼き、海鮮丼、フレンチトーストなどのほか、ワインの飲み放題もありました。一部の料理はシェフに直接注文する形式で、混雑時は少し混乱していましたが、スタッフの皆さんは誠心誠意対応してくれました。料理の補充には少し時間がかかるため、少し待つ必要があります。

There is a restaurant on the ground floor, 7-eleven is just a few mins away, and you can get toiletries near the reception. Self-service luggage storage is also available for use after checkout, super convenient!

Guest UserThe location was superb as it's just a few steps away from the underground entrance to the metro. There's also a 24Hr supermarket just minutes walk from the hotel above ground or if it's raining you can take the metro underground walkway which will also get you right to the entrance of supermarket. There are a few drug stores nearby (for medicine / cosmetics) and some open till 9pm or even midnight. It's only a very short walk to get to Canal city shopping area which has an array of shops and dinning options.
We stayed for 5 nights and breakfast was included in our room rate and it was very good with a decent amount of choices (we ended up eating there 4/5 mornings). Although the dinning area was not very big so if you're there during peak hours there could be a bit of a wait.
The room was a standard 'Dormy' room that you'd expect in almost any other Dormy Inn but for this particular hotel we felt the cleaning needs a bit of work. We have a habit of wiping down the shelves / tables before placing our things and even after three rounds of wiping with wet cloth / tissue it's still grey which shook us a bit.

Caruso’sGreat location! The hotel is right next to Hakata Station, making it super convenient for getting around. The airport shuttle stop/terminal is also just steps away, and the ride to or from Fukuoka Airport only takes about 20–25 minutes.
One unexpected bonus was the massage chair in the room — perfect for a tired traveler after a long day. (Note: not all rooms have massage chairs, so it’s worth checking when you book.)

Guest UserI stayed in Fukuoka for a total of three nights on this trip: two nights in Fukuoka, then one night in Beppu after checking out, and finally back to Fukuoka for another night. To avoid taking my luggage to Beppu, I booked the same hotel, but with two different room types. The standard double room was actually better than the slightly larger room. The bathroom had no strange odors, and while it was a bit smaller (though still relatively large for Japan), the layout was more practical and didn't interfere with placing my luggage. The hotel offers self-service luggage storage, but it's not for overnight. After speaking with the front desk, they kindly allowed me to store my suitcase at the reception given my situation.

Anonymous UserGetting there: It's about a 10-minute walk from Tenjin subway station, which can be a bit of a hassle with luggage because Fukuoka's terrain isn't always flat, especially on a rainy day. However, Tenjin shopping district is right outside the subway station, with lots of fun things to do, and there's also a train station where you can catch a ride to Dazaifu! After you exit the hotel alley, one way leads to Tenjin shopping district and the other to Canal City Hakata. There's even a huge 24-hour gachapon store along the way. Plus, there are tons of restaurants and izakayas right next to the hotel, which is super convenient.
Cost: !!! You have to pay a 200 yen accommodation tax per night upon check-in. I was a bit confused because I didn't have to pay this at hotels in Osaka or Kyoto.
Lobby: They offer free mango juice and fruit tea, which are really good. It's very quiet, and there's a Korean staff member at the front desk you can converse with in Korean. They also provide various amenities, including makeup remover, toner, and lotion.
Room: Very quiet and clean.
Surroundings: There's a Lawson convenience store right around the corner that has a currency exchange machine. I recommend exchanging your money there before you leave, as Fukuoka has very few currency exchange machines, and even Hakata JR station doesn't have one.
I would consider staying here again.

SigmundIIIWe booked a 2 futon tatami room. The futons are comfortable and the cushion is good. The room was not big but there was also air conditioning and a small fridge, a table and a small tv.
The staff is really polite and there are a lot of free amenities that you can get including tea, razor and toothbrush with a small toothpaste.
There is free breakfast but it's not incredible. I would say it's an ok breakfast.
Overall for the price we paid (120 euros total for 3 nights for 2 people) it's a good option.
There is a small foreigners accommodation tax to pay at the reception, make sure to bring some cash.
