GGuest UserThe minshu is located within walking distance to the picturesque Yulong River and Ten Mile Painting tour area, super convenient. What I like most of this accommodation is their personal service. Their staff is always there taking care of us- with your info, and helping with luggages and booking. They don't charge commission in booking show for us, e. g. Siu Tao is the best, a natural in service industry. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

AAnonymous UserA trainee checked us in and assigned #1005. Upon entering, we noticed a strong cigarette odor. The front desk was courteous and offered two alternative rooms, but both had similar lingering smells. Housekeeping provided an air purifier, which helped somewhat. We also observed guests smoking in the hallway, so the odor seems to be an ongoing issue. As non-smokers who are sensitive to smoke, this was a significant drawback and not something we typically encounter with international hotel brands.
There was also some confusion during payment. After showing us the rooms, the trainee realized we had not been charged and brought a POS machine to the room, which did not have a signal. We eventually had to go downstairs and complete three separate transactions via Alipay. Note that Alipay charges a ~3% service fee on transactions over ¥200 when using international cards, which may be inconvenient for some travelers. I have been using my Visa at global hotel brands for over a month and encountered no issues.
One frustrating moment was when housekeeping insisted there was no cigarette odor. We understand that perceptions may differ, but it’s important to acknowledge guest feedback, especially for those sensitive to smoke.
The bed was comfortable, and sound insulation was average. Despite being on the 10th floor, we could hear traffic noise as well as our neighbors talking and moving furniture. Wi-Fi was also quite slow (2.4 GHz only), with speeds in the teens for both upload and download. Light switches were complicated with options like London, Paris. New York, etc. The hotel isn't a new built and used to be another hotel as you can see from their mugs, towels, etc. Note to myself to book for newly built, not newly opened.
The hotel offered us a complimentary breakfast on the 12th floor. The selection was primarily Chinese (about 95%), with minimal Western options. None of the items were labeled, which could be challenging for international guests and those with dietary restrictions.
Laundry service is available, either self-service or through staff. However, communication was difficult and the interaction felt unnecessarily complicated. The staff who collected our clothes was talking so loudly that my husband thought we were arguing. In hindsight, we should have done the laundry ourselves
The hotel is within a 10 minute walking distance to a food street that has tons of eateries that locals go. It will be difficult to order in non Chinese.
Overall, the hotel does not appear to cater well to non-Chinese-speaking guests. Per my husband, despite using the translation app, basic requests (asking for an umbrella) were difficult without Mandarin, which made the experience more tiring.
During check out, the front desk offered some dried fruit as a gift and reminded us to give a 5 star rating on everything. This is a common request as we experienced it at a previous hotel. This is our 4th local hotel throughout the 6 weeks visit in China.
In summary, while the stay was acceptable, the persistent cigarette odor and communication challenges would prevent us from choosing a similar local hotel again.

MMarvin ZacariasWow, my first ever trip to Yangshuo, and it was spectacular. I had a lot of hotels to choose from, but I’m glad I picked this place. It’s close to West Street and a beautiful park. For the price, it’s amazing!
The breakfast isn’t a buffet—it’s rice noodles, a half sandwich, watermelon, dumplings a hard-boiled egg, and sweet potato.(see picture) It’s filling but not exciting. The main thing I liked was the coffee machine. You can drink coffee to your heart’s content in their canteen, which looks so pretty and modern. The room is clean too, with a nice bed and a good mountain view. Plus, there are VIP shows and movies! And I have to say, this was amazing for us because, unfortunately, during our stay in Yangshuo, it was raining all day. So we watched Zootopia and other Disney movies for free—so comfortable!The shower pressure is strong, and the soundproofing is amazing—literally like magic. When we first entered the room, the window was left open, and we heard so much traffic outside. Then we closed the window, and all of that was gone. I loved that!
Now for the downsides: There’s a weird flaw with the shower door—it’s so small, and the door is designed to push in instead of pull, which is strange. The shower head gets stuck on the door, so it’s a bit cramped. We turned on the ”Do Not Disturb” button for our room, and from the outside, you could clearly see it was on properly, but the housekeepers decided to clean our room anyway. Inside our room, it made us feel a bit awkward, as they had a little box with a QR code that sold adult toys and condoms 😶
Other than that, it was a comfortable two-day stay in Yangshuo. I would stay here again. The service at the front desk was nice too—the two ladies were helpful and explained a lot about Yangshuo and the hotel’s amenities. They even helped us book a bus to Guilin train station. They were nice and helpful. Thank you!

Tteo.boyerThe location of this hotel is simply magical, right in the heart of the Longji rice fields. However, the language barrier was a real challenge. Even with a translator, communication was often limited to “hello” and “yes,” which made it difficult to organize activities or transportation. The included breakfast, on the other hand, was excellent and very generous. As for the skylight in the room, which was supposed to offer a view of the sky, it acts like a mirror in the evening... too bad!

GGuest UserThis hotel is super convenient, just a 5-minute walk from Longtoushan Pier – perfect after getting off the Li River 3-star cruise. It's located on Binjiang Road, so it's quiet at night, but still only about a 10-minute walk to West Street. The restaurant on the first floor serves really good food, offering great value for money and tasting much better than the beer fish you find everywhere in Yangshuo. The room facilities are complete, and everything is clean and hygienic. The Li River is right outside the hotel, making for a lovely evening stroll. It's also quite close to the Ten-Mile Gallery and Yulong River rafting – you can easily get there by renting an electric scooter. Five stars! ⭐⭐⭐

CChaziyanhong1980The tall lady at the front desk was so welcoming and attentive. My original room was on the second floor, but I wanted a room on the third. She advised me to check it out first, as there would be an extra charge. I decided against it and went back to the second-floor room, only to find the air conditioner's outdoor unit was too close and noisy. She then promptly moved me to a quieter room, and she didn't show an ounce of annoyance throughout the whole process! The room's bathroom was spotless, and the breakfast restaurant was also clean and aesthetically pleasing, with a great breakfast to boot! There was always someone available to help with luggage when going up or down. Plus, they have their own private staircase directly into the Elephant Trunk Hill scenic area!

TTangshuifanmaijiThe facilities are indeed as shown in the preview video. However, once inside, I can't quite pinpoint why, but it felt much smaller than I expected. I booked it during the off-season for 588, and the only thing I can truly praise is the excellent service from the staff! Lying at the foot of the bed and looking out the window, the view is still very beautiful! Secondly, there are very few power outlets by the bed. With one voice assistant on each side, only one double socket on the other side was usable. There were extra USB ports, but the charging speed was very slow. The shampoo was a bit difficult to use; it made my hair very dry, though thankfully it came with a conditioner from the same brand, which was incredibly hard to squeeze out. The hotel's location is very convenient for sightseeing; the archway visible outside the window in the pictures is the entrance to the scenic area.

GGuest UserOur stay was excellent! My mom kept raving about how clean the hotel was, the spacious room, and the great service. We originally booked a room in Building B, but the front desk staff upgraded us to Building A because we had a lot of luggage and my mom is older. Building A has an elevator, which was very convenient. The room had a lovely minimalist, natural wood style – exactly what I like – and a small balcony. The balcony faced the mountains, so the air was fresh, and we could hear birds chirping. My mom and I really enjoyed sitting out there and having tea. There's a huge rooftop terrace with breathtaking views of the mountains and the river. The hotel is super close to West Street, about a 30-meter walk, but despite West Street being bustling, the hotel itself was very quiet. I'd definitely stay here again next time and recommend it to my friends. Overall, a fantastic experience! It's also very close to all the surrounding scenic spots.

WWeishenmeyaoweinanxiaomaoneOverall, I'd say my experience was pretty average for a four-star hotel. Aside from the service, which was genuinely good, even excellent, there's not much else to praise, and some aspects were actually quite poor.
My biggest frustration was the power outage on my first night – it happened twice! Once around 9:30 PM and again around 12:30 AM. I had just finished showering and was about to blow-dry my hair when the power suddenly went out. I had to use my phone light to find my way to dry off. What if an elderly person or a child was in that situation? The first time it happened, I called the front desk, and the power was restored quickly, but I was really angry that it happened a second time.
Secondly, there's the showerhead. Even putting aside the somewhat outdated facilities (though this was an upgraded room, as the original one I booked had even older facilities – the hotel did a good job of letting me choose a better room, which was appreciated). The water temperature for showering wasn't great. Not only did cold water come out for a short while even when turned to the hottest setting, but the water itself wasn't very hot, and the water pressure was very low. It was tolerable for showering, but certainly not comfortable. Also, despite having two showerheads, the switch to alternate between them seemed broken, as both would dispense water no matter how I adjusted it. This wasn't a huge issue, but it was annoying to look at.
Thirdly, the central air conditioning was clearly very old and hadn't been updated. It was dirty, covered in dust, and the airflow was terrible – there was absolutely no warm air. I didn't test the cold air. Although I reported it, the front desk did bring up a portable heater for me.
The cleanliness was okay; no noticeable dust or trash. The service, as I mentioned, was genuinely good. I had breakfast one day, and it was decent enough – not too many choices, but not too few either. However, the issues with the facilities really impacted my overall experience.
