AAnonymous UserTraveling with my mini poodle for almost a month, Guilin was our last stop:
- The location is pretty good. You drive through fields to reach the gate, and inside there's a large green area.
- The hotel claims to have opened in 2026, but judging by its appearance, it's either a rebranding or a change of ownership. It looks about 80-90% new. The outdoor landscaping, however, is still under construction.
- Parking was a mess (just park anywhere, no one cares).
- The room interior was nice, but unfortunately, the floor-to-ceiling window was covered in dead insects – a colorful, large patch.
- The large bathtub by the window was purely decorative. I personally don't mind, but I was worried a nosy auntie from the next balcony might see something.
- The most disappointing part was breakfast. They said dogs aren't allowed because it's an enclosed space... I looked at the huge restaurant, with all its glass doors and windows open, facing the pool. There were only 5 or 6 people, and a dozen tables were empty.
- Fine, I thought. Many restaurants don't allow dogs. So I asked if we could just have a separate table, far away, maybe twenty meters, so we wouldn't disturb anyone. Plus, with all the glass doors open, it was breezy from three sides. But the front desk just said, 'No, it's an enclosed space, it would bother others.'
- Well, what else could I do? We just left without eating.
- It's listed as 'pet-friendly' on Trip.com. I guess they're just trying to grab whatever business they can during the off-season. Being 'pet-friendly' is just a click of a button for them.
- It's a complete scam, pretending to be pet-friendly while not actually delivering.
- We checked out early and drove home. On the way, I checked my phone and saw several calls (including texts) from Trip.com and the hotel, offering to waive one night's fee. Seriously?! I'm not short a few hundred yuan; I just want to leave a review!
- This isn't an over-the-top review. I just want to express that if they can't genuinely be 'pet-friendly,' why bother with the false advertising? It's a waste of everyone's time.
