Pet Friendly Hotels in Guilin

LOCATION: Trip.com showed this stay as very close to the cable-car (Jinkeng terrace). That was the main reason for us to choose this place. But, on arrival, we found that this accommodation is about ~19 km far from the cable car station. So, it was an accidental choice for us. Nevertheless, this gave us an opportunity to enjoy this stay – free from hustle-bustle, no regrets. We realized the serenity of this place after visiting Dazhai! 😊 TRAVEL: Foreigners with family and kids. We traveled to the Longji Terraces from Yangshuo by 13:30 bus. It took us about 4 hours. Although we booked the ticket to Dazhai (last stop), we got off the bus at the Jinzhu intersection. The driver knows the hotel and its staff. I did reach out to Ms. Liao Yanzhen (aka Jane) through WeChat (same number as in Trip.com) before starting the journey. She informed the bus driver about us & it helped us a lot. ACCOMMODATION: It is located uphill from the Jinzhu intersection – about 15-minute walk. Since we had luggage, Ms. Jane arranged for a car to carry all our luggage to/from the stay. ROOM: Spacious, clean, and well-maintained. Depending on the room type, a balcony view helps. I had the valley view, which was very nice early in the morning. The room is built on a treehouse concept with modern bath and restroom facilities. It had a kettle, WiFi, etc., all that comes with a standard reservation. FOOD: Received the menu available and the price per item through WeChat. The common dining area is spacious. Food portions were large and tasty! For the hotel location, the cost is reasonable. STAFF: All are very friendly and do their best to make your stay comfortable. We managed all our interactions through the translator app. They surprised the kids with popcorn! During our stay, we played cards after dinner for a few hours in the common area, and the staff were kind enough to help us with table and chairs. Also, on the last day, they showed us their traditional way of preparing food and the ingredients. ONLY SUGGESTION to the hotel: please address the door noise. It is too loud and annoying for occupants as well as neighbors.

Every time I visit, I stay in Jishui, and this trip was particularly surprising. I discovered another hidden gem of a hotel! The view outside the window was like a blockbuster movie. I checked in with my two kids, and the butler thoughtfully upgraded us to a family room. Sitting by the window, everything just slowed down. Watching the mountains shrouded in mist during the light rain was truly relaxing. My little girl's comment, 'It's so clear!' perfectly described the room! I originally chose this room because it had a washer-dryer, but I never expected so many pleasant surprises after checking in. The afternoon tea was also delicious, and my two kids enjoyed it very much 👍. I especially loved the tea brewed with red dates and passion fruit. The restaurant also had Guilin rice noodles. It was the first time my kids tried Guilin rice noodles, and they both ate so much, basically a large bowl each. For me, seeing my kids unlock new food experiences, try new ingredients, and be happy and satisfied is the surprise I wanted. From now on, their standard for Guilin rice noodles will be based on this, haha! The hotel is very clean, and the tidiness feels absolutely five-star. It's on par with, if not better than, the InterContinental next door in terms of service, and the view is definitely superior. Plus, with all these additional services, it's a perfect choice and a perfect trip. I've saved this hidden gem of a hotel and have already recommended it to my friends.

The room is quite spacious with complete facilities, and the panoramic window offers a great view. The only downside was that it was fully booked during the Mid-Autumn Festival, so we only got a second-floor room. There's a small golf course less than 5 meters away on the opposite rooftop, which somewhat compromised privacy. I imagine this wouldn't be an issue on the third floor and above. The service was very attentive, and the buffet food was quite good for a B&B, around a 4-star standard. We even received a small gift when we checked out. Its location near the old street pier makes it convenient for Yulong River rafting.

This is one of the best-located hotels I've stayed in during my seven or eight visits to Yangshuo. It's directly facing the Yulong River and the karst peaks, and every room has a view. The rooftop terrace is absolutely stunning for sunset. During the day, no motorized vehicles are allowed into the Ten-Mile Gallery scenic area, so it's incredibly quiet. Renting an e-scooter makes it really convenient to visit attractions like the Big Banyan Tree and Moon Hill. The amenities are top-notch; the bathroom fixtures are Kohler, and the bedding is very comfortable. I had a very satisfying stay.

Misled by Trip.com. Paid about 1200 CNY for two days and ended up in a rural guesthouse in the mountains, which was misleadingly listed as a hotel. Dianping (a local review app) was more honest, showing it as a guesthouse. I should have stayed in Yangshuo West Street instead; there were plenty of options for that price. The photos were drastically different from the actual experience. It was more like a two-star place in the city, perhaps? The exterior was even less appealing than other guesthouses, but the lobby was spacious and simple. The rooms were small. It had six floors, with about 5 rooms per floor. The room was small and had a rustic, 'village' feel. My child didn't even want to stay after opening the door and asked why I booked this place. It was totally photo-shopped. Plus, transportation in Yangshuo is inconvenient, and taxis overcharge. We had to tough it out for two days. I saw the photos on Trip.com and thought it would be a minimalist and chic hotel like All Seasons, but it was just a peasant's house. The bathroom had random trash cans. You could hear people talking outside the door. This place feels more like accommodation attached to a restaurant. Trip.com actually listed it as a hotel. I shouldn't just rely on reviews in the future. When we were taking a taxi out from here, the driver mentioned he was worried about oncoming traffic. That's when I realized the road in this deep mountain valley was only suitable for single-lane traffic. We even had to pull over twice for others. On October 4th, it was raining, and we couldn't get a taxi no matter what. We walked to the entrance of 'Romantic Show' and finally got a taxi for 78 CNY, which took an hour to get to Ruyi Peak. From Ruyi Peak to Silver Cave, we entered at 5 PM and by 7 PM, it was dark. The sky had cleared up, but there was no way to get a taxi back to Yangshuo. We were quoted 120 CNY for a 40-minute drive to the theater. It was a very poor experience. The most satisfying part of the 1200 CNY room rate was the bowl of Guilin rice noodles served for breakfast. Also, the beer fish set meal we bought separately at the hotel was generous in portion and clearly offered better value than the accommodation itself. After booking, it's essential to check both Trip.com and Dianping. Both the accommodation and transportation were extremely disappointing. You need to think carefully before staying in the mountains. For the same price, it's better to find a proper hotel. Always, always look at the exterior photos of the hotel, the outdoor shots. Seeing the outdoor exterior photos can largely help in making a judgment.

Overall, the experience was excellent, exceeding my expectations. The hotel environment was clean and tidy, with no unpleasant odors in the corridors and public areas, which made me feel very safe. The room was spacious enough, with simple and elegant decor. The bed was just the right firmness, and the pillows were very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The bathroom was spotless, with all necessary toiletries provided, and hot water was readily available. The front desk staff were warm and polite, patiently answering any questions and responding quickly. The location is excellent, with a bus stop right outside and many shopping areas nearby, making dining and shopping very convenient. The price-performance ratio is very high compared to similar hotels. My stay was very comfortable, and I would definitely recommend it and stay here again.

I arrived in Guilin from Kunming late after 12 am and there is no tourist information counter staff at the airport to tell me where to wait for the hotel's airport transfer driver. Fortunately an airline check-in counter officer helped me call the hotel to find out where to wait for the driver. Please note wait for the driver next to the police kiosk after leaving Gate 6 of the domestic arrival terminal and crossing the lane. It took me 15 minutes to identify the driver because the driver did not show the placard showing the hotel name Shanshuiyunshang Hotel. The driver was impatiently waiting for a foreign tourist. So I identified myself as a Singaporean looking for the transfer driver of the hotel. He replied that I can follow him, who did not declare the hotel's name. Thank God he brought a group of tourists and me to Shanshuiyunshang Hotel to check-in. I also thank God that the driver escorts me to the Airport Flower Field, which is 569 metres away from the hotel, for plane-spotting, and I walk back to the hotel within 10 minutes to check-out of the hotel for my outgoing trip from Guilin after completing my plane-spotting mission. Other than the hotel airport transfer driver, there is the odour of smoke in the room but I have to bear with it until I leave and I cannot access the hotel wifi by scanning the QR code. The hotel restaurant is very small but dragonfruit is served and the breakfast amount is sufficient to fill my hunger. Shanshuiyunshang Hotel is one of several hotels along the road of Liangjiang Town that has accommodation for tourists but this hotel is the only one in Liangjiang Town to be listed on Trip.com. I will stay here again for the purpose of plane-spotting in Liangjiang Town, the famous airport town of Guangxi.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay here. I went out of season, so I was the one of the only guests for two days, this made if even more special. if you travel during rainy season make sure to have rainboots and rain proof coats etc. The nights and mornings can get very cold so prepare warm clothes. The family helped me from booking a local shuttle bus from Yangshuo to arrive and departing and also picked me up on my day of arrival from the park entrance. The Homestay is quite far up the hills, not very easy to find you need to carpool or ask owners to help with scooter ride, but the views and people make it all the worthwhile. It is close to many hiking trails and view points. The family welcomed me with so much love the room was exactly as it said. Their food and pricing is also very affordable. They family is of the local ethnicity and they gave me an up-close view in their lives and their traditional ways. I tasted their rice wine, chilli paste , traditional tea and bamboo rice and many other delicious foods. The owners and family are very helpful and if you have any questions, or want to know more of need to get to a certain part of the area they are happy to help. This family and their black dog filled my heart with so much love and gratitude. Note for for foreign travelers: They don't speak English, but do not let this scare you if you are a foreigner, translator apps are helpful if you can't understand the language. Overall, I highly recommend if you are looking for a peaceful, tranquil and family-like feeling enjoy the outdoors and nature. I will definitely be going back!

The room was fantastic, and the floor-to-ceiling windows were amazing! The view outside was picturesque, and you could lie in bed and watch the sunrise in the morning 🌅. The hotel's location is also very convenient—it's only a 10-minute walk from the Longtoushan Pier, where the Guilin-Yangshuo cruises dock. The hotel breakfast was great too, offering Guilin rice noodles, steamed buns, rice cake, shumai, soy milk, congee, eggs, and more. There were many foreign guests at the hotel who also highly praised the service. It has a very international feel.

Home alike guesthouse! The staffs were super friendly and looked after us like we are part of the family. Breakfast was better than other restaurants and we found out the chilli sauce and few ingredients were homemade. I’m still craving for their Mi Fen in soup🤤 The room is clean and spacious - the bed is just perfect! I will defo stay here again whenever I’m in Guilin again. If you are traveling as a big pack you should defo consider here. Although, a reminder for foreign travelers please prepare your translation app to communicate with the staff which would make it so much easier to understand each other. They definitely want to help you to enjoy their town. I really hope everyone would enjoy here as much as us!
