Ffernanda9The room was very clean and the environment was quiet. Xiao Bai (the staff) was very nice and upgraded us to a higher room category. Before we left, they even gave our child some small seashells, which was a very thoughtful touch.
The hotel breakfast was delicious, especially the Shacha noodles, which were tastier than any we'd had in the days before arriving on the island. The complimentary lunch included in the package was also very good, though the yellow croaker was a bit small, just one tiny fish.
At the end of September, when tourist traffic wasn't heavy, we arrived on the island at 11 AM. The shuttle service was perfectly arranged, helping us avoid the scorching sun. We later found out that a shuttle ride on the island costs 50 RMB per person, so for our family of three, we saved a good 150 RMB.
Most of the snacks on the island were just okay, but the Dayang Restaurant was quite good.
If you have the time, staying on the island is definitely recommended. You can avoid the midday sun and take your kids to play by the beach in the afternoon. Strolling around the island in the evening makes this a very high-value-for-money place.
Xiamen offers a resort experience similar to Sanya, yet also gives you the illusion of wandering through the streets and alleys of a small Hong Kong or Macau island.

GGuest UserThis hotel is a very unique and historic building on Gulangyu Island, and it's right next to the famous Bagua Building, making it perfect for photos with unbeatable scenery.
Qipao dress-up experience [Republic of China style]: Wearing a qipao for photos inside the hotel was fantastic and produced some truly beautiful shots.
Service: The hotel's young staff member was very helpful with our luggage and recommended some great restaurants (both places we tried were delicious with a nice atmosphere).

AAnonymous UserThe room was bright, clean, practical, and fully equipped. In this day and age where everyone's glued to their phones, I was pleasantly surprised to find a projector in the room. Watching shows in a dimly lit environment was great, and there were plenty of programs to choose from.
The complimentary breakfast was excellent! There was congee, five or six hot and cold side dishes, fried noodles, steamed dumplings, mini steamed buns, twisted rolls, regular steamed buns, and eggs – a good variety of nutritious and delicious options.
The front desk staff were incredibly helpful, patient, and thorough, answering all my questions.
The shuttle driver was efficient, considerate, and a fantastic driver.
Overall, it was a great experience, and I'd definitely stay here again.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel environment is impeccable, with spacious public areas and beautiful birdsong and flowers. Perched on a hill, I was woken up every morning around 5 or 6 by the chirping of various birds. It's about a 15-minute walk to Xiamen University and Putuo Temple, though it's uphill and a bit tiring, but taxis are quite convenient. The room was also very large, with a bedroom offering a distant view of the rooftops of Xiamen University. All in-room facilities were well-equipped. While I wouldn't delve too deeply into the cleanliness details, it was acceptable, but the sound of water running from the rooms above or next door was particularly noisy. The service was excellent, with prompt responses to all requests! Overall, I was satisfied, with one exception: the breakfast was too basic. It felt like it cost less than five yuan to make, truly the most perfunctory breakfast I've ever had in decades of staying at hotels. We ended up ordering takeout for the kids for both days, so I don't think it's worth booking a rate that includes breakfast. I'd like to offer a suggestion to the hotel: with such a great location and environment, it should strive for perfection by putting more thought into improving the breakfast. For tourists, a hearty breakfast is truly important. If a buffet isn't feasible due to cost-cutting, at least the set menu could be more varied, instead of just offering a bowl of congee and one or two pre-made buns every day, which is quite unappetizing.

**Price:** Great value for money, perfect for a layover, and they offer free shuttle service to the airport in the morning. The room was comfortable and spacious, with a very large bed.
**Convenience:** There's a self-service laundry room. The disinfectant wipes in the bathroom were a definite plus, and the delivery robot brought my food up to the room quite quickly.
**The Most Important Part:** The staff provided incredibly personal and caring service.
I especially want to commend the two ladies and one gentleman who worked the evening and night shifts on May 15th. First, when I checked in, I had a lot of packages, and they were very patient helping me find them. Second, when I went downstairs to pick up my takeout, my eyes suddenly started watering uncontrollably and I couldn't open them. The lady at the front desk was incredibly gentle and insisted that the gentleman take me to the laundry room to rinse my eyes. He noticed my eyes were swollen and suggested I get anti-inflammatory eye drops. When we returned to the lobby, the lady then offered me tissues and checked in on me. All of this made me feel incredibly warm and cared for.
The front desk lady the next morning (May 16th) was also wonderful. Before the airport shuttle, she called to remind me to come downstairs. Then, in the lobby, she helped push my luggage and even loaded it into the car. She was very diligent and responsible.
Overall, everything was fantastic for this price point. Highly recommend!

ZzyoukoThe French-style cabinet and desk have so much character! All the furniture, including the large wardrobe, isn't brand new but feels well-made and meticulously maintained. On the first floor, they offer 24-hour freshly ground coffee and lemonade, which made it feel almost like home, even though I was away. I really found what I was looking for – it was incredibly comfortable and great value for money. A very satisfying stay!

GGuest UserOur group of five booked the duplex loft, which was incredibly spacious with two floors. The room design had a wonderful French vintage feel, and the solid wood furniture paired with warm yellow lighting made it as cozy as home. The hostel is a renovated century-old building, but there was absolutely no strange odor, and the cleaning was meticulously done. The rooftop terrace is a shared space with sofas and greenery; sitting there in the evening, enjoying the breeze and the night view, was so comfortable we didn't want to leave. The location is perfect, right at Zhongshan Road 210, with the subway entrance just steps away. Taking a taxi to the Botanical Garden or Xiamen University was also inexpensive. The staff were very friendly, and they even gave us a small gift upon check-out. Very satisfied!

It even had a smart toilet, and both the air conditioning and TV were fully automated, which was incredibly convenient. Getting a taxi nearby was a breeze too. This place offers excellent value for money, and the front desk service was also very good.

Room is big and comfortable and clean and very generous to supplies 4 bottles of mineral water.
There are two Seashine hotel in Siming District. So when taking a taxi be sure to mention the Seashine hotel at road 819 because there is another Seashine hotel at Siming District. And the address shown in the hotel card was so small, taxi driver hardly can see. We don't know mandarin so we requested the front desk to write down the address big enough for the taxi driver to read.
I enjoy the breakfast as there's plenty of choices even the famous sha cha mian and the peanut soup was available there. If you love coffee, their coffee is very strong....I love it.
Definitely recommend this hotel as the price is also very affordable for a 4 star hotel .
