"The place was absolutely clean and organized. Probably one of the cleanest places I have been to. The beautiful decor and smart technology integrated in the room elevated the overall experience. The exquisite mountain view was the cherry on top. The hotel is located near Shapowei, so there’s many great food options nearby. Also, there’s a mall that’s only a couple of steps away. The manager contacted me daily via WeChat to ensure that my needs were met. I have nothing bad to say about this place. It was a pleasure to stay in this hotel."

GGuest UserFrom the moment we booked the room, a dedicated butler group was created for us. They bought our round-trip ferry tickets, and upon disembarking, a butler was waiting at the pier to help with our luggage—we didn't have to carry anything ourselves. Our butler, Isak, was incredibly thoughtful. He not only planned a route to Gulangyu Island that avoided the crowds, but also went out to buy me medicine when he knew I wasn't feeling well. This friend-like care was so heartwarming.
The room's details were impeccable: Aesop toiletries, a Wenxian turndown fragrance, a handwritten welcome note, a complimentary minibar, and even a different set of Gulangyu poems on gold-flecked paper by the bedside each day. The turndown service drew the curtains, lit the aromatherapy, and even prepared a meditation chair—truly taking ”natural healing” to the extreme.

AAnonymous UserThe room was very spacious and had a lovely Japanese aesthetic. The bathroom and shower were perfectly separated into two small, distinct rooms, which was great. The living area was also quite large, and opening the window revealed a refreshing green view – very pleasing to the eye. On top of that, it was an excellent spot for travel photos. Even when it rained, the photographer patiently waited for us for a while, which was a big thumbs up! 👍

GGuest UserMy friend and I stayed on the island for five days and four nights. I've been to Gulangyu a few times before, so I have a love-hate relationship with its old houses. While they're beautiful, they often lack a certain refinement, and many have that typical musty, damp smell when you open the door. This time, staying at Linggan Anyu absolutely blew us away. We were amazed by the impeccable service, the exquisitely tasteful decor, the meticulous attention to detail, and the fact that despite being an old house, the air was fresh with no hint of mustiness. The meticulous cleaning staff also impressed us. In short, everything was wonderful – it was my most comfortable stay ever. It made me realize that even for B&Bs, professional hotel management is key to a truly pleasant experience. Thank you to everyone at Linggan Hotel for your hard work; as an island enthusiast, I'll definitely be back!

My family and I had a truly wonderful stay at the Gulangyu Seaview Hotel (Sanqiutian Wharf, Longtou Road Commercial Street branch).
First and foremost, I want to extend a special thanks to the hotel team for their warm and thoughtful service. Since my mother, who was traveling with us, is elderly and has mobility issues, the hotel not only proactively upgraded our room for free but also very thoughtfully provided a complimentary wheelchair rental service. This was incredibly helpful for a family traveling with an elder and made our Gulangyu trip much easier.
The front desk staff were also very professional and enthusiastic. During check-in, they took the initiative to tell us about local promotions and gave us some coupons, which helped us save some money during our trip. These seemingly small details really made us feel that the hotel genuinely cares about its guests.
Furthermore, the front desk recommended a local restaurant to us. It turned out to be an excellent recommendation! The food was delicious, allowing us to taste authentic local flavors, and it added many wonderful memories to our trip.
What touched me even more was how friendly and kind the hotel owner himself was. He initiated conversations with us, sharing his past travel experiences in Sabah, Malaysia. The whole conversation was relaxed and pleasant; it felt less like talking to a hotel owner and more like chatting with an old friend I'd known for years.
This sincere and natural interaction made us feel a strong sense of human kindness, making our stay exceptionally warm and memorable.
The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, close to Sanqiutian Wharf and Longtou Road Commercial Street, making it easy to visit attractions and enjoy local cuisine. The rooms were comfortable and tidy, making for a very pleasant stay.
Many hotels have beautiful rooms, but what truly makes guests want to return is the service and warmth. Gulangyu Seaview Hotel not only provided a comfortable accommodation environment but also made me feel genuine care and warm hospitality.
Thank you again to the hotel team for their care, to the front desk staff for their enthusiastic assistance and thoughtful recommendations, and especially to the owner for his warm hospitality, complimentary room upgrade, and free wheelchair rental for my mother. These thoughtful arrangements made our trip even more relaxed and enjoyable.
If I have the opportunity to visit Gulangyu again in the future, I will definitely stay here again and will not hesitate to recommend it to my friends and family.

GGuest UserI was looking forward to this hotel after seeing the pictures and reviews on trip.com, but it left a lot to be desired.
-They don’t provide large towels by default. I assumed they forgot my towels, then when I asked they brought me a set but showed me the disposable ones that were sitting in the room. I couldn’t believe they offer the tiniest, thinnest packets and think that’s an acceptable replacement for normal towels. At this price point, that shouldn’t be a reality anywhere in the world— after countless dozens of hotels I’ve stayed at in China that’s the first time I’ve witnessed such a thing.
-They leave the toilet scrubber in the bathroom too, which I also never saw after countless hotels in China; clearly that’s an antiquated practice and doesn’t inspire confidence in the cleanliness of a room. Cleaning tools like that shouldn’t be stored in the guest rooms.
-The city view was okay but the window was filthy
-The room is no-smoking but they leave an ash tray
My booked room says the 20th floor— when I arrived, I lugged my heavy bags to the 20th floor, but they immediately redirected me; we went back down, exited the building to another one nearby, then they checked me into an old room on a 10th floor. I didn’t understand why they did this (that room reeked of smoke too), then we packed everything up and went right back to the original building, to the 20th floor like I booked. Clearly that could have been avoided if they communicated to me the reason for the switch (they said afterwards they were upgrading me to a bigger room? But it was nearly the same size and the 10th floor one was just older, smellier and clearly a downgrade. Odd decision on their part). I’m not sure if this hotel does the delivery robot like most others, I doubt it.
Luckily I came to town a day early, so the extra day I booked allowed me to see the condition of the hotel and I was able to cancel the rest of the stay I had booked— but for a fee of over 500rmb. The vast majority of Chinese hotels on this site offer free cancellations but this one was costly. I switched immediately to a brand hotel to be safe— there are countless other options in Xiamen at similar prices, I’d have to recommend looking elsewhere.

GGuest UserThis stay truly exceeded my expectations! The hotel thoughtfully arranged a shuttle bus to the concert, and getting back by direct subway was super convenient. Parking right at the hotel entrance was a huge plus, making it completely stress-free. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and helpful, promptly assisting with any issues and showing a wonderful attitude. The convenient laundry room meant I didn't need to pack much for a one or two-day trip, making things easy and hassle-free. The room also came with disposable towels, which felt clean and hygienic and gave me peace of mind. Overall, the environment is comfortable and the amenities are comprehensive. Highly recommend staying here!

IitsnotlkyThe hotel is newly opened, so all the facilities are brand new. The color scheme is fresh and beautiful, perfectly matching the seaside vibe. The rooms are well-equipped, and having two bathrooms is very convenient for families. The kids' suite has a treehouse that my child absolutely loved, and there's also an outdoor playground downstairs.
Everything was clean and tidy, simply impeccable.
I didn't get to explore the public areas much, but there's an infinity pool on the rooftop, and you can borrow kids' swimming rings for free. The hotel is right by the beach and Zengcuo'an, so you can easily rent bicycles for a ride.
Service was great. The hotel staff were all very friendly and accommodating, always ready to help. Room service was also very prompt. The front desk staff were excellent, especially Eder, Liam, and Luna.
On the downside, the location is a bit out of the way and there aren't many food delivery options. It's a good choice if you mainly want to enjoy the beach and cycle along the Huandao Road, and the price is reasonable. However, it's quite a distance from the ferry terminal to Gulangyu Island and some downtown attractions, usually a 20 to 30-minute taxi ride. Personally, I felt there weren't many good food options nearby; a taxi ride to MixC for dining takes about half an hour.

First off, the hygiene was impeccable, and secondly, the price was very affordable for most people, around a hundred yuan, which is incredible value for money. The provided dryer was particularly practical; it meant I didn't have to carry a bunch of extra clothes while traveling, which was super convenient. Downstairs, there's a shopping area, making it easy to get around. The owner's service was also very warm and appropriate. Overall, a very comfortable experience.

**Location:** Perched halfway up the mountain, it's easily accessible by taxi, and the hotel also provides shuttle services.
**🎄 Ambiance:** Exceptionally novel and tranquil, truly a refreshing oasis in Xiamen with fantastic mountain air; it lives up to its 'Beverly Hills' reputation, radiating peace and serenity! The night lights are also stunning!
**🏘️ Room:** Guests staying in the villa area arrive by shuttle, and entry requires a password, ensuring excellent privacy. The housekeeping staff keeps everything spotlessly clean and always greets you upon entry, promptly fulfilling any requests for amenities.
**🍱 Dining:** The afternoon tea at the lounge boasts an unparalleled setting. Despite the hotel being fully booked during the holiday and having fewer staff, they always found us a spot, and our coffee requests were delivered promptly – they truly worked hard during the holiday! The auntie at the pancake station for breakfast was also very enthusiastic. All the staff have been working there for nearly ten years, which speaks volumes about the hotel's humane approach to its employees!
**😘 Special Thanks:** To the young lady with the ponytail in the blue uniform at the front desk, who provided an excellent check-in introduction; to the tall, handsome manager at the front desk with a magnetic voice, who accommodated our urgent requests; to all the staff in the lounge department, who worked incredibly hard despite being short-staffed; and to the kind gentleman with glasses who drove the shuttle to our villa, whose driving skills were exceptional and who even gave us a tour and introduction to the villa area!
**❤️** We will definitely return to Le Méridien with our elders next time for another novel experience!

BBaiMaWangziI traveled to Xiamen during the Chinese spring service with my dog and took a day trip to Kinmen Island, Taiwan, just off the coast.
This hotel was in fact an apartment building with several management companies renting out rooms on various floors. Overall the building was in a horrendous state of disrepair.
Initially, the front desk tried to put me into a room on the sixth floor which looked like a scene from a horror movie... Stains on floor, walls, dirt and garbage everywhere....I asked if this is the same room I booked and another female staff member moved me to the 9 th floor which was at least clean and updated, in the hall. The room was ok, and bed comfortable, but I've never stayed in a hotel that put sheets directly on the mattress without a minimal pad between... Luckily no bed bugs.
The room had 3 out of 8 working lightbulbs so it was very dark. The heater didn't warm up the room even at max level running all day.
Everything was old and dingy... Nothing like the photos
I had no TV or Internet service the first day until I asked for it to be repaired.
Overall, no maintenance is the problem.. But at least the woman at the front desk was helpful and kind
That only real redeeming quality of the room was the view... But the window was so dirty, it was mostly obscured.
