"A simple hotel. Don’t expect much as just need to a room to sleep overnight before early departure ex-XMN. As I arrived very late , no room service available, receptionist helped me order a delivery , appreciated that very much. Breakfast selection was great. Healthy choices. Eastern and western mix. I love the breakfast the best. Restaurant staff was also very friendly."

Swiss Grand Xiamen is under Swiss Management. Located on the sea promenade along the Lujiang road overlooking the Gulangyu Island. It is the sole hotel with swimming pool, large fitness facilities with Pilate. 10 min. walk to the Gulangyu Island ferry, the historically popular Zhongshan Road and the No. 8 fresh market where seafood can be enjoyed throughout the day in the different restaurants. Free parking during stay is available and the final terminal station of No. 1 Metro station is just 5 min. walk from the hotel. (For your kind reminder: For free parking, provide your license plate upon check-in. Check-out is at noon; late check-out fees available upon request.)

"Had a terrible experience. The comforter was damp. Aside from the sea view, it was worse than staying at an Atour. The most frustrating thing was the long wait to check out. When I asked the front desk, I was actually scolded! I reflected on it afterwards: 1. I wasn't feeling well and my reactions were slow. 2. If a five-star hotel can't shake off its 'Kong Yiji' (pretentious and outdated) attitude, it should at least maintain its facilities, even if the price is a bit higher. 3. Maybe I haven't stayed at hotels requiring a deposit much in recent years."

"I was looking forward to this hotel after seeing the pictures and reviews on trip.com, but it left a lot to be desired. -They don’t provide large towels by default. I assumed they forgot my towels, then when I asked they brought me a set but showed me the disposable ones that were sitting in the room. I couldn’t believe they offer the tiniest, thinnest packets and think that’s an acceptable replacement for normal towels. At this price point, that shouldn’t be a reality anywhere in the world— after countless dozens of hotels I’ve stayed at in China that’s the first time I’ve witnessed such a thing. -They leave the toilet scrubber in the bathroom too, which I also never saw after countless hotels in China; clearly that’s an antiquated practice and doesn’t inspire confidence in the cleanliness of a room. Cleaning tools like that shouldn’t be stored in the guest rooms. -The city view was okay but the window was filthy -The room is no-smoking but they leave an ash tray My booked room says the 20th floor— when I arrived, I lugged my heavy bags to the 20th floor, but they immediately redirected me; we went back down, exited the building to another one nearby, then they checked me into an old room on a 10th floor. I didn’t understand why they did this (that room reeked of smoke too), then we packed everything up and went right back to the original building, to the 20th floor like I booked. Clearly that could have been avoided if they communicated to me the reason for the switch (they said afterwards they were upgrading me to a bigger room? But it was nearly the same size and the 10th floor one was just older, smellier and clearly a downgrade. Odd decision on their part). I’m not sure if this hotel does the delivery robot like most others, I doubt it. Luckily I came to town a day early, so the extra day I booked allowed me to see the condition of the hotel and I was able to cancel the rest of the stay I had booked— but for a fee of over 500rmb. The vast majority of Chinese hotels on this site offer free cancellations but this one was costly. I switched immediately to a brand hotel to be safe— there are countless other options in Xiamen at similar prices, I’d have to recommend looking elsewhere."

Founded in 1958, Lujiang Hotel is an iconic architectural landmark in Xiamen and one of the first three hotels in Xiamen established after the reform and opening-up. It has now been upgraded to a heritage-level experiential hotel that preserves the city’s culture and historical character. In 2025, the hotel completed its sixth renovation in strict accordance with cultural relic restoration standards. It carefully retained the vintage texture of the original floral tiles, complemented by elegant new patterns, creating a stunning fusion of old and new.As a prestigious historic hotel on Lu Island, it has hosted numerous Chinese and foreign dignitaries, business leaders and celebrities, including the former Queen of Denmark, Lee Kuan Yew, Anna Chan Chennault, and Angie Chiu, all of whom spoke highly of their experience. The renowned artist Mr. Liu Haisu personally inscribed the hotel with the words “A Home Away from Home”, a testament to its excellent reputation and profound heritage. As a landmark on the core section of Lujiang Road, the hotel encapsulates a century of elegance on both banks of the Lujiang River, blending Chinese and Western styles and harmonizing tradition with modernity. Every stay is more than accommodation; it is a journey through time. The hotel’s “Time Tunnel 1958” is a highlight. Within this compact space, the city’s memories are condensed. Stepping in, one can feel the heartbeat of Xiamen and touch stories that span decades.Guest rooms frame a panoramic view of Gulangyu Island. At dawn, the island’s scenery greets you the moment you open your eyes. Even from the bathroom, you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the blue sea and red-tiled roofs, integrating the seascape into every moment of your stay. The hotel also holds the classic reputation of “Dining at Lujiang”. Its 7th-floor viewing restaurant is a beloved choice for both locals and tourists, combining stunning sea views with exquisite cuisine, and consistently ranks highly on major review platforms. From carefully selected ingredients to refined cooking techniques, the hotel crafts flavors with meticulous attention to detail. Beyond satisfying hunger, it lets your taste buds discover the authentic tastes of Lujiang, shaped by time and refined across mountains and seas.

"I'd been looking forward to staying at the Lujiang Hotel for a long time. Back in 2019, when I traveled to Xiamen, I already had my eye on this prime location. Unfortunately, the hotel was undergoing renovations then, so I couldn't make it happen. This time, I brought my mom for the Dragon Boat Festival and booked three nights here without hesitation. The entire stay was pleasant and perfect. We stayed in a premium sea-view balcony king room. The room offered an unparalleled view directly overlooking the endless ocean. The amenities were brand new and tastefully designed, with a perfect blend of retro charm: from the floor indicator in the elevator on the first floor to the antique telephone on the sixth floor that was actually functional, every detail was thoughtfully considered. Every evening, they offered a different comforting complimentary soup, which they could even reheat if it got a bit cool. The welcome fruit platter was abundant, and these details were especially heartwarming. The hotel also gifted us a Qipao photoshoot at Zhuyanjji, and with the hotel's scenic backdrop, the atmosphere was incredible, resulting in a series of stunning vintage-style photos – an unexpected and delightful surprise. The breakfast package quality far exceeded our expectations. The breakfast spread was extensive, and dining on the terrace while enjoying the views and delicious food was wonderful. Minnan specialties like Shacha noodles, Wu Xiang (five-spice rolls), and Xianyuzhao (savory taro dates) were all available. The dishes were updated regularly, so we didn't get tired of them over our three-day stay. What truly impressed me was the service. The front desk staff was well-organized; even during busy periods, someone was immediately available to assist. Housekeeping was meticulous and thorough. When I got mosquito bites, the front desk provided cooling balm. The doormen proactively opened doors and helped with luggage, all with warmth and decorum, reflecting the calm and thoughtful service of a well-established hotel. My mom and I had a wonderfully relaxing holiday. The Lujiang Hotel certainly lived up to its reputation. This trip was perfect, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Xiamen!"

"This blind booking of a B&B turned out to be a fantastic surprise! ✅ The location is superb, and the place is incredibly clean, with an excellent separate wet and dry area in the bathroom. The owner is super nice and always willing to help. This little haven truly enhanced our trip, and I highly recommend it! The decor is very tasteful with great attention to detail, even the toiletries are disposable and high-quality. The service is impeccable; they are warm and welcoming while still respecting your privacy. On days we didn't feel like sightseeing, just relaxing in the room with a cup of tea was a pure joy. We'll definitely be back for a second visit! A truly satisfying stay! The location is convenient, the environment is elegant, and the room is clean and comfortable with all the amenities you could need. The owner is warm and thoughtful, making you feel right at home. "This is genuinely the first time I've actively and wholeheartedly given a positive review. The hotel environment is absolutely fantastic, perfect for families with kids – they'll be entertained from morning till night. The hotel also offered so many perks that we couldn't even use them all. Plus, the hotel has a grand layout, which really sets it apart from other family-friendly hotels. The hotel upgraded our room to a waterside room in the main building. This is the first hotel I've ever encountered where you can pack up your buffet breakfast to go! It was incredibly convenient! One morning, the main building restaurant was full with a long queue, so I asked the butler if we could go to the Shuiyuan Restaurant instead. They agreed without hesitation and even arranged for a late check-out. Oh, and adult socks for the kids' club are provided for free! Many other family hotels charge 5 yuan per pair! This really shows their superior approach! We didn't have time to use the complimentary afternoon tea on the day it was offered, but they kindly extended it for us multiple times! Every detail, every request we had, was immediately addressed! They also provided swimming rings and sand toys. In short, with all these thoughtful details, the hotel truly has a big heart and a grand vision! My expectations for family hotels have definitely been raised! Now, for a couple of very minor personal suggestions that I think could be improved: The hotel is very large and primarily caters to families, so the kids' club could be even bigger, perhaps 1500 sq m, 2000 sq m, or even larger, aiming to be the largest kids' club among family hotels in China. I noticed that kids especially love the trampoline, but there's only one, which can lead to older kids without family supervision competing with younger children for it. Other than that, I have no more suggestions; the hotel has done an outstanding job."

Ffernanda9The room was very clean and the environment was quiet. Xiao Bai (the staff) was very nice and upgraded us to a higher room category. Before we left, they even gave our child some small seashells, which was a very thoughtful touch. The hotel breakfast was delicious, especially the Shacha noodles, which were tastier than any we'd had in the days before arriving on the island. The complimentary lunch included in the package was also very good, though the yellow croaker was a bit small, just one tiny fish. At the end of September, when tourist traffic wasn't heavy, we arrived on the island at 11 AM. The shuttle service was perfectly arranged, helping us avoid the scorching sun. We later found out that a shuttle ride on the island costs 50 RMB per person, so for our family of three, we saved a good 150 RMB. Most of the snacks on the island were just okay, but the Dayang Restaurant was quite good. If you have the time, staying on the island is definitely recommended. You can avoid the midday sun and take your kids to play by the beach in the afternoon. Strolling around the island in the evening makes this a very high-value-for-money place. Xiamen offers a resort experience similar to Sanya, yet also gives you the illusion of wandering through the streets and alleys of a small Hong Kong or Macau island.

YYappariStory⭐ 5/5 — A Truly Exceptional, Warm-Hearted Stay at Zengcuo’an Village ⭐ I travel often and have experienced many different types of hotels and accommodations over the years. From 25 Nov 2025, I stayed at Hua Cai Xiao Zhu · Florich 民宿 (环岛南路曾厝垵店) for 12 nights, and extended my stay by another 3 nights because it genuinely felt like home. That alone says everything. 😊 From the moment I arrived, the experience was not just comfortable, but deeply warm and reassuring, thanks to the owner and housekeeper who went out of their way to make sure every detail of my stay was taken care of. 🙏 I stayed in the Huacai Balcony Tub Room on the 5th level. I believe this is the only accommodation in Zengcuo'an that has an elevator. The room was very clean, modern, and thoughtfully equipped. The large bathtub and giant HD projector made every evening wonderfully relaxing. The balcony overlooks Zengcuo’an Village and is just 50 metres from the village church. I even enjoyed a beautiful sunrise at around 6:30am right from my room. 🌄 The location is outstanding. It’s about 200 metres from the main entrance of Zengcuo’an Village, surrounded by everything you could possibly need. There are countless eateries nearby, including my personal favourite right in front of the accommodation — 福鼎肉片小吃店, run by the warm and amiable 美金姐, a 56-year-old local lady (highly recommended!). 😋😋 Convenience stores, fashion and accessory shops, souvenir stalls, luggage shops, spas, travel agencies — and even a McDonald’s — are all within easy reach. 👍👍 Several attractions are also within walking distance, including Pearl Public Beach and Music Square. One of the smartest ways to explore Xiamen is the CNY 50 hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus (24 stops), with the bus stop conveniently located right in front of the village on the right side. It’s honestly the most affordable and efficient way to see the city. What truly made this stay exceptional, however, were the people. 👬👭 The owner, 许老板, is incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. He patiently gave directions, recommended places to visit, pointed out nearby essentials like the bank and pharmacy, and even allowed me to store my luggage while I was away for a few days. When I checked out, I was down with a cold — he not only helped with my luggage, but also personally drove me to the airport, making sure I arrived safely. That level of care is rare. 💯💯💯 The housekeeper, 秀容, is equally wonderful. Always smiling, always attentive, she made sure I was comfortable every single day — from providing extra water, tissues, and towels to quietly checking that everything was in order. Her warmth made the entire stay feel effortless and homely. . One last tip: don’t miss the sunset. Walk across the overhead bridge from the village and enjoy the beach scene between 4:30pm and 6:30pm — it’s absolutely unforgettable.🌻🌷 Overall: highly, highly recommended. Hua Cai Xiao Zhu · Florich 民宿 (环岛南路曾厝垵店) is more than just a place to stay, it’s a place where you feel genuinely cared for. If you’re visiting Xiamen, this is truly one of the best choices: a 3-star property delivering 5-star service and comfort. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

ZzyoukoThe French-style cabinet and desk have so much character! All the furniture, including the large wardrobe, isn't brand new but feels well-made and meticulously maintained. On the first floor, they offer 24-hour freshly ground coffee and lemonade, which made it feel almost like home, even though I was away. I really found what I was looking for – it was incredibly comfortable and great value for money. A very satisfying stay!

IIain13This is a duplicate of my review for dates from 6 to 8 June 2026, as I extended my stay for one night. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would happily stay here again. The location is excellent. It's right next to the metro, directly across the road from China City Mall, and within easy walking distance of Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, the waterfront and the ferry wharf. It made exploring Xiamen incredibly easy. The staff were consistently helpful and efficient. They obtained information about the Xiamen-Kinmen ferry, which was greatly appreciated. The breakfast restaurant staff deserve special mention as they were always friendly, welcoming and genuinely seemed pleased to see their guests each morning. The room itself was lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was excellent and while I didn't use the bath, the shower was very good. The hotel also has a nice swimming pool, gym and lounge area, all of which added to the overall experience. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choices, both Asian and Western, and a pleasant atmosphere. I only intended to stay a short time, but enjoyed both the hotel and Xiamen enough that I extended my stay by an extra night. From my room I had good views, including Zheng Chenggong's statue on Gulangyu Island and Xiamen's Twin Towers in the distance. This hotel certainly helped make my stay in Xiamen an enjoyable one. I left with very positive memories and would gladly stay here again.

YYappariStory📍 青年阳光S酒店(厦门会展中心加州广场店) 🏨 Youth Sunshine S Hotel (Xiamen International Convention & Exhibition Center California Plaza Branch) 🗓 Check-in Date: February 15, 2026 🗓 Check-out Date: February 19, 2026 🕘 Departure Time: 5:00 PM (Special Request Accepted) We arrived at the hotel at 9:45 PM on the eve of Chinese New Year. Given the late hour and festive season, we were concerned that nearby restaurants might already be closed. To our pleasant surprise, several small eateries within 50 meters of the hotel were still open, allowing us to enjoy a proper late dinner. It was a reassuring start to our stay. The hotel’s environment is comfortable and welcoming. The lobby features a bright, clean design with warm wood tones and soft lighting that create a calm, relaxing atmosphere. A tasteful display area and cozy seating space add a subtle blend of business functionality and artistic charm. The front desk staff were professional and courteous, and the check-in process was smooth and efficient despite the late hour. We stayed in the Premier Themed Room (Japanese Style with Sakura), which was truly one of the highlights of our trip. Upon entering, we were greeted by a beautifully designed Japanese-inspired interior. Warm lighting, wooden flooring, and delicate sakura (cherry blossom) wall art created a serene and elegant ambiance. Wooden partition panels and subtle decorative details added refinement, giving the space an artistic yet tranquil feel — almost like a small ryokan-style retreat in the heart of Xiamen. The room was thoughtfully designed, spacious, and impeccably clean. A charming feature was the private balcony, which allowed fresh air in. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, dressed in crisp white linens. The mattress offered excellent support, and the pillows were soft yet supportive, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. All essential toiletries were generously provided, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, dental kits, slippers, and towels. Everything was neatly arranged and well-maintained, reflecting attention to guest comfort. The complimentary breakfast was another pleasant surprise. It offered a good variety of well-prepared options, making it a satisfying way to start each day. The location is highly convenient, close to the Xiamen International Convention & Exhibition Center, with California Plaza Shopping Mall next door offering numerous dining choices. Whether for business or leisure, the hotel is an excellent option. Most importantly, the nightly rate was very reasonable and offered excellent value, especially considering the themed décor, balcony, full amenities, and included breakfast. The stay exceeded our expectations. We would gladly choose this room again on our next visit. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Highly recommended!

GGuest UserThe stay was fantastic! The front desk service was very welcoming, and the overall environment was great. The newly renovated lobby feels very grand. The hotel is right on Zhongshan Road, which is an excellent location. The Eight-City Seafood Market is also very close, perfect for some food exploration and shopping! 😝😝😝

BBaiMaWangziI traveled to Xiamen during the Chinese spring service with my dog and took a day trip to Kinmen Island, Taiwan, just off the coast. This hotel was in fact an apartment building with several management companies renting out rooms on various floors. Overall the building was in a horrendous state of disrepair. Initially, the front desk tried to put me into a room on the sixth floor which looked like a scene from a horror movie... Stains on floor, walls, dirt and garbage everywhere....I asked if this is the same room I booked and another female staff member moved me to the 9 th floor which was at least clean and updated, in the hall. The room was ok, and bed comfortable, but I've never stayed in a hotel that put sheets directly on the mattress without a minimal pad between... Luckily no bed bugs. The room had 3 out of 8 working lightbulbs so it was very dark. The heater didn't warm up the room even at max level running all day. Everything was old and dingy... Nothing like the photos I had no TV or Internet service the first day until I asked for it to be repaired. Overall, no maintenance is the problem.. But at least the woman at the front desk was helpful and kind That only real redeeming quality of the room was the view... But the window was so dirty, it was mostly obscured.

FFoodTravelLife88This is an apartment located a 6 min drive to the port to kinmen. The area itself is enclosed in like a yacht club boating area. Depending on the season many things maybe closed but it's good if you want to walk along the pier enjoy nature, have a ferry or plane to catch. I am going to review this as an Airbnb style apartment. Since it is an actual apartment your renting. They were a little confused at check in giving us two rooms and having us find our visa in our passport for them to take the photos. The apartment overall is very good for a short stay with a nice view, great TV and quite a lot of space. My husband's phone was able to connect to the internet and it was very good my phone however wouldn't connect. Typical problem with non Chinese phones. Bathroom is also very updated and nice. The bed was also very nice. So as this is an apartment somethings could be improved for longer stays. 1) while there is a huge fridge they don't provide you a second key so the fridge will actually stay on when you leave. Typically I leave one key in and turn off everything manually but they said not possible. So if your staying for awhile everytime you leave your fridge will go off. 2) While there is a stove which is great there isn't any way to cook no small pot pan plate nothing. Which is strange because why is there a stove then. This is clearly an apartment which could be better supplied like an Airbnb. 3) While there is a washer which is amazing and washing powder which is a huge plus there is no way to dry the clothes. There is no drying rack, no fan and the two windows don't provide enough air for drying. There was only 6 hangers as well. 4) While it was quite clean the cabinets in the kitchen, the insulation inside the fridge were not clean at all. You could tell they had recently mopped and we arrived nearly 8pm. The ceiling in certain areas had visable black mold which could be a bigger problem. The faucet in the bathroom also was very loose. However the apartment is great and could be able to accommodate longer stays if these areas are fixed. Modeling more of an Airbnb type stay. As someone who's lived in Airbnb the past 7 years I'm just trying to help. So it you are going for a night or a week and these things don't bother you I can recommend it. For me it was great for short stay.

GGuest UserReally grateful for the free airport pickup. Added their number to my wechat and called them using wechat. Was given directions where to be picked up and asked to send a picture of how I look like. waited at the pickup point and even message them at exactly which location I'm at. Received a call later to ask where am I and also messaged me the car plate number. As the pickup point only allow 8mins of wait time, the driver was pretty pissed when I arrived. I mean, couldn't you have sent a picture of the car and the car plate number earlier? Driver was smoking all the way while driving and I'm unfortunately seated behind him, breathing in all his smelly smoke. He opened his window but that didn't help, the wind has kept blowing the smoke into my face. Luckily it was a short drive. I feel that the hotel should educate their drivers not to smoke while driving. This is so selfish. I got upgraded to a bigger room because they wanted me to give a good review. My room has a big window with the street view. Room was clean and nice. Slippers given. Toilet was badly designed. the shower head faces the toilet bowl and the sewage system is not good. After showering, the toilet flooded. I only realised the next morning that there are some buttons that you can switch on for ventilation in the toilet. The toilet was still flooded in the morning but I think if I have known about the buttons earlier, it would have been dried in the morning. The buttons are in chinese characters. Ask for help to decipher them. The room has a projector but nothing was watchable. You need to have accounts to sign on to their various content provider. The hotel is near a small street market with awesome and cheap food. There was also some supermarkets opened late into the night. Cannot expect much from sound proofing as dead into the night, you can still hear food delivery rider delivering their food to occupants. The driver in the morning did not smoke but when I told him that nobody asked me which terminal I'm going to, he insisted that it is impossible for them not to ask. I also cannot be bothered to argue. Why would I sabotage my own departure plans? Suggest that before the driver drives off, stressed which terminal you are going to. Terminal 3 for International flights, Terminal 4 for domestic flights. And they are not close to one another apparently. Otherwise, the bed was quite comfy. The socket above the bedside table is almost falling off the wall.
