Holiday Villa Rentals in Xiamen

"I first heard about Linggan Hotel through an article by Teacher Maori and immediately bookmarked it as a great B&B. When I had the chance to travel to Xiamen during the off-season at the end of the year, I booked a king-size room at Linggan the day after I booked my flight. I chose the Sanqiutian Pier for the ferry, as Baidu Maps showed it was closer to the B&B. After getting off the pier, it was just over a 10-minute walk to the property. The B&B has a rather large courtyard, and its location offers a peaceful retreat while being close to both Piano Pier and Longtou Road. My favorite spot was the small balcony seating at the end of the corridor; enjoying a cup of coffee from the downstairs cafe and soaking up the sun in the afternoon was simply delightful. The room decor was minimalist, but all essential amenities were provided, showing great attention to detail. The large bathtub even came with a perfectly sized liner. In the evening, playing some favorite music on the in-room Bose Bluetooth speaker was just perfect. The breakfast on the second day was a set meal, very generous and delicious. You could choose to enjoy it in the cafe downstairs or in the outdoor garden. Both the auntie and the front desk staff were very enthusiastic. I hope the prices don't increase too much during peak season, as I truly want to come back again!"

"A lovely little villa on Gulangyu Island with a large courtyard. It's 1.2 kilometers from Sanqiutian Wharf, clean and quiet at night. The Organ Museum is nearby. The houseboat is on the third floor, a rooftop attic with a terrace where you can dry clothes. After the tourists have left, you can sit on the rooftop, enjoy the breeze, have a drink, and watch the sunset and stars – it's wonderful. The owner is very welcoming and provides excellent service, giving detailed travel tips and many small gifts. The downside is that because it's a rooftop, the ceiling is quite low; people over 1.7 meters tall are likely to bump their heads. The mattress is placed directly on the floor; there are no stools, so you have to sit on the bed, which is quite low. The bed is soft, but I prefer a firmer bed. It's been over 10 years since I last visited. The houses are the same, but I have no recollection of them… 😂 There are so many tourists! Less than 20,000 people visit the island and it's already this crowded; I can't imagine what it would be like with 50,000 people. 😂"
