AHMAD FARHAN F M AL-MASLAMANI⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Resort Experience in Shenzhen
Our stay at MGM Shenzhen exceeded expectations and was one of the most complete resort experiences we have had in the Greater Bay Area.
The hotel is beautifully designed, with modern architecture, direct beach access, extensive resort facilities, and stunning views of the South China Sea. We booked an ocean-view room and the view alone was worth it. The balcony featured a large daybed overlooking the beach, pools, gardens, and coastline, making it the perfect place to relax with a coffee in the morning or unwind in the evening while listening to the waves.
The room was spacious, spotless, and very well equipped. Amenities included a Nespresso coffee machine with capsules, premium tea selections, complimentary bottled water, minibar beverages, wine glasses, quality bath amenities, indoor slippers, beach slippers, and even shoe-care accessories. Attention to detail throughout the room was impressive and reflected the luxury standard of the property.
The resort facilities are excellent. There are multiple swimming pools, beautifully maintained tropical gardens, direct beach access, children’s play and water areas, and plenty of outdoor space for both families and couples. The beach was clean, the water was calm, and the entire resort felt peaceful despite being in one of China’s busiest cities.
One of the highlights of our stay was the evening entertainment. Rather than a simple hotel activity, MGM organized a full outdoor show featuring professional dancers, fire performers, music, special effects, and interactive entertainment. The atmosphere was lively and exciting, attracting guests of all ages and creating a memorable resort experience after sunset. It felt more like a special event than standard hotel entertainment and was something we genuinely looked forward to each evening.
Service throughout our stay was professional, friendly, and efficient from check-in to check-out. Housekeeping maintained the room to a very high standard, and every staff member we interacted with was welcoming and helpful.
What impressed us most was how complete the overall experience felt. Between the beach, pools, ocean views, resort facilities, entertainment, and comfortable rooms, it truly felt like a destination in itself rather than simply a place to stay. You could easily spend several days here without feeling the need to leave the property.
Pros:
• Stunning ocean-view rooms and balconies
• Direct access to a beautiful beach
• Large resort-style swimming pools
• Excellent family-friendly facilities
• High-quality room amenities
• Professional and attentive service
• Full evening entertainment shows with dance, fire performances, music, and special effects
• Beautiful landscaping and well-maintained grounds
Cons:
• None worth mentioning during our stay
Overall Rating: 5/5
MGM Shenzhen successfully combines the comfort of a luxury hotel with the atmosphere of a true beachfront resort. We would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing seaside getaway in Shenzhen.

Anonymous UserI left 5-star ratings across all categories as I was informed that staff performance could be affected otherwise.
The staff were helpful, responsive and polite throughout our stay. Unfortunately, the hotel itself was disappointing and not somewhere I would recommend.
I booked this hotel after seeing videos online and noticing it was marketed as a luxury property on Trip.com. The sea view is beautiful, and there are some photo-worthy spots around the property. However, it quickly became apparent that the hotel prioritises aesthetics over the guest experience. There were several signs of cost-cutting, including thin walls and fixtures that felt poorly installed. For example, the sea view from the pool was stunning, but just beyond it was a messy, poorly maintained storage building, which detracted from the luxury atmosphere.
Privacy was one of our biggest frustrations. Our balcony looked directly onto a neighbouring balcony on one side, and the pool area and photo-worthy staircase on the other. We specifically paid more for a room with a balcony and sea view, but barely used it during the day because it felt so exposed. To make matters worse, our neighbour was smoking, making it difficult to enjoy the space at all.
We ended up spending more time at the pool instead, but that was very disappointing. There were several dead insects in the water, including beetles and flies, and only two sun loungers for guests. Every 20 minutes, photoshoots took place around us, making it difficult to relax or enjoy any sense of privacy. It was especially frustrating because we had already avoided using our balcony for the same reason. We were also only informed after check-in that the pool would be closed for maintenance the following day, meaning we couldn’t use it on our final morning.
The biggest issue for us was the noise. There was a recurring loud thumping sound throughout the day and evening. We weren’t sure whether it was coming from hotel operations next door or the ongoing construction beside the property, which also made parts of the hotel feel dusty and unfinished. One issue was resolved after we reported it, but we were later woken around 5am by an extremely loud disturbance that sounded like firecrackers, which staff advised had come from other guests.
Breakfast was also surprisingly limited, with only a Western or local set option and no flexibility to customise or choose individual items.
Once you look beyond the social media appeal, the privacy, noise, facilities and overall build quality fell well short of what we would expect from a luxury hotel. In our opinion, this felt more like a 3-star property with 5-star service. Aside from the pool area, there was very little else within the property for guests to enjoy, making it difficult to justify its “luxury hotel” positioning.

Guest UserThe hotel facilities are quite complete. There's a self-service laundry and a fitness area on the 14th floor. They even offer late-night snacks on the 14th floor after 9 PM. The room offers great value for money. The front desk lobby has a stylish design, and staff like Yoyo are very thoughtful during check-in, even asking if you're on a business trip. Hotel parking is free, and they'll even prepare breakfast to go. Overall, the service is very attentive and thoughtful. [Strong][Strong][Strong]

RouroudelvxingFacilities: The design is truly excellent, giving off a full resort vibe, perfect for taking photos.
Environment: The location is also great; it's convenient to get to Dameisha Beach by subway.
Service: Very good, they upgraded our room for free.
Breakfast: They have everything you'd expect. The freshly made egg and rice noodle rolls are recommended. There aren't many drink options, but coffee is available.
Hygiene: Overall, the hygiene was OK, but this time I found a stain on the duvet cover. However, the staff quickly responded and changed it.

The ultimate family-friendly vacation spot, a perfect experience worth revisiting! Choosing this InterContinental in Dameisha was definitely a hit, from check-in to check-out, it was a smooth and comfortable stay!
**Room: Full of childish fun, thoughtful details!**
A huge thank you to the front desk staff for the complimentary upgrade to the Ocean Adventure Family Twin Room. The entire room was decorated with ocean-themed cartoons; the bedsheets, throw pillows, and wall decals all featured adorable sharks and jellyfish. My child shrieked with joy the moment they entered. The bathroom came with a cartoon bathtub and even had kids' water toys. The interactive floor projection created an amazing ambiance, and my child spent ages playing barefoot in the light and shadows. There was also an interactive 'treasure hunt' projection on the desk, which kept my child quietly entertained, finally allowing us parents to catch a break. Kids' toiletries, small slippers, and bathrobes were all provided, with every detail thoughtfully catering to children. 🧸
**Indoor Kids' Playground: Rich variety of activities!**
The hotel's indoor playground is super spacious. The ball pit and giant building block area were clean and tidy, and there were special craft classes daily! We caught the Little Chef DIY activity, where staff patiently guided the children in making food, even providing them with exclusive chef hats and aprons – the sense of ceremony was amazing. In the lobby, there were also clown interactive performances and giant inflatable shark mascot parades. The clown did fancy ball tricks and gave out balloons, and my child chased the mascot around. The atmosphere was incredibly vibrant, keeping us entertained throughout.
**Outdoor Sea View & Water Activities: Absolutely stunning!**
The guest room balcony directly faces the entire Dameisha sea area, with distant views of mountains, sea, and small islands. Downstairs, the tiered pools and water slides lead directly to the beach, and the surrounding palm trees make for fantastic photo opportunities! Out at sea, there was an exciting flyboarding show, with high-flying water stunts that were both thrilling and beautiful – watching the show by the sea breeze was so therapeutic. The private beach wasn't too crowded, making it very pleasant for swimming and walking. The pool had different depths, so both adults and children could enjoy it safely. ✨
**Service and Amenities: Top marks 💯**
The staff were gentle and polite throughout our stay. Whether it was guidance in the playground or room service, responses were super quick. The hotel's amenities are comprehensive, with family activities rotating daily, so there's no need to go out looking for things to do with the kids. The hotel facilities are very well maintained; both public areas and guest rooms were clean and odorless. The air conditioning was powerful, and the soundproofing was effective, allowing us to rest with our child undisturbed.
This is the top choice for a one-stop family vacation, with food, lodging, and entertainment all-inclusive, no need for strenuous travel. The sea view, family facilities, and service are all excellent. It's perfect for both short weekend getaways with kids or a relaxing family trip. It's already on my list for a second visit, highly recommended for families with children!

lanyu568362On the first day of our summer vacation, we chose Shangri-La Hotel, Shenzhen Nanshan. From the moment we walked in, the welcoming staff made us feel right at home! The front desk staff processed our check-in with a big smile and incredible speed! Nico, the lovely guest services lady, was professional and gentle. She proactively greeted us and escorted us to our room, anticipating our needs. She also responded promptly to all our questions. Her thoughtful service really helped us unwind after a four-hour drive! The bay view room offers an excellent vista, especially the stunning sunset – definitely worth staying in the room for! Plus, the shopping mall downstairs has our favorite 客语 restaurant, which is a nice bonus!
The breakfast restaurant on the 66th floor has a fantastic view, with panoramic scenes of Shenzhen Bay. The tables aren't crowded, and the service is prompt. The freshly made bread and desserts are a major highlight! Oh, and the freshly made rice noodles were pretty good too!

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to UpperHills and Bijia Mountain Park. The room size is decent, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offer great views. Breakfast variety is acceptable, with most essentials covered. Overall, the hotel service is quite good, but the breakfast restaurant service is very average. The biggest rip-off, though, is the hotel's spa. It's overpriced and the massage technique is terrible. I'd say it's the worst spa experience I've had at a five-star hotel! I felt like I was completely ripped off! A total waste of time, I hope everyone avoids it.

Guest UserThis was my first stay at the Shenzhen Marriott Hotel, and honestly, it was a mixed bag – some good, some not so good. The staff at the front desk and in the restaurant were excellent, very friendly and helpful. However, the staff at the entrance and the bellhops were quite disappointing. They weren't proactive in assisting guests, and for a hotel, the first impression often comes from the entrance staff. This really detracted from my overall experience. The front desk staff were polite and said everything was fine, but the baggage handlers were truly awful. On the positive side, the dim sum at the restaurant was exceptional. So, if I ever consider staying here again, I'll definitely have to think long and hard about it. I honestly don't understand how a five-star hotel can have such a stark difference in service quality. For a first-time guest at the Marriott Shenzhen, it was certainly a memorable experience, but not entirely for the right reasons.

Guest UserThis business trip, I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Gooday, and the overall experience was incredibly pleasant. I absolutely have to commend Joy, the concierge. Joy is wonderfully kind and approachable. When I was checking in, she noticed I often work at a desk, so she proactively upgraded me to an executive deluxe king room. The room had an excellent orientation, far from noisy hallway areas, and the soundproofing was superb. Whether I was working during the day or resting at night, it was exceptionally peaceful. The entire room was spotlessly clean and tidy, and the workspace was ample, with plenty of room for my laptop and documents without feeling cramped. The hotel's location is also excellent, making it very convenient for business meetings. Joy is genuinely sincere and her service is attentive without being overly formal or intrusive. Her perfectly timed thoughtfulness really helped alleviate the fatigue of a busy business trip. My overall stay was very comfortable, and I will definitely choose this hotel again for future business in the area.
