The hotel's location is excellent, very close to Xiyuan Temple and Hanshan Temple. The front desk and housekeeping staff were exceptionally nice. When checking in, the front desk attendant gave me free tickets to Hanshan Temple. The housekeeping staff saw I had a child and specifically brought kid-sized slippers and toothbrushes, plus extra bottled water. The room had an expansive view, you could see far into the distance, and watching the sunset was so therapeutic. The bathroom was very spacious, making for a great stay. The hotel also has a small garden with a wooden pavilion, perfect for photos. Overall, an old Ferrari is still a Ferrari!

Hotel near Yangcheng Lake Resort/ HB World,Suzhou

Facilities: As a family traveling from Shanghai primarily for a vacation, we specifically filtered for 5-star hotels opened within the last two years that were also resorts, which led us straight to Marriott. Marriott's reputation is consistently excellent, and this hotel was no exception. The facilities and equipment are very new, especially the pool. It looks brand new, not just in age, but also in its design concept. As you can see from the photos, the blue sky, white clouds, green lawn, light blue lake, and black glass supports reflect beautifully on the pool's surface – a photographer's dream composition. Cleanliness: Very clean. You can walk barefoot on the carpet without a second thought, and there are no unpleasant odors. Service: The gym had bottled water and blankets next to every cardio machine. We had a lot of luggage, and the lobby staff went above and beyond, helping us arrange everything and even proactively bringing a cart to assist with loading and unloading. Definitely a big thumbs up! Environment: The hotel is located in the Yangcheng Lake scenic area. For our weekend trip, we parked our car and left it there, spending both days entirely at the hotel. During a light summer rain, our family enjoyed a leisurely stroll along the lake embankment – it was perfectly pleasant. Parking and EV charging were also very convenient. Restaurant: With its new design concept, this hotel is truly suitable for families with children. For breakfast, there were three cabinets filled with bread, cakes, and ice cream, all of excellent quality. Our child ate 6 waffles! As for the adults, we enjoyed Suzhou-style noodles. There was also an abundance of coffee machines. The overall dining service was excellent, with good guidance and quick table clearing. Even on a busy weekend with many people, the dining experience didn't feel crowded, which was fantastic. Saturday Kids' Lawn Water Battle (50 Crab Coins): We let the kids play freely. The staff proactively provided various water toys and even helped rinse off the bubbles. Highly recommended; we'll definitely return for our next vacation.

The room is a bit old and not well-maintained, which is understandable since the hotel has been open for a while. However, I was surprised that a Marriott-branded hotel would have limited amenities, with no body lotion provided. It was also a shame that we couldn't visit the Yangshan Linwu Cave, which was part of our weekend package, due to some issues. The staff were friendly, but when it came to problem-solving, they seemed very rigid and reluctant to take responsibility, always politely refusing. There's no dinner buffet, probably because the hotel's somewhat secluded location means there wouldn't be enough guests to make it worthwhile, making it inconvenient for in-house guests. Breakfast was crowded, especially with many families on summer vacation, and the staff struggled to keep up with restocking, which was a bit rushed. If you're just looking for a relaxing weekend and don't have high expectations, it's fine. But if you're seeking a quality experience, you might want to look elsewhere.

My stay in a suite was absolutely fantastic. The location is unbeatable, with Wanda Plaza right downstairs, making it incredibly convenient for getting around, dining, and shopping. The room itself was spacious, offering expansive city views through its panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows. The bedding was comfortable, and the bathroom amenities featured THANN products – truly top-notch. I have to specially commend the Executive Lounge on the 36th floor! The high-altitude views are breathtaking. The afternoon tea pastries were exquisite, and during happy hour, there was a wide variety of hot dishes, snacks, and drinks. Watching the sunset over the city from there created an incredible ambiance. The staff were warm, courteous, and very prompt in their service. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, with a heated indoor pool on the 4th floor and a 24-hour gym, both fully operational. Plus, there's ample free parking in the underground garage. This hotel is perfect for both business trips and short getaways. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I'm in Zhangjiagang!
