"We were on our way south, and needed somewhere to stop for the night, but were not at all happy with our choice. For some reason Timaru was very expensive that night; well over $200. The only good thing about our room was the size -- lovely and big, with lots of floor space. However, it's on a hill on the main road so vehicles are revving to get up, and lorries are using engine brakes to slow going downhill. We got very little sleep. As we were checking out we noticed somebody on the rowing machine in the gym -- vaping. It turns out this was the desk clerk. Safe to say we will not be back."

"The location of motel is nice n clean also very convenient, there is a park behind and a short walk to lighthouse, Caroline Bay a longer walk. Just a short drive to Oxford resturant and we enjoy a good dinner there. Breakfast the next morning is at station cafe beside the train station… there are also small shopping shops around although is a Sunday."

"I was so happy to stay here. The owner was friendly. The kitchen and living room were spacious. There was even a bathtub, so I tried the spa, but I was too tired and fell asleep. There was an oven, so I could eat a Tomahawk steak. There were plenty of DVDs at the front desk, so it would be nice to watch a movie while having dinner."

"Great central location, only about a 5 minute walk into town or down to the bay/beach, the room was well presented and clean, plenty of parking available, the staff were really friendly and helpful with local recommendations, and made me feel very welcome. Would 100% stay here again."

"Room was vas very small for 3 Adults and 1 child. 1 queen bed was comfortable but that was in a small lounge/kitchenette. The other room was so small they basically put a cot bunk in there, we had to pull the mattress off the top bunk and laid it on the floor in the doorway. It was clean which was good the bathroom was definitely out of date. Bonus was that we were allowed a dog and great parking. We did not hear the traffic maybe because we were at the back close to the carpark. Thank goodness it was only a 1 night stay."

"The hotel is right by the roadside, easy to find, and has convenient parking. It's also very close to the spot where you can watch the little penguins return to their nests. If you don't mind the roadside noise, it's a good option for a rest stop while traveling."

"To the people who are reading this review I'm great to deal with this women name Jane was very much difficult to deal with a couple of her motel units were invested with rats plus the motel unit we were in we could not stay there told her bout it she did not care she's a very rude women so we had to move on to a much better motel unit so people do not touch this motel she's not a very good bussiness women doesn't even know how to run motels"
