"An old-school traditional onsen ryokan. Right after getting off the JR Kinosaki Onsen station, staff were already asking which hotel we were staying at, and there was a free shuttle to take us there, which was a nice touch. The only drawback is that the hotel's sign actually says 'Izumi-do', which is different from what's listed on Trip.com. The hotel provides a public onsen pass, which is super convenient for visiting any of the six public onsens in town. One of them, Goshono-yu, is right across the street. So, every day after soaking, I'd just head back to the hotel and sleep – very convenient. It's also very close to the ropeway station, about a 5-minute walk. The meals included were also quite good."

"The room is so spacious. I have booked 3 rooms, but turn out 1 room had a strong cigarette smell. The staffs changed the new room for us immediately. The breakfast and dinner are buffet style and both are so good. The soft cream at restaurant reminded me of childhood softcream. They also provided free bar both day and night time. The staffs are so nice and polite. Love this place. Will definitely go back again."

"There's no shuttle service from the station. You can only use the bus once. I never expected to be asked to call a taxi to return. Since we were staying in the heat, a little more consideration would have been nice. The food tasted like it was pre-made; nothing particularly impressive. The open-air bath in the room is small and not big enough for two people. The only positive point is the cleanliness. However, I probably won't be returning."

"This ryokan is located outside the village and therefore away from the other onsen. Despite the free shuttle, this quickly becomes a problem if you're short on time and want to make the most of your stay. The inn consists of a main building and an annex, requiring you to cross a narrow alley to get from one to the other, which doesn't make things any easier. The staff is very welcoming. Our traditional tatami room, with minimal furniture and a futon for sleeping, was equipped with a (very small) washbasin area, a separate toilet, an electric massage chair, and a ceramic bathtub with a shower, both outdoors. Guests can reserve the hot spring baths for private use free of charge. Our room, like the hotel itself, is showing its age and could use a good renovation. However, we were able to enjoy a magnificent and excellent dinner served in our room. Breakfast was also of a very high standard. I advise people who wish to stay in Kinosaki to look for a better maintained hotel closer to the village."
