"What a great calm and tranquil hotel. After a road trip across France a 2 might stop here was amazing. Breakfast fantastic and some great homemade cookies etc on offer. The smell of home cooking down the corridor and tranquil music just added to the whole experience. Great location and stunning views before you enter a secret Town of amazing history and great restaurants. Highly recommend "

"Sadly we will not be returning as we were let down on several counts.We were welcomed? curtly and told our room would not be ready until later so we had to amuse ourselves elsewhere. 1. We sepecially booked the hotel as it advertised electric car charging points ( PLURAL). When we got there we were told that they none of them worked and no alternative was offered so we had to go searchimg! 2. The restaurant was not open all the time we were there so we had to go looking for a meal each evening! While we were there TWO coach parties arrived and were served an evening meal in the restaurant. We were told that we could not have a meal even though the kitchen was clearly open. The one saving grace was that the swimming pool was open each day and we coul relax there after a days sightseeing. Having stayed in many areas of France and in many different types of hotels we agreed this was one of the most unfriendly ones yet!"

"We got the idea that the current owners are gradually improving the quality of the hotel after a take-over. Maybe we are wrong, but the upkeep seems to be commensurate with the cash flow. So, good wash basins, but no shower curtain. New curtains and heating, but an old bathtub. We stayed in the main house, whereas these comments may not be suitable for the rooms in the 'stables' part. The main drawback was the noise from the other rooms, particularly from above. Each sneeze or flushing could be heard, which is a bit uncomfortable. The dinner was good, the breakfast was ample and the host was very helpful. We can only wish that they get on with the improvements of this hotel."

"We stayed one night in a standard double room in the adjoining building, and one night in a double with sea view in the main building. We preferred the annex building room, although you have to carry your bags up a flight of stairs, The hotel is a ten minute walk to a beach but does have a pleasant garden. It is also handy to the bakeries and shops in the town centre and to the Nomade creperie. "
