Seaside Oceanview
"Our stay at Seaside Oceanview was amazing!!!😍😍 The room was super clean and comfortable! The staff were also super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We also joined their excursions since they have an excursions centre and everything was very well-organized with a strong focus on safety. Special thanks to Jessica for being so kind and accommodating. Everything went smoothly, making our trip stress-free and memorable. Highly recommend and can’t wait to visit again! ❤️"
Nala Veli Beach & Spa
"I spent over a week at this incredible little hotel on Ukulhas Island with a group of 15 others. Our double rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean, and had everything you need (from a refrigerator to fresh water, shampoo, and a hairdryer in the bathroom). They provide daily housekeeping, and you can use the laundry service and, of course, book excursions and activities at reception. The hotel adjoins the spa, where you can find a wide selection of fantastic massages! The buffet breakfast is varied and delicious, both savory and sweet. A special mention goes to the pancakes with Nutella! In front of it is the most beautiful beach, with comfortable free sunbeds. We also celebrated December 31st here, and they threw a small beach party with music, setting a "Bye Bye 2025" sign on the beach to say goodbye to the old year and welcome the new one. A special mention goes to all the staff, especially the girls at Nala, who met our every need, always with professionalism and a smile! We'll be back!"
Ranthari Hotel and Spa, Ukulhas Maldives
"Our family had a fantastic experience at Ranthari Hotel and Spa. The property was beautiful, comfortable, and offered a relaxing atmosphere perfect for a family getaway. The staff were welcoming and helpful, ensuring our stay was enjoyable from start to finish. We appreciated the attention to detail and would definitely recommend this hotel to families looking for a pleasant and memorable stay."
West Sands Ukulhas
"A very nice hotel, located on the waterfront in a wonderful location. The staff was excellent; we were met at the pier, helped with all our questions, and even driven back. Cleaning is twice a day. Breakfast was included, costing $6. It's a buffet with plenty of choice, unlike other places where breakfast is limited. The lobby is beautiful, and drinking water is always available."
Island Home Inn
"This is a guesthouse where you feel at home... where they help you with any difficulty... if you think of coming here, you will find serenity, warmth, and friendliness... it is seafront and very, very nice. A heartfelt thanks to Aoulad who manages the property together with Ali, a perfect staff whose presence adds value to the property. I will not forget Sara Poli, my contact, who introduced me, welcomed me, helped me, and put up with me😅 Thank you all, you are in my heart ❤️"
Sunway Ukulhas
"Everything was great, we were met and seen off, and the hotel is right next to the pier. Everything is modern, with nightstands with charging stations, clean, beach towels provided, and a choice of breakfasts. The only downside was the smell in the restroom, which occasionally smelled like sewage."
Holiday Haven Ukulhas
"The hotel is located in the middle of the residential island, about 7-8 minutes' walk from the best northern beach where you can swim. The hotel service is very good, providing simple breakfast, and the kitchen is also available for guests to use. The room was clean, had air conditioning and a fan."
Ukulhas Sands
"Fantastic place with first class bed and linens etc. We loved our stay at Ukulhas Sands! The bed was a dream. The best one in Asia! The spacious room was sparkling clean (by the ever helpful Saeed) and really well decorated. The WIFI was fast and you could get Netflix and YouTube etc. The air conditioner worked really well and there is hot water in the modern bathroom. Everything was brand new and designed to give the guest the best experience possible. Our room was on the 2nd floor and even though there was construction across from the hotel, we never heard any noise. The owner Saeed, is super kind and extremely helpful. I realized a day after we checked out that I was missing my diamond ring. I texted him about the lost ring and miraculously he found it by the safe! Since we will be back in Male before our flight back to the US, he kindly arranged for the ring to be returned to me at our Male hotel. I am beyond grateful that he searched our old room twice and found it! It is my wedding ring and the sentimental value is irreplaceable since I designed it and had it made in Bangkok with a jeweler back in 1994. I also highly recommend Reef Rangers Ukulhas for your diving company. They are excellent and you will get a discount when you mention that you are staying at Ukulhas Sands. The dive company is conveniently located about a 2 minute walk away. The beaches for watching the sunrise and sunset are also only a few minutes walk. The harbor where we got on our dive boat was only about 4 minutes away. Be sure to stop by Celeste Cafe for coffee and delicious cinnamon rolls. They are located in front of the harbor. We loved our stay at Ukulhas Sands and will definitely be back!"
SeaLaVie Inn
"A fabulous small hotel on a lovely island: a great introduction to Maldevian life for us. Access by speedboat from Male Airport is straightforward, although strong winds made the crossing rough in the 17 seater Coral Speed Boat: better to travel in the 60 seater, although I think that they decide which boats are used each day. Sheena met us off the boat at Ukulhas and it was a short buggy ride to Sea La Vie. A lovely entrance way leads to an informal reception area where a welcome coconut drink was gratefully received. We were in room 104; a good size with a large bed and a decent en suite. Two open racks serve as adequate wardrobe space, good for hanging not-quite-dry-yet beach wear, although outside drying rails proved very useful for this as well. Limited shelf space and no drawers meant other clothes enjoyed an "al fresco" few days! We were on a B&B basis and we opted for the Maldivian breakfast every day. Very nice tuna (spicy or not spicy ; your choice) with roshi, plus fruit and a fruit drink. It is best to order black tea and a separate serving of cold mild if you want English breakfast tea. The hotel is ideally placed towards the south east coast, with easy access to Bikini Beach, which wraps around the southern end of the island. The beach is excellent and the snorkeling even better. The western side generally provides calmer waters with easy access to the sea. A sandy start leads to 1m to 2m deep rocky areas, before the reef edge appears around 40m from the shore. The numbers and variety of fish are spectacular, and we also saw three different types of eel along with regular glimpses of small sharks. The southern tip of the island has the most impressive beach but the stronger currents make swimming and snorkeling less appealing. The eastern side generally has larger waves and a deeper sea leading up to the reef. Fish are equally abundant on both sides of the island. Fazeel at the hotel organised an early morning (7am) manta ray trip. Just the two of us on a small boat with two crew members for $130. We were lucky to snorkel with a large manta ray, with three close encounters before it got bored of us and swam away. Sitings are not guaranteed and so we were quite fortunate. Fazeel was also extremely helpful in organising a private speedboat to take us south to our next island (Fenfushi), but the weather again proved too windy and rough and he later cancelled this and arranged seats at the last minute on the usual 65 seater speedboat back to Male. We made our way from there on another large speedboat to Fenfushi. Ukulhas is a vibrant local island which is rapidly becoming more touristy. On the plus side, there are already 20 or more restaurants to choose from. The four that we ate at all provided good, simple meals and we generally chose grilled reef fish which can be ordered in differing sizes according to hunger levels! On the negative side, there is a lot of construction work ongoing, but most of it is to the north, away fr"
