"Aranyak was a fantastic experience for us in every aspect. We are a South African and Singaporean couple who stayed there for three days and two nights so this review is written from a foreign visitor's point of view. Our reviews of the "objective" aspects are very good and are set out below, but there is also a very lovely "subjective" aspect to Aranyak. Our overriding impression was of how genuinely and personally interested everyone was in making sure we had the best time possible - that is fairly unusual wherever you go. Communication from the resort was excellent throughout but it was noteworthy how personal and thoughtful all the interactions were. The resort is very well situated - just down the road from Tala Block at Bhandavghar. We gave late notice for booking game drives and Ram and his team came up with some great bookings, and dealt very well with some last minute swerves from the Indian government (e.g. forcing resorts to cancel night safaris from 1 December - Aranyak still got us four game drives in two days). The rooms are high quality and the bathroom is western-friendly with a good overhead shower - you will need to heat up the water in the tank for 10 minutes first. The resort is very quiet and we slept well. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included. Lunch and dinner are an Indian buffet (so for foreigners just be aware that there isn't a Western-specific buffet) but we thought the food was fantastic. I am not good with spicy food and I loved the cooking - very high quality with plenty of low or no-spice options. Bhandavghar is very isolated and so we suspect a lot of work goes into producing three very good meals a day (breakfast has fruit, yoghurt, cereal etc but you'll probably be on a game drive). The resort is also very friendly - we had some great interactions with other guests, and there is an afternoon high tea where you can compare notes on game drives. Ram and his staff went out of their way to respond to any request of ours, from checking that our pick up car was arriving the next day, answering our questions about the reserve, letting us pet the sweet and friendly resort dog etc. There's a good shop on the reserve too. Ram focuses on hiring local staff who care about the areas, and trying to promote a sustainable experience and that approach was evident throughout. All in all Aranyak is a fantastic option to base yourself at for visiting Bhandavgarh. Finally (in case, like we do, you are also trying to pick up information about the park itself through these reviews) a couple of notes about the park. Bhandavgar is a magnificent game reserve but you likely know this already, so a few practical points: - the drives are very long compared to e.g. African game drives - the morning drive is 5.5 hours. If you have a few days, then you may want to split your drives into morning drives only rather than pile an afternoon game drive on top of the morning. - in December it is very, very cold. The staff is extremely humble and courteous.  The food options mainly their local regional options are.very tasty and chef Motilal is eager to explain and make local food  . Very thoughtful of them to provide a breakfast picnic basket for the early morning safari.  Safari arrangements done by their agent Raju tiger were flawless and worry free .  Personal attention by manager Ashish and volunteering to take us on a nature walk was another highlight. His eagerness to tell about local flora fauna, culture, village life, Wildlife sightings, paw prints made the walk more interesting."

Beautiful, comfortable and nested amongst forest areas - Aranyak was our quiet comfortable nest where food was fresh, and super tasty, rooms and staff were great. The resort aligns with sustainable practices hence the rooms are minimalistic yet extremely comfortable and everything is arranged to the tee. They also arranged our safari to the Bandhavgarh National park where it was impeccably arranged with packed breakfast, comforter and guided tours. They also have a small store tucked in one of the corner of the reception - which has beautiful collection of Maheshwari, Chanderi sarees, dokra and metal craft, Gond paintings and other small collections with various price points. Most of these items are procured from local artisans - which I loved even more. Looking forward to visiting again."
