A nice hotel, a bit outside the city center. It looks cool and modern, and is very clean. The room was very cold though, and temperature could only be raised via the AC. After 4 hours it had only increased by 1.5 degrees. The friendly receptionist offered to search for another room when I finally complained, but made clear, that it probably wouldn’t be warmer in other rooms. Breakfast wasn’t included in the room rate (and couldn’t be added, it had to be purchased on-site). The price was crazy with 175kr, that quite annoyed me.

Das Palads Hotel ist zentral gelegen - in Bahnhofsnähe und bei der Fussgängerzone. Es eignet sich ideal als Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen und insbesondere auch für einen längeren Aufenthalt. Wir verbrachten einige Nächte in einem schon etwas in die Jahre gekommenen, aber sehr gut erhaltenen grossen Zimmer mit Kochnische (inkl. Wasserkocher, Kaffeeautomat und einem wirklich grosszügigen Angebot an Tees und Kaffees). Das Zimmer war u.a. mit einem Bügeleisen und -brett ausgestattet und im Schrank befanden sich genügend Kleiderbügel. Das geräumige Badezimmer wird vermutlich mittels Bodenheizung gewärmt, es war jedenfalls immer sehr angenehm warm. Kleiner, aber vernachlässigbarer Mangel: Das Duschwasser hätte an manchen Tagen etwas wärmer sein können. Vom Frühstücksbuffet (bis 10 Uhr) und dem tollen Preis-Leistungsverhältnis waren wir ebenfalls positiv überrascht.
