"We have just returned from a most enjoyable stay here. We have visited the Mad River Valley often over the years but always stayed with friends in the area. We had said that if those accommodations were not available, we would definitely Gove West Hill a try. We are so glad we did so. The new owners, Teresa and Eric are the consummate hosts!. From the moment of our arrival, it seemed that they could not do enough to make our stay pleasant. Our four-night stay in "The Mountain Room" on the second floor was restful and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom facilities were more than adequate for our needs. Breakfasts were tasty and filling and different each morning. We're older and were we to go back, we would seek a ground floor room; the stairs to our room were doable but I'm beyond such things these days. The property is off the main thoroughfare (VT Rt 100) but within easy access to that road all that the Valley has to offer."

"We had the entire hotel booked for our group ski trip. Because there is not much nightlife at Sugarbush, we had been promised that the Black Sheep Bar at the hotel would be open for us on Friday -up until 10pm and maybe later and also Saturday night. The hotel knew we were arriving closer to 10pm. At 9:30pm when we arrived, the bar was closed. They made a staffing excuse and promised it would be open tomorrow. OK we thought.....until Saturday when they suddenly told us they were refusing to open the bar again with the same flimsy excuse! The hotel nightlife was a big part of our trip and the dishonesty/inability to deliver is something everyone should be aware when considering this option, and avoid if that is important to you. Rooms were Instagram nice but very small, noise carried. Decent location and the breakfast bar was very good. A real mixed experience....but them leaving us high and dry not once but twice is what sticks with us...."
