Insight Resort Ahangama ★★★★
"The hotel is situated right by the sea. The staff were very friendly. The only area for improvement would be the speed at which our meals were served."
Coast 67 Boutique Hotel ★★★★
"Very nice hotel. We visited during low season but service was perfect. Most hotels around were closed. Friendly staff , very good breakfast and kitchen ."
Lum Residence ★★★★
"The best place at south area. Atmosphere inside the residence “you feel at home” ! Start from comfortable rooms: with king size bed, small kitchen equipped with a refrigerator Than the restaurant menu, delicious breakfasts, lunch and dinners. Hospitality staff during all staying, were always sensitive and responsive. Definitely it’s our favourite place to be💛💛💛💛💛"
Wake N Flow, Ahangama - Kabalana Beach
"You won't find another secluded, quiet place like this in Sri Lanka. Well done, guys!"
Palm Garden Ayurveda Resort Ahangama ★★★★
"We arrived at Palm Garden in mid-May, which is the end of the high season in southwestern Sri Lanka, so the hotel was relatively quiet and uncrowded. The rooms are clean and spacious, with high ceilings and a pleasant view of the pool. The grounds are green, well-maintained, and very atmospheric. The staff is friendly and always ready to help. The breakfasts are also quite good by local standards. The sea is a bit far—about a 15-20-minute walk or about a 5-minute tuk-tuk ride—but otherwise, everything was great."
Villa Alba - Ahangama ★★★★
"We booked the entire villa for our family of 6 (including adult children). It proved a perfect choice because we all had plenty of independent space, as well as communal living and dining areas (and of course the pool). The architecture and style of the villa is superb, and we loved the outlook across the rice fields. Service was faultless and the food excellent. We stayed for 7 nights and didn't tire of the menu. The only downside was that getting transport to/from the beach or Galle proved a little tricky (compounded by the fact there was 6 of us). We tried taxis, tuk tuks and PickMe - with mixed success."
Tri ★★★★★
"I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Tri Koggala by Amaya. The hotel is set in a breathtaking location surrounded by lush greenery and the serene waters of Koggala Lake, making it the perfect escape for relaxation and peace. The design and architecture blend beautifully with nature, creating a truly unique atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally warm, attentive, and professional, always ready to assist with a genuine smile. The food was excellent, offering both authentic Sri Lankan flavors and international options, all prepared with great care. The rooms were spacious, clean, and designed with an elegant touch, providing stunning views and utmost comfort."
Hotel Kabalana ★★★★★
"It was terrible! I feel so sorry for this hotel, because whoever owns it has clearly given it a lot of grief... The hotel itself is in a great location, right on the beach, with a wonderful view. This building could have been a great place to relax and stay, but alas. We arrived on the southern coast of Sri Lanka late in the evening and decided to spend the night somewhere, and then choose a place for a longer stay in daylight. We chose this hotel because we wanted to stay right on the beach. 1) When we entered the hotel, the first thing we noticed was the dirty glass partitions between the reception and the pool area. Yes, it's clear the hotel isn't exactly new, but it could have been kept clean. 2) When we went up to our room, I immediately noticed mouse droppings on the sofa, furniture, and floor, so we asked for cleaning. The cleaning consisted of a guy coming in, sweeping the floor, and then randomly waving a dry cloth over the surface. There was no strength to complain and we didn’t say anything 3) the bed linen consisted of different parts, i.e. one pillowcase from one, the second from another, the sheet from a third, the duvet cover from a fourth. And the linen was also very dirty, stained and dusty. I lay down in the middle of the bed and tried not to move all night, because there was a thick layer of dust and dirt around the perimeter of the bed 4) the whole bathroom was moldy, the shower, the sink, the faucet 5) some small bugs were crawling in the bathroom 6) my husband looked into the cabinets in the bathroom and warned me not to even think about opening them, so as not to be scared by the dirt 7) there was no hot water in the bathroom!)) I couldn’t take a shower after a long journey and my husband and I laughed that the bed was dirtier and I wouldn’t dirty it 8) and the icing on the cake was that either rats or mice were running around our room all night long. My husband woke up because they were running through our things and bags, chewing up a packet of cookies, and scurrying about all night. We woke up at 6 a.m. and literally fled that horrible place. I'll also mention the old furniture in the rooms and that we were overcharged by about 1,800 rubles for the night, which we realized as soon as we got up to our room. We wanted to sort it out in the morning, but in the morning all we wanted to do was run as far away as possible."

Harding Boutique Hotel
"This hotel lived up to and beyond our expectations. The staff, from the outset were professional, caring and considerate. For sure a re-treat from the rat race demanding work duties. The rooms were modern and aesthetically appealing…clean and thoughtfully appointed. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The hotel is central to all you need to visit, other attractions and night life. The chef, his menus and execution was some of the freshest and tasteful food. The team within were organised, great communication and most helpful. Thank you team Harding boutique Hotel x"
Sri Lankan Villa
"I spent the Spring Festival 2025 with a friend. The location of the hotel is quite good, very close to the beach, close to the Gaochun fishing spot, and many people surf nearby. Next to it is Kataluwa Railway Station. If you are optimistic about the time, take the train to Galle. Colompo is very convenient. I personally feel very satisfied."
The Sandhya
"A great stay, absolutely gorgeous hotel - perfect, friendly and attentive service, small hotel so felt very safe, familiar and luxurious. Delicious food, excellent location to get to Ahangama by 5min TukTuk and be directly on a wide sandy and long (enough) beach with lots of surfers, without the actual beach being packed full of people so was calm but bustling. Would highly recommend."
Garton's Cape
"I recently stayed at this wonderful hotel in Sri Lanka and I’m still thinking about it. From the moment I arrived, the reception staff was incredibly welcoming and professional. The service throughout my stay was top-notch—always attentive and with a smile. The highlight for me was definitely the view; it’s absolutely stunning and creates such a peaceful atmosphere. If you’re looking for a calm and quiet getaway to fall in love with, this is the place. The rooms were spotless and very well-maintained. Also, having access to a private, clean beach made the experience so much more relaxing. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Sri Lanka!"
