"I came to Iola for a work conference. I called the hotel prior to arrival and was given a rate of $78 for one night. When I arrived to check-in, my credit card was charged $149. When I called to make reservations, I wasn't given a reservation number or name of the staff member, so I didn't have anything to reference. The front desk refused to adjust the rate and insisted I was getting a good deal and they were doing me a favor to get me such a nice room at short notice and throwing in breakfast for free (which I said I didn't want or need). They wouldn't adjust the charge and told me my room was very special and very nice. It was neither. It smelled horribly like smoke, didn't have a security latch on the door, and the TV didn't work. I would not recommend this hotel and will not stay there for business again. "
