"What a beautiful hotel! The new owners and staff are so welcoming and friendly. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly and shown straight to our room. We were also treated to a lovely little arrival gift of delicious macaroons, which was such a thoughtful touch. Our room was a great size, with a super comfortable bed that made for a perfect night’s sleep. The bathroom was spotless, the shower was very powerful, and the complimentary Molton Brown products were a lovely added extra. The mini fridge in the room was really handy, and complimentary bottled water was also provided, which we appreciated. The bar area was incredibly inviting and had such cozy vibes, especially with the fire going. There was also a great selection of drinks to choose from. Continental breakfast was available with a fantastic variety of choices, and everything was fresh and enjoyable. We had such a wonderful stay and will definitely be back again in the summer!"

"Stopped off at this great establishment on route for holidays. Staff really friendly and helpful. Lunch was served with a smile and nothing was to much trouble. Well behaved dogs welcome. A great place for locals and visitors alike Helen has been unwell for sometime, hopefully she will be feeling better soon. Parking available. True gem in the rallies."

"My wife has attended a writers’ retreat at Lowbyer and spoke so highly of the whole experience that we came back as a couple for a few days. Great experience with super service from hosts Jim and Janice. Bedroom comfortable, breakfast perfect and the hotel is a great base for exploring the area. Janice recommended Barnard Castle and the Bowes Museum and we spent an enjoyable day following her advice. Janice is a tremendous cook and we had a superb dinner on our last evening. Rest assured we will return. 10/10. 👍"
