"The room was stylish, and the front desk was friendly and helped me carry my luggage up to the upper floor. I was a little bothered by the hair and trash in the room. I would have liked some slippers."

📍 1201 Amakusamachi Shimodakita, Amakusa

"It was a good price for a four-night stay as a solo traveller, but the view from the room and the dining options were a bit disappointing."

Yumehotaru Ryokan, Amakusa Shimoda Onsen
9.5 (8 reviews)

Yumehotaru Ryokan, Amakusa Shimoda Onsen ★★★

📍 1366 Amakusamachi Shimodakita, Amakusa

"After touring Mikata Nishi Port, we visited Amakusa Shimoda Onsen. The rustic hot spring town has the scent of the good old Showa era. Hotel Yumehotaru has a large parking lot in front of the entrance. When we arrived and went to the front desk, the female staff member replied enthusiastically when we said we wanted to stop by and take a bath. We forgot our towels, so she lent us one. We went further in and found the indoor bath. The changing room was also well-maintained. It was around 1pm, so we had it all to ourselves. It was very well maintained, with the hot spring water gushing out. There were cups at the outlet. The water is probably fresh enough to drink. The water temperature was about 41.2 degrees. The large bath was very relaxing and clean. It was worth coming, even though it took more than two hours one way. This is a hotel with a large hot spring bath that you should definitely stay overnight and take a bath in the morning, afternoon, and evening."

Yasuragiso
9.9 (4 reviews)

Yasuragiso ★★★

📍 2193-2 Kutamamachi, Amakusa

"I couldn't eat fish, so I had a fried chicken served instead of fish dishes for dinner. Of course, I don't want you to replace it with me. The fried chicken is delicious! It's so delicious that it can be used as a signboard product in the store! As with breakfast, all of them were delicious. Overall, everywhere is clean and feels good. The hot springs also have hot baths and lukewarm baths, which are very easy to take a bath and clean. There is nothing in the location (laughs) and it is healed in a quiet place. You can recommend it with peace of mind!"

Hotel Sun Road

HINOKINO HOTEL ★★
"A one-night trip for a man on a scooter. It's in a residential area. I heard at a local izakaya that the building was originally a facility for the elderly and was renovated (I can't confirm this, but I heard the same thing at the sauna of another hotel I went to that day). When I opened the window, I could see the apartment next door. Amenities included toothbrushes, razors, tea, etc., which is more than enough for a man traveling alone. There are no convenience stores nearby. Most of the izakayas in the neighborhood are closed on Wednesdays. Compared to the business hotels in the area, it's very bright and not gloomy. There is no large public bath, so you can't stretch your legs in the bath. The blinds are stylish, so soft light shines in when you wake up in the morning. Also, I'll go out of my way to mention this at the end, and it may just be me, but from the moment I entered the room, I couldn't stop sneezing, having a runny nose, and itchy eyes. I used up half a box of tissues in one night. I don't know why. I'll go back again before the end of the year to check."

"I stayed in a twin room, but there was a 15cm difference in height between the combined toilet and bathroom and the room floor, which I thought was unthinkable these days."

"Overall, I was satisfied. I later paid extra for the lobster, fish, and crab feast, which was excellent. The service was also very satisfactory. The room was a bit small, but it had a hot spring, so I was very happy."

"The location is wonderful. I was on my way to Ushibuka from Honda and Yasuragiso is right in the middle. I got a bit lost, because my own lousy sense of direction, and a kind man from the village gave me a ride there as he was going for his onsen at the hotel's onsen. I came in quite late and yet they still serve me dinner."

"The facility itself is quite old and old, but above all, the response of the people at the front desk is polite and wonderful. When I asked my son ⭐️ how many? I said four and said something like the above! My sons took care of me 🙇"
