"I was blown away when I arrived at the parking lot, because you are litterally in front of a huge castle. Then you'll have to walk I to the castle to access to the hotel. It's a nice medieval castle experience. Hotel is clean and very well located. Totally recommend."

Ibis Budget Givet

"Haven't stayed in a Ibis budget for a while. The room was OK with a few minor faults but the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is just outside Givet and there is a big Intermarche opposite. We only stayed one night on our way to Germany but Givet looked a nice place on the river, and I wish we had had perhaps another night to spend a day there. Breakfast was excellent - better that they used to be."

"The hotel is very well located on the banks of the Meuse. Room service is minimal, the restaurant menu is very disappointing with no local specialties, and the breakfast is extremely mediocre and minimalist (no dried or fresh seasonal fruit), available at 8:30 am on weekends! Be careful not to park your car in the locked courtyard overnight if you want to leave before breakfast time."

"If you are looking for a cheap hotel to spend the night, i would say it is the cheapest one you can find in the area. Check in was done automatically by a machine in front of the entrance, so it was super fast. Unfortunately, toilet and showers were shared and rather small. The room felt small (like a little box), but it had a sink, hangers and a TV. It didn't provide any towels, soap bars or hygiene items."

"I won't presume to judge the rooms and the hotel itself, as I don't know it. But in terms of the food... Wow! What a lack of organization! I ran for cover, Mr. Owner... The food was more than mediocre. I don't understand why it took 2.5 hours to be fully served, including desserts, especially on a Sunday with 25 covers. Having 8 years of professional experience in the restaurant industry, I can't fathom how a menu like this can be in such a mess! Four employees is more than enough, I think. So, the excuse that there's only one cook is ridiculous. No, we left without dessert, knowing that there's not much preparation on the menu. They really need to think about hiring professionals, not apprentices just to make a quick buck. Never again."

"As each room cost €285 per night and the hotel boasted a great restaurant, we had high hopes for our one night stay. We could not book our evening meal via ******* and when we tried, we found the restaurant fully booked. As it was also a religious holiday many of the other local restaurants were also closed. So we ate a picnic from Intermarche that evening. The WiFi signal is very weak so the TV didn't work and it was difficult to use any laptops or notebooks. The attitude of the young men on duty was in effect "tant pis". Then the following morning when all the guests had gone down for breakfast, they discovered their room keys no longer worked when they returned to their rooms. So queues at reception to get all their keys reprogrammed and I did not hear a single word of apology from the staff. It seemed as if all this was quite normal. Breakfast was ok for 25 euros pp but the menu was very limited compared to other much cheaper places we stayed in this area. The decor throughout seemed rather unimaginative given the nature and history of the building. So although the rooms were comfortable and air-conditioned, I'm really not sure our stay was worth all that money."
