"It was the simple cabin we stayed in, the place is clean and simple, things are a bit old but it’s fine. The shower place is about two minutes to walk, clean and bright. The bed is very comfortable. It can be quite cold in the evening. The beach nearby is very nice to play, especially for children."

"We had a wonderful stay in this very special hotel. Everything about the stay was great. Our room was very nice with very comfortable separate beds (cell 34). The staff was VERY helpful and friendly during our entire stay. The home-made breakfast was delicious. The hotel is close to the city center, and when we used the "Glassheisen", as recommended by the staff, we could get back and forth very quickly. In our opinion, the way the prison has been renovated and turned into a hotel, is very well done. It has the comforts of a hotel, and all the new interior elements (furniture, plants, curtains, paintings) are elegant but in a style that does not distract from the feeling of being in a former prison. It is possible to walk around and look at everything from the old prison. All in all a great balance between authenticity and comfort. Some of the practical details that we appreciated: Showers and extra toilets on the same floor as the room, a fridge in the hallway that we could use, heater + fan in our room, coffee/tea making facilities. Everything is tidy and clean. One of us joined a guided tour of the prison, which was very interesting and made a lasting impression. If you stay at the prison hotel, you should not miss this. Highly recommended!"
