Begeti Bay Hotel ★★★★
"Just back from 2 weeks at the Begeti Bay Hotel. The hotel was lovely and clean, our standard room was bright and modern with aircon, fridge, tv ( No uk channels), kettle, small safe and a private small balcony. All staff were very friendly and cheerful and looked happy to be working there. The food was good and varied - buffet style with plenty of choice at all meals, and always free tables either inside or outside. Breakfast 07:30 to 10:30, lunch 12:30 to 14:30, dinner 19:00 to 21:00. and snacks available from the bar 15:30 to 18:00. The choice of drinks was plentiful with cocktails, beer wine, local spirits etc. and were available as part of the all inclusive package between 10:30 and 22:00. After 22:00 the bar remained open until midnight but drinks had to be paid for. There were no organised 'activities' apart from a very popular Greek Night on Thursdays, and there was never a problem getting sunbeds round the pool, with pool towels available for 10 Euros deposit each (in cash). The tourist tax was payable on check-in, also in cash, so good to have sufficient Euros to cover this. As is clear from the hotel description, it is in a quiet location but on the bus route between Heraklion and Rethymnon and sandy beaches are just a 5 minute stroll away. We hired a car and that was very useful to make the occasional trip out as well as getting from/to the airport. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxed and comfortable holiday."
Kapsaliana Village Hotel ★★★★
"me and my friend stayed a few nights in this hotel village and it was one of the best experience we had in Crete . With the typical architecture you really get to immerse in the cretian village atmosphere in the middle of a breathtaking landscape. the area being quiet and peaceful we were able to rest comfortably. The food was great and all the staff were so welcoming and ready to help you."
Jo An Beach Hotel ★★★
"The hotel is situated on a private beach with pebbles and flat rocks, so swimming shoes are recommended. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available for an additional charge. The staff at the reception, restaurant, and bar are very friendly and polite. The food is varied and delicious. The rooms are simple but clean. A bus stop to Rethymno is located close to the hotel. There is almost no animation, except for one Greek evening per week, which was not a problem for us — we preferred walking along the beach or playing board games. We enjoyed our stay at Jo A Beach Hotel, thank you!"
Grecotel LUXME White ★★★★★
"The stay was pleasant. But the selection of food was extremely poor. The room is a bit small for a couple"
Grecotel Villa Oliva ★★★
"Great hotel staff, friendly and helpful. Breakfast, especially the fruits were very delicious."
Rethymno Palace ★★★★★
"Lovely place, lovely staff, great food. Overall an amazing experience. Andreas the manager is such a good host, very friendly and always in a good mood, eager to make you laugh. Totally recommended!! We’ll come back for sure."
Uzenie All Suites Boutique Resort ★★★★★
"Modern resort, right on the sea. Very friendly and professional staff. As in the best five-star hotels, many small touches make a difference. I had a small problem with my room, and they immediately responded by offering an upgrade; I was very pleased. I will definitely return to this resort to spend more time."
Ekavi Hotel ★★★
"Very friendly they couldn't do enough for there guests ,I asked for a bigger room which was done straight away without any problems, I also didn't have a kettle iny room ,I asked for one ,this was also taken care of promptly. food was very nice , cooked fresh every evening had good 3 courseeal every evening also good selection for breakfast, Pool bar was also open which was great for drinks round the pool and lunch Great place to relax and chill out on holiday"
Caramel, A Grecotel Resort to Live ★★★★★
"I don‘t know if someone has been here as well but this must be one of the worst experiences I have ever had. The resort itself was really nice - good architecture and good style. The services on the otherhand were almost non-existent. When asking to clean our room they just emptied the trash and made the bed. No new bed sheets, no new towels, no new cups for coffee even though they took the dirty ones out and gave fresh new Nespresso capsules. When asking for some baby stuff (bottle sterilizer) they managed to get it wrong two times. First time we get a kettle, second time a bottle warmer. Those were really not complex instructions. When asking for puree for the baby (possible upon request according to their menu) we didn’t receive puree. I know mistakes can happen but not every single day for 5 days straight. They also have an app where we can request services like room cleaning etc. None of them were viewed nor done. They just said „maybe you didn‘t have an internet connection“ and didn‘t even ask what we needed. Not to mention the price - utterly expensive for the service you receive. Absolutely not worth it. After some review investigation we realized that a lot of people had the same issues and one even got bribed to delete his bad review. This led me to thinking that they might delete bad reviews themselves."

Eleven Boutique Suites
"+ cozy building, nice and quite functional seaview room, good mosquito nets, comfy bed, deep enough pool good for swimming, exellent breakfast by the sea, convenient parking on site. - tiny beach is rocky not good for swimming, few mosquitos managed sneaking in, no towel drying rack on the balcony"
Creta Star Hotel - Adults Only
"My mother and I spent a wonderful ten days at the Creta Star hotel. I would like to thank all the hotel staff who took good care of us. At the reception, in the dining room, the animators, the cleaners – all kind and hardworking people :-) The food was excellent, with a great selection, and the best were the sweet desserts!!! The sea was beautifully warm even in June, sometimes there were waves, but you could still swim nicely. The room was clean, tidied every day, including towel changes. The only downside of the whole vacation was the smell of sewage in the room. After notifying the staff, it was fixed and then it was better. The hotel services were top-notch! Thank you very much for a wonderful holiday."
Aegean View Hotel - Rethymno
"Our stay at this boutique beachfront hotel near Rethymno was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the incredibly quiet location and the serene, peaceful setup of the property. If you are looking for a tranquil getaway where you can truly unwind right by the sea, this is the perfect place. The rooms are beautifully renovated, modern, and spotlessly clean. A huge shoutout to the cleaning ladies, who were incredibly nice, warm, and kept everything in pristine condition throughout our stay. What really sets this hotel apart, though, is the exceptional, personalized hospitality. The owner, Manolis, goes absolutely above and beyond to accommodate every single demand with a smile. His dedication to his guests is unmatched. And right by the bar, Sifis the bartender was an absolute delight—so fun to chat with and always mixing up great drinks with a fantastic attitude. The combination of a stunning location, flawless rooms, and a team that treats you like family made our stay unforgettable. We cannot recommend the Aegean View highly enough and are already dreaming of our next visit!"
Amira Luxury Resort & Spa - Adults Only
Carme Villas
"A nice place to stay with your family. Very helpful staff that you can contact at any moment. Clean rooms, clean pool and a very nice swimming pool at your door. A small gym with good dumbbells, a treadmill and a crosstrainer. The breakfast was very good!"
Rethymno Mare & Water Park
"Hello, This was the second time we have stayed at your hotel, and once again, everything was perfect. The restaurant, bars and swimming pools are all very clean, and the adults-only pool is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet. I would especially like to thank two members of your team who really stood out to us: Klajdi and Xhulio Buzo. They are exceptionally kind, professional and always attentive to guests. We would like to sincerely thank them, because without them, our stay would have been different. They truly deserve to be congratulated! Thank you again for everything, and perhaps see you next year! Best regards"
Oasis Scaleta Hotel
"We had a lovely first family vacation thanks to this place. Outstanding customer service and lovely location, 10 mins walk from the beach, with an incredible view and stylish dining area. One thing to know, if you want air-conditioning is £6 a day (all inclusive £3). We genuinely couldn't have wished for a better place to stay. Thank you so much for having us and for gifting us with an amazing time."
Imperial Palace Adults Only
"If you want a holiday where you are chilling around the Pool and beach in amazing weather then this is perfect. Great room, had a leak in Air con but got moved to a bigger room with no problems. good pool and sunbeds always free and comfy, they clean consistently. Right near beach 5 mins walk. Decent breakfast and decent dinner both buffet. However, Gym is tiny. Do Not buy food or drinks from pool bar, we recieved cold microwaved Pizza and gyros costing £15 and asked to cancel the order when they took it back feeling that it was cold themselves. However one of the staff did not understand english and gave the same meal that was microwaved a bit more, then refused to cancel when we translated. Closest actual supermarket is like 30 mins walk away too. If you want good food and places to go then busses and taxis are needed into town. Rethymno town and old town is amazing if you are willing to get busses every day."
Zeus Hotels Ydoria Resort
"I was in this hotel with my friend two weeks ago. Firstly I want to say shortly, that this hotel was really a good choice. We were afraid a little by older reviews, but the hotel is under a new management, and everything works totally great! And now the longer part. We really enjoyed our staying there. The rooms wasnt big, but they had everything which we needed. It was clean, and the cleaning women did a great job every time too. The food was delicious, and there were soo much options what to pick for breakfast, lunch and dinner too. Everything was good, I did not have a single bad meal. Also the food bar next too the pools was really great. The were 4 pools, so even if the hotel is big, there is a lot of space in the pool anytime. The hotel receptionist were really nice and they could solve every problem. Hotel is really close to the beach, but also to some shops and bus station, which is great. The bar offered a lot of really good drinks. And the beer to. As a guy from Czech Republic, I am really picky and critical about beers, but this was OK. Also there was some animation programme (with Rico and Tekla), which was fun. I really did not find any minuses or disadvantages of this hotel. Maybe the bar could be open little longer, also the pools, but thats a detail. But the most important thing is, that really every, every single one employee of this hotel, from receptionist, cooks, cleaning ladies, people in dining rooms, every of them was really friendly, kind, and did never show any single stamp of negative emotions to us. That was really something, that i never experienced yet, and something what really made my vacation even better. As a last thing, i would like to highlight two employees from the hotel. The first one is the older bartender, who was really nice to everyone, always made top tier drinks, never asked us anything about how much beers are we ordering (and we ordered really a lot HAHA– I said I am from Czechia, so..). He also smiled a lot, even when we were a little bit drunk already and ordered more and more, and we also appreciated, that he could speak our Czech language little bit too. The second one is a smaller young girl with dark hair from the bar and from dining room, who took care about the dishes and the glasses and cups. I swear, I have never seen someone soooooo much positive as her. She was smiling every single time. The positive energy, which came from her, was enormous. I had to tell this to her the last day, because I really never seen anything like this (you can add me on Instagram - @polasek_jiri45, and I would thank you for that once more, you were so kind). This two people really need to be promoted and get higher salary! But once more, I thank all of employees of this hotel, because i really enjoyed my staying here. It was so much better, than I expected, and i really recommend EVERYONE visiting this place. Thank you!"
Hotel Palladion by Anayia All Inclusive Resorts
"Hotel was located in a great area, close to the beach, plenty of bars and restaurants, travel shops for day trips and ATMs. However the hotel itself has a lot to answer to. The day we arrived we were not told of times for breakfast lunch and dinner, no wrist band provided which I found odd due to the bar being open to public as well as the guests at the hotel. The man on the reception was really creepy and made me, my mam and sister very uncomfortable. He actually told my sister to come back later on her own as he had a secret to tell her and we weren't the only targets so if your going on holiday by yourself I would not recommend this hotel. I put a chair infront of my hotel of a night time just because he made me feel unsafe. The positives of the hotel was the food was lovely, very authentic to Greece. I can't complain about that however if you're going as a family with either fussy eaters or young children there isn't a great variety for children that would not usually eat something out of their comfort zone. The bar was another downfall to the hotel. We was all inclusive however the drink choice was not great. I like a good variety of cocktails and this hotel had only two different ones, as well as dry wine and no Prosecco. The lady on the bar was nothing but rude. Made everyone in the hotel feel like an inconvenience, she was miserable and constantly either on her phone voice messaging or nowhere to be seen. She also pick of chose when to close the bar. When the website states 11pm and she closes anywhere between 10/10.30. She also selectively chose who she liked and didn't liked given us who she didn't a plastic cup for all of our drinks and glasses and big portions of drinks to those she liked. There was also no music around the pool or the bar. The lady behind the bar had white music for herself! The only alcoholic drink that was nice was a mojito or a baileys however with the baileys she did 1/4 measurements. The shower was a-bit minging if I'm honest dirty and if your a tall or larger person you aren't gonna have much luck trying to get a wash. The pictures on their website are not even there pictures either and from a hotel down the road so really it's false advertisement. And they tried to over charge us hotel tax as the end of the stay when on the first day was told €12 for four nights and then when we checked out they tried to charge us €48 which makes me think it was due avoiding the creepy man as it was a lovely lady on reception on the last day of stay."
White Olive Elite Rethymno
Harmony Rethymno Beach Hotel
"We had a great stay at Harmony Hotel. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing. The service throughout our stay was excellent. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Crete."
Rimondi Grand Resort & Spa
"We are here now and it’s definitely off season. The resort is not set up for cooler weather. The beautiful pools are freezing cold and there’s absolutely nothing to do. We thought we’d pay to go into their indoor pool and hot tub (everything is an extra charge) and we paid. The indoor pool is COLD too and the “hot” tub is a little warmer than the pool and has no bubbles. Such a waste of a beautiful space. The resort is stunning but the service, the experience and the actual rooms are all a disappointment. We would never return here. The food is included and we were charged an additional 700 euros for that. It edible food. You won’t starve but it is just that edible. The included drinks are also sub standard. We got a room with a private pool. Also freezing and not worth the extra 70 euros we were charged on top of the room fee. We are glad we got to see Crete. We are happy we rented a car to get out of this place. If we had to stay here, we’d go mad. As beautiful as it is, it’s a shame that it is so poorly managed."
